I love how Pokemon games show what trainers who don't take on the elite 4 challenge use. Usually just pokemon they find in the area/need help from, like swimmers and hikers. Then you have the Ace trainers who actually try to be build a varied team because they travel, just like the player. Neat

To add in an extra little tidbit, I think part of the reason the Collectors have rare Pokemon is so that you can get the Seen data for it. Shows you what you're missing, and maybe even gives you a little hint at where you might get one yourself.
Yeah, I think I actually did see some pokemon I didn't see in the game thus far through them a few times, a useful class. Tho it's annoying if they have version exclusive pokemon from the opposite game when u have no one to drade with, like they are mocking you😂😭

I feel great pain after seeing the OG hex maniac sprite. Although it makes me appreciate the supernova up, it still feels painful because I never imagined hex maniacs looking any different until now.
As a kid I was convinced that the "Triathlete" class was focusing mainly on pokémons with the move "Tri Attack", namely the starmie, dodrio and magneton lines to go along with swimming, running and ... magneton kinda looking like à bicycle (?) respectively, it felt so perfect to me. 👍 TIL Stamie has no way to actually learn the move in third gen and now I feel sad 😢
Did you not mention that the Winstrates all have names meaning "victory?" If there was ever an in-game event in ORAS to get Victini, it would've involved this family. Also shout-out to Chobin and his Robo-Groudon!

Tbh, the Winstraight family is hands down the most unique trainer class in gen 3 on account of the whole family of trainers bit. Not often you get to fight a whole family who dedicate their lives to Pokemon training. Would love to see more of that or at least a story arc of how they grow stronger with each passing generation.

It's so interesting. There are trainer classes with a specific standout trainers (Youngster's have Joey and Ben, Roughnecks have Kirby, Young Couples have the Onix and Cloyster couple ect.) but it's rare to have an entire class have such a decent amout of eclaim.
Fun tidbit about Pokémon rangers: The guy who gives you the ability to make secret bases in ORAS dresses like a Pokémon Ranger. But not one from Hoenn, he dresses like a Unova Ranger

When I was playing Omega Ruby for the first time you'd sometimes encounter pokemon trainers with the same teams but evolved in the late game and I always thought it was that same trainer who leveled up and made it to the Victory Road. but then I'd realize they had different names and my enthusiasm fell.
I forget in the game cube games the body builders have the exact same model just with some changes between the genders leading just to race of super humans instead of just normal trainers with muscles they both just units
I'd like to point out that, technically speaking, the pokemon game's Poke is based around the Yen, and thus the expenses make a bit more sense, such as pokeballs being roughly $2 each
You forgot to mention that in some games, the breeders will re-challenge you every time you leave a route. Like, they'll challenge YOU. Even if you don't talk to them.
@@nazeersadek6705 At least Black & White 2. Every route has at least one Pokemon Breeder on it who will re-challenge you every time you enter and exit the area. Most of them can be avoided if you walk carefully, though, so you're not forced to battle them every single time you're in the area.

I think? The one in the area Virizion shows up. I know that there are more breeders throughout the game, but I didn't think all of them rechallenged you, but I could be wrong. I didn't bother looking this up since I had played the game for so long. Breeders rebattling you is a concept that stuck with me because it was annoying, which is exactly why I want them to add it back. Maybe have them level their party the more Gym Badges you have.

The reason biker triathletes have electric types is because they're 1) relatively common and 2) pretty fast. Unlike flying types, the electric types can keep pace with a bike without having difficulties being so close to the ground. And also they probably function as taser-esque motivation
as a long time fan of ghost type pokemon, the Occult maniac and then Hex maniac classes have always been my favourite. and yeah, as cute as the first design with the witch hat is i have to say the Goth version is my absolute favourite. It always seemed absolutely mind-boggling to me that such an obviously EXTREMELY popular trainer class stopped existing after XY. like, i know they often at least slightly redesign classes between games but the hex maniac class, to my memory, hasn't come back since then. we DID get Accerola who was basically a character Hex maniac in SuMo, but its not the same. also, i recognise that Goodra you used in the cut-out you degenerate ;D

