Thanks for the shout-out, this is exactly why I put the video up. Good luck on getting the warranty and finding a 3rd generation starter! Dropped you a like and subscribed!
@@EliminatorPerformance I found one on eBay, but you have to be really careful even using the correct part number, as they are still selling the second generation starter. I did get a full refund from the seller, whom I had asked about getting the 3rd gen starter from, but... thanks again for all your help and great information.
Ive had starter issues and had to replace pretty much every Cub Cadet I’ve owned other than the older Cubs with the conventional Kohler motor . I’ve been mowing at the house with a 1999 Cub Cadet GT 3200 with the 54 inch cut , this has the up right Kohler motor with about 300 hours on it now . Glad to see the Goofy cart making its way back in to the shop . Thanks for sharing .
The OLD MAN at Eliminator Performance saying thanks George for the shout out i have subscribed also and hit the like button. Looking forward to seeing the video on Goofy.
Goofy looking really good can not wait to see this up and running. I think we need a project like that at EP, Jake has a 1967 Mustang we just need a place to work on it presently in storage.
Interesting - I have also been dealing with small engine chaos. Lost power in a wind storm, (3 days) power just came back on and I find you on YT. - Working on keeping our generator running. • Cheers from the Detroit & Mackinac Railway 🚂
Hope you are successful with your generator. I have to use mine a few times a year. The last time was a couple of weeks ago, but thankfully not for too long. Thanks Gary
I have had starters come apart like that. An easy fix is to drill a small hole through the nut and end of the threads. Then I would put a roll pin in it. Or you can take a sharp punch put a divot in the nut to make it into a lock nut. I'm going to check out your friend.
Oh boy... if it starts raining beagles my wife will be running around with a bucket LOL! I don't have any experience with those starters, but it seems like you're on the right path. Good to hear the Goofy Cart is making a return... thumb's up George!
Cool video man! I would drill a hole in the nut then screw it on and drill through the thread and shaft and install a roll pin....dont have any of those style myself but I have a big pile of mower starters as cadavers to work from! Hope they give you the 3rd gen as the should to keep a good customer like you happy!
I saw the same the video yesterday George about these starters. Yea I would really like to see you get the Goofy Kart running like it should. How is Kevin doing? Be careful in this heat this week it going to be a scorcher. God Bless!!
May I ask what is the name of his friends video , very appreciative of this video, I don't have 300 dol for a new starter from kohler and 2 I ordered from Amazon are too long.
The name was in the video and in the description. Eliminator Performance. I also have another video that demonstrates the 3 versions, similar to his video. I have since replaced this starter that only worked occasionally and never when it was hot with the new HD, high torque starter that they have since come out with. Solved all the problems. Thanks for taking a look.
Oh yeah. It has been resting in the trailer for a long time for sure. Thanks David. I was just watching the video that I did with you down on my layout in MN. Thank you for the memories.
Have you gotten into the 3rd generation starters yet? They do make a big difference. This was the 3rd starter on this mower in only a very few hours. I am happy with this one so far. Thanks for stopping by. You are right, they should have recalled them and be careful when ordering a new one that you really do get the hi-torque starter.
@@TheShadeTreeFixitMan No both staters I replaced were first or second generation. Actually when the 2nd starter went bad, I found the bendix drive had basically just separated from its mount. Glued with industrial black silicone. Has been over 4 months , so far, so good.
Several have suggested that. If it comes apart again, I will do that, though I would like to find the 3rd generation starter. I did get a refund from the seller, thankfully.

Thanks so much. I got a full refund without question from the seller, now to try and find the 3rd generation starter.
@@TheShadeTreeFixitMan 32-098-10-S is the latest version, you might have to call Kohler or find a dealer that will buy the OEM version!

Thank you Shawn. Starters seem to be a weak point with Cub Cadets.

This nut actually appeared to be a locking nut, but it didn't do the job. Thanks Duke. I did get a full refund.

ROFL if it starts raining Beagle my wife is moving lol
Thank you Danny. Alas, no beagles fell in my yard...
Moving to Tennessee? LOL
Thanks for sharing the info about the starter. I haven't seen that yet but I bet it's coming.
I hope you don't have to deal with it Lloyd. Thanks for stopping by
thanks for the heads up George on the starter, that lock tite may do the trick, see ya on the next video
Thank you so much. I did get a refund with no questions from the seller.
I'm surprised they didn't machine the shaft for reverse threads. Must have been cheaper to weld the nut on.
That was my thought too. I got a full refund on this starter thankfully.

Thank you Bob. It was warm here, but not what I would call a scorcher. This week is very pleasant, barely hitting 80 and no humidity.
Informative video George...
Glad you enjoyed it
I've not had that happen yet but if it does I'll know what to do.
I did get a full refund from the seller, for which I am grateful. Thanks for stopping by
Thanks for the starter information, we have not come across that problem....yet LOL
I hope you don't have to deal with it. I did get a refund from the seller. Now to try and find the 3rd generation starter.
Go get em George!
Thanks Dave
When I turn the keys it makes a hissing sound any ideas
Sounds like a bad connection or a frozen starter. Hope that helps.

Woo Hoo Goofy is coming back!!!
Oh yeah!
Temperary fix. Better fix, weld the top of the nut. It’s permanent.
I agree, but this repair lasted for one whole mowing season so far. The permanent fix is to get the new generation starter...
