Had a GK 250ML back in the mid 80's. Wild, 50 watts per channel stereo, Pyle speakers, and Tiny as all get out. Quality product. Looking a bass amps, your vid was very helpful even 2 yrs later! Thanks
Probably the best amp review I've ever seen. You play a few notes, once with switch "x" or knob "y" on/off or up/down. this lets people know the function and hear what it does, instead of the usual wanking.
Thanks for the in depth review, Norm. Much appreciated. Not much audio info out there on this combo. So my concern is that the tone is from the DI and not being mic'd like the 112 review.
I was forgetting to give a little hint to bassists who need a case for the MB110: check cajon cases at your nearest musical instruments dealer's shop ;)
Hi Norm. This is Russ from Tustin (OC). Very nice video with a little bit of humor. "Make sure you're plugged in...it helps with the sound". Again, nice job on the video.
I've played for over 30 years but never was much of a techhead when it came to gear. Thank you Norm for "dumbing" down the bells and whistles on this combo so a moron like me can understand it better. Am definitely interested in picking this up.
hi peoples. My first instrument is guitar so that is where my knowledge of stringed instruments lie, however, I'm considering on getting a bass soon. I'm guessing this doesn't use tubes as 25 watts would be too loud for home use. Can someone explain to me what a suitable amp would be for home use and why. Cheers!
Bass amps require more power due to the low end. They're actually closer to PA speakers in that regard (average PA speaker wattage is 1000w, which sounds insane to most guitarists). 25w is very small for a bass amp. I use an 800w amp in my house.
I purchased this little amp and I'm very happy with it. I just don't understand one thing: why creating extensions cabinets when what they appear to be is, more or less, amps without knobs? It would be better in my opinion to have the ability to chain MB combos together with some sort of auto exclusion of the "slaved amp" knobs , so that flexibility would be even greater, since you could choose to use A, B, or A+B. Another thing that is almost a deal breaker with these amps and many other ones is the textile front cover. If you have cats at home you certainly understand me very well ;)
Norm that is the best review of anything I have ever heard. Made here in USA price is great. Expandable. Only other option is the orange crush but I do not think it is expandable. You are the best guy for the job you do. God bless you too.
Just bought one, can't wait to jam with my Vintage 1975 American Fender Jazz Bass

Nice clean sounding amp, I hope to have one in my collection
We need an MBP 110!
Hi Norm. Which GK combo amp is good for Electric and Upright bass for small/medium venues?
Just got one. This is small and light but a big and heavy sounding amp!

But you never touched the low b string which makes me wonder if it maxes the amp out..
I'm juuuuuuust a little late, but I've got this amp and it handles the B string on my Yamaha and Sterling 5ers just fine.
Hopefully to have one in my collection soon, Gallien Krueger amps all has nice clean pure tone, the tonality of the amp is amazing.
So, would this be sufficient for playing small venues?
Thanks for the video. That idea of adding a MB powered cab is great. I will buy this one.
Good player, but the recording is horrible. How did you mic it?? Sounds crappy and I am sure the GK isn't the problem.
Great explanation of the amp. I wasn't at all familiar with G-K before.
So, Should I buy it for gigs? small venues and podiums?
The 112MBX gallien extension cab has been discontinued - any reasonable priced alternative cabs?

I bought my stack in 2008 amp is a blacklight 600 2x10 and 1x15 and is still hitting hard, loud, and clear...
Is this thing worth $370 when the Fender Rumble 100 is $300?
Really cool!!!

This one or the ebs session 60?
What kind of bass is that??
MTD 535
This amp sounds muddy to me.
For me GK character is like that. I like it.
as a fellow Bass Player I want less talk and more playing. So I can hear if I want to take the time to even try it out. Just Saying.
If i conect this combo to a gabinet of 200 watts, i will have 300 watts?