Haven’t done a deep dive into it, but thought Pokémon Ranger always used Pokémon found on the route you fight them on. Which would make sense with how Ranger uses Pokémon in the spin-offs and anime
I think the Ruin Maniacs should use, too, Ghost and Dark Pokémon, at least in a rematch. They went to the deeper parts of the Toombs (or the ruin they are) and are now facing the Ancient and *EVIL SPIRITS*.
Always loved that the Coloseum/Gale of Darkness trainer classes were so weird in the best way, glad you touched on those too! Still holding out hope that one day we'll get a third game in the Orre Region
I feel like a good made up trainer class for Colosseum/XD would be the Snagger, Pokémon trainers that specialize in capturing a trainer’s pokemon, like Wes and Michael. They have high level pokemon since snagging shadow pokemon is a difficult job. They always challenge you to a double battle, don’t have a specific type they use since you’re never quite sure what be the next shadow pokemon. They also use moves that make catching easier like Thunder Wave, Body slam, or sand attack.
Video idea: in celebration of oricorrio being released in POGO, a video about those birds who type changes depending on the nectar they drink. What would the connection be for the flower to affect the specific type. And what would oricorrios for other types look like/feed on?
The Pokemon Colosseum trainer names try-not-to-laugh material GOLD. (PS: Team Snagem backwards is Megans Maet. You can thank Jellopocalypse for that cursed knowledge)
Ruin maniacs also use Unown... in Gens 3(FRLG in the Sevii Islands), and 4(HGSS in the ruins of Alph) and possibly other spots in the games, I only know of these examples...
With the Rangers, from what I remember they almost always use Pokemon that can be found in the wild of the area you find them in (similar to how in the spin-offs where you can't take wild Pokemon out of their native area). One example is in Black and White, Pinwheel Forest. There are 4 Rangers there, 3 each having one of the 3 elemental monkeys, and the 4th a Herdier. That forest is one of the only places in the game where you can catch the elemental monkeys. The Herdier breaks the rule, but is most likely that Ranger's partner Pokemon.
My favorite interaction between NPCS in Pokémon is in ORAS where a female punk takes her friend a female ace trainer to dinner in celebration of her recently becoming an ace trainer but says that afterwards they can’t be friends anymore as being seen together would destroy her reputation as an elite and the ace trainer is incredibly sadden by this. This really helps the world of Pokémon as I really don’t remember many interactions between NPCS and some of the ones I do are kind of for the wrong reasons, like the young girl of Hammerfell who asks you to bring a letter to someone named Frank in Ballonea and it’s revealed she died years ago and is a ghost this interaction is more creepy than interesting in my opinion.

I feel like a good made up trainer class for Colosseum/XD would be the Snagger, Pokémon trainers that specialize in capturing a trainer’s pokemon, like Wes and Michael. They have high level pokemon since snagging shadow pokemon is a difficult job.
They always challenge you to a double battle, don’t have a specific type they use since you’re never quite sure what be the next shadow pokemon. They also use moves that make catching easier like Thunder Wave, Body slam, or sand attack.

With the Rangers, from what I remember they almost always use Pokemon that can be found in the wild of the area you find them in (similar to how in the spin-offs where you can't take wild Pokemon out of their native area). One example is in Black and White, Pinwheel Forest. There are 4 Rangers there, 3 each having one of the 3 elemental monkeys, and the 4th a Herdier.
That forest is one of the only places in the game where you can catch the elemental monkeys. The Herdier breaks the rule, but is most likely that Ranger's partner Pokemon.

My favorite interaction between NPCS in Pokémon is in ORAS where a female punk takes her friend a female ace trainer to dinner in celebration of her recently becoming an ace trainer but says that afterwards they can’t be friends anymore as being seen together would destroy her reputation as an elite and the ace trainer is incredibly sadden by this. This really helps the world of Pokémon as I really don’t remember many interactions between NPCS and some of the ones I do are kind of for the wrong reasons, like the young girl of Hammerfell who asks you to bring a letter to someone named Frank in Ballonea and it’s revealed she died years ago and is a ghost this interaction is more creepy than interesting in my opinion.
