New 3.008 patch and damage model! My first flight in the K4 over the very scenic setting of the Kertch straight. Almost feels like combating P47's over the north sea.
The best thing about the K4 is the pure power. The La5FN at 6:30 tried, but MW50 said no (ua-cam.com/video/Sg14jNbBb-8/v-deo.html). Also, the new Pilot models look extremly good!
@Volks Waggener b&z only works at high altitudes, at mid-low alts it's a death sentence since 2nd echelon covers the 1st echelon. In a standard ladder IL-2s would be dropping from mid to low alt attack runs, while LA-5s would run in 2nd echelon ready drop on zoomers. Yaks were kept back to enter turning dog fights after loos of energy after scattering.
Unlike all to often in reality! I really don't t5hink these guys would last five minutes in War Thunder, there the enemy is actually hunting for you and doing a damn good job of it! So many of these seem to pounce on beginners that fly in a straight line, never take evasive action, so not watch there six, like this guy, and attack unescorted bombers! Any real WW2 pilot would consider these to be a fantasy! But a good video and great graphics! I can hardly keep from laughing at these, but I give them a thumbs up! Great graphics!
@@nightlightabcd In their defense: You can't compare warthunder to il2. It's easy to pay attention in a 10min bar brawl on the deck, much harder to concentrate 60min and fly 300 km.
Not sure about the 30mm yet: it seems to riddle the planes with shrapnel and cause alot of damage to control surfaces overall, but no clean killshots as with the 20mm (wingoffs etc.). Needs more testing from my part - I need to check if the 20mm still performs the same after the damage model patch.
All armament is weaker in regards to taking wings off, the 20mm included. I guess with a Fw 190 if you get a good burst you could still be able to do it.
I think the main problem has never been the damage overall but the huge discrepancy between HE and AP, in my opinion - Maybe this patch will have an impact on that.
@@Vade Yeah, now it looks like for AP to make structural failure they have to hit the wing spars with a good burst. In regards to the HE they cause less structural failures than before, but I noticed more control loss/fires/ailerons ripped off etc. Overall it's better imho but it could use some tweaks for example making the big caliber impacts more devastating if they don't cause structural failure (instability etc).
Interesting; Per the observations of Helmut Lipfert, a JG52 Experte, a single hit from a 30mm Mk108 shell enough to literally blow apart an IL2 sturmovik (he almost got taken down himself by the four parts that came flying back at him: engine block, tail and both of the wings), Of course he had to get VERY close & the target was non maneuvering. The low velocity of the projectile made it tricky to engage a more agile target.
Pretty sure after the war ended, The k-4 along with the Dora were found by the americans, some unfished ones, some finished. We basically made them run off our high octane fuel and they performed amazingly, they out performed anything we had. I know this is a fact for the dora, im not sure about the k-4. They put dora's up in a training sim and ran some sorties with mustangs, and it didnt look to good for the mustangs ill put it that way. Basically all the mustangs speed advantages were now completey gone. They might of even put some 4 bladed props on the dora's im not sure, im not sure how many or the extensions of the modifications to much besides making the engine perform at its peak.
I can't wait for the Fw190 Dora and most of all, the Me262. With these three fighters on the German side, it will be interesting to see how the dogfighting will be against the allies.

How did you manage to equip the oxygen mask for the pilot in the beginning while they were parked? I can't find the hotkeys for it, although the pilot will equip it automatically at 3000-4000m altitude. I have turned on the breathing even before starting the engine but he doesn't seem to wear the mask.
if i remember correctly, the game was played pre-patch, but the footage was recorded post-patch, It might be a bug because of that. I did not equip it manually.
Ich habe jetzt einige Zeit auf der anderen Seite verbracht, als Allies. Ich finde die K4 ist zu extrem für das Spiel. Die 109 konnte zwar schon immer die die meisten Alliierten outdiven und alle outclimben aber oft waren das knappe Angelegenheiten dank der LA5FN bis 4k und der Yak1b darunter. Die K4 zieht allem weg, sogar der P47 im Dive. Die P47 verliert vor der K4 Steuerelemente. Ferner, 620 kmh am Deck hab ich gemessen, insg. 30 Minuten MW50 .. Die hätten lieber warten sollen und die K4 zusammen mit der Tempest und/oder der P51 einführen sollen. Die P47 kann die K4 mit Klappen lustigerweise austurnen aber das wars dann auch schon. Ich zweifle die Entscheidung der Devs hier stark an. Das geht soweit, dass ich wie gesagt meine geliebten 109er, vor allem die K4 momentan nicht oder selten fliege. Falls die K4 zur Verfügung steht, nehme ich mit Absicht lieber "nur" die G14 oder sogar die G6(4), sonst komme ich mir zu dreckig vor, ehrlich gesagt.
Ich überlege mir Battle of Stalingrad zu kaufen...welche Erfahrungen hast du mit der Dora 9 gemacht? Ich bin in anderen Simulatoren immer hauptsächlich die FW 190er Serie geflogen.
Das war ja eine leichte Schießübung! Diese Schpitfeuer - Piloten hat wie eine Novise flogen. P-47 Trunkenbold - hah, arme Schwein Ami hat nichts gesehen! Nicht eben Walz hat diese Anfänger getanzt!
Your video is beautiful. Obviously you're at Ultra settings. Even at max anti-aliasing settings I get bad jaggies in IL-2. What are your settings? Are you using an Nvidia card? I'm trying to make my game look better. My rig is powerful enough. I can only run it at 1080 though. Do you play in 4k? Seriously though this game looks freaking beautiful on your rig. I'm jealous bro

With the mods made to that K4 it is just one _clean_ airframe - mighty slick. Do you notice significant improvements in handling and performance over the G14 model?
Well at travel/climbing power (around 1.2 ata) it feels more sluggish. At combat power (1.4 - 1.6 ata) it's very similar to the G14 and once you hit the MW50 and go to >2.0 ata it's raw power (and runs out of fuel in 25min).
since i am a fan of aircraft and of il-2 i get goosepimples at this starting noise ... tii tii tii tiiiiieeee ... ti ti ti horrido kameraden... ✙urbansolder✙
i was playing that back in 2007-9 i think... and i have to say... it looks still stunning :) especially the "perfect" water :) However - i am no fan of our manouvering.... you bleed way to much energy.... and shooting from dead six is highly ineffective.... the 109 can shoot and hit with quite some deflection... chances to hit something are way higher (target is bigger) and you dont need to turn behind it that way.... if you do that flying in an 190... you'd be doomed vs an LA5 or LA7... :) anyway still nice to see that game on youtube.
I'm surprised the P47 Jug took a couple burst's and crashed...the Jug was one of the toughest fighters in the ETO it could take massive hits stay in a fight and then bring its pilot home.

What about engine shots? Does 1 hit cause failure?
