I feel like Mike is a very humble and conscious sparring partner. When he gets caught, he seems like he's happy to be enlightened and is absorbing and adapting all the info, rather than getting frustrated and turning up the heat.
Mike shows you can be cocky and confident as well as open minded and humble. It's up to you to pick which one to use given different situations. Sparring with a pro fighter is a great opportunity to learn if you dont let your ego get in the way and he shows that here.
@DatingMatis156 that's what happens when u turn sparring into an ego free game. You play with new techniques and strategies. Thats the most fun you can have with partners u trust.
Mike is that loud, abrasive friend who always has something to say, but you listen because it's usually worthwhile. He's a personality but he isn't obnoxious or fake, he seems genuinely passionate about combat. Such a cool dude. Love this collab
this sparring session looks almost choreographed while it's most certainly not. It's eyegasm for any martial arts geek out there... Very appreciated and looking for more. Also there are tons of boxing tips in this sparring if one knows where to look. Awesome. Thank You. Jeff You are great, but Mike will be my hero to the end of days.
Actually I think he did well because of his age and experience at this pace. I am 48 and in class, the younger guys can barely touch me because I have 44 years experience on them and still fit. If we had to go at a higher pace, chances are my many old injuries plus other old guy stuff will most likely slow me down.
Wow you showed off Mike at his absolute best. He's so fucking good. I didn't know he was that sharp, because he usually spars with like 6 foot guys that only need to do basic shit to shut him down. But you two smaller guys really showed some advanced, fast paced stuff. I really loved this.

Ive been training for 15 years and I'm 30 years old. i just believe it's beautiful that we've been able to see this young man through his journey over the years. For me, the technique and mindset started to settle in after about 8 years but everyday is still a learning experience. Also, it takes years of drilling, sparring, and fighting for it to happen. Long story short, thank you Jeff Chan. Would love to train with you some day.
This was great. Mike's first cartwheel kick really surprised me! Can't wait to see you soar each of the guys. The self defense tournament on Rokas channel has been a joy to watch
Watching my two favorite practitioners together is incredible. Mike is truly inspirational and it has been fantastic to watch how much skills he has gained over the years. Just like you, he's always a "student" regardless of the knowledge he already has. Thanks! Hey... I actually like Master Wong too. He's quirky, but there are actual real skills there. :-)
This is such a gem. After watching both channels for so long I really had to rewatch this a few times because I'd see the techniques come out that both of them have explained before and catching both sides of it was not easy lol. Great stuff
The control from both of you in this spar is just inspiring. Such light touches, yet because you both acknowledge them completely and adapt accordingly the spar flows like a proper fight. I wish all sparring was this good.
Love to see it! You guys flowing really well. Always wanted to see this collab and glad to hear Icy Mike and Sensei Seth talk great about you. Good to know that they enjoyed your sparring and felt you were very controlled.
Jeff, met Icy Mike last year and definitely enjoyed this collaboration ... .this level of sparring, I suspect, is what most of both your subscriber bases can replicate daily, especially if they don't train at pro gyms... And it's two nice guys sparring....what could go wrong??? 😄
Best part about Mike is his massive amount of cool moves that he can just throw in there. All well practiced and with room for escapes incase they fail. Super impressive to see how he goes from boxing to kickboxing to just throwing in a cartwheel kick or a teep to the face that is almost invisible as you are focusing on his hands and lower body kicks. Dude is seriously a ninja!
I’ve been studying Jeff for a while now, and I love how he closes the distance with that low kick, been trying to replicate it in Muay Thai training and it’s been landing sufficiently, this man help a lot as he doesn’t just show you what he’s doing but brakes it down too👊🏼
I'm just enjoying this whole ride with both of you. Both @hard2hurt and you teach me so much with these videos, and it's even more fun when I see that the people who teach me so much as martial artists are also good men of great character. Thanks for absolutely everything, gentlemen.
Show of excellent coaching skill from both. Even free sparring with a skilled player they are both letting the other get their training in while seamlessly working on their own tricks and entries. Together their sparring is a pleasure to behold.
Great that you didn’t leverage your superior strength/speed and instead kept it at a level where both of you could have a very productive sparring session. I learned a lot that way and I’m sure both of you did too

Really like the editing style chosen on this stuff, Jeff. The highlights and breakdowns are awesome. Some real interesting tricks being pulled off here. Also, gym owners take note of the fact that you don't have to pay for a full MMA cage to train your folks in some of that experience of being in the cage. Nice workaround there! Hole-in-the-wall gyms take note! (Big ones, too, for that matter! lol)
