congrats sam. ur the reason i watched johns channel. glad u have you own place to shine man
I'll second this! All the love and respect to you, Sam.
Excited to see what you decide to make in this workshop. It’s nice to see stuff getting made with more basic tools as well. It’s relatable
Sam having a small shop myself I learned to put everything on wheels .....Roll it out use it and then roll it back...... looking forward to seeing more of your videos !!!!!
Nice functional assembly table. Maybe you can make some drawers to go underneath but attached towards the top That is prime storage area for small tools you can have right at your fingertips when working at the table.
I give it a year and we will see a video on this channel titled ‘my new workshop’. Your channel is going to explode my man. I can feel it. Nice to see you being ‘you’ in your own space. I wish you all the luck in the world
See you next December 😬
@@SamGreenMaker How's that new workshop coming?
Slowly. Got a bit distracted this year with Ultra Running @@dankmyers1
Love the garage shop projects! Always useful to see how people put together their home shops
Great tip with the tape measure as an eraser thing. And it is refreshing to see a video making something useful that Doesn't require $5,000 worth of power tools or 7 hours of hand plane work or dove tailing.
Two tips for you: 1 - drill some pilot holes before you sink the screws to prevent splitting (especially near the ends). 2 - wear a mask or respirator when cutting our routing MDF, that stuff is not something you want in your lungs. Great build!
Keep it up! Thanks for listening to the feedback about the music playing over your commentary. It was hard to hear you.
Heck yeah man. I just made my bench out of scraps and put casters on it so I could move it around.
Nice to see simple projects with basic tools. Keep up the good work!
Looking forward to joining you in your own space! A tool wall or cabinet would be a great addition and fun to watch you build. 👍🏻
Nice and easy workbench! You could stlll add some side mount casters to be able to move it around. Oh and maybe get a mic. Even the cheapest one improves sound quality 100%. 👍
Happy to see you building out your shop to start making some stuff! Might be cool to see more basic shops builds and beginner woodworking skills
Great stuff so far, Sam. Keep it coming
throw some wheels on it, the outside mounted wheels that "press" down into position are AWESOME for moving a bench around
Thanks Sam! So glad to see you building again. The best content is from the small shop where most people can relate. Good luck!!
Very cool build...can't wait for the next one...congratulations on your launching your own channel...😊
Great job Sam. I look forward to seeing what else you can build!!
Good stuff, Sam. can't wait to see more stuff from you!
Great video Sam . Looking forward to new projects.
This is much like the queen size bedframe I build. I was moving and had only a day left before classes started, so I needed the cheapest and fastest thing I could build that would be strong enough. The main things I did differently was supporting the legs from the top onky with 45 degree arms, placed a 5th leg in the center, and 2x4 framed the top to perfectly support a box spring so I wouldn't need to buy plywood or run slats. It ain't pretty, but it's solid!
Sam I have a 11x21 workshop I’ve been effectively woodworking out of for over 4 years now. I’m in the middle of a miter station rebuild but I’ve messed with so many layouts that I’ve finally found some solid ones that flow very well. I used the katzmoses layout grid tool and that helped me see it before doing it.
Great as always Sam. I love how relatable your content is!
Looking real good Sam. Hopefully you get great use out for many years to come my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Keep making. God bless.
Nice work. Good to see you back building.
Love your content Sam. I hope you keep making content and growing the channel.
Awesome,,,, Liked you with John,,, glad I found your channel,,, can't wait to see what you come up with,,,
Bro that tip about the rubber end of a tape measure is awesome! Thank you so much it's amazing!!
Just a tip, add a 1/4" sheet of plywood to the top to act as a sacrificial piece. When it gets total hammered take it off and pop on a new piece, instead of rebuilding the whole bench/top.
Good job Sam. Finish up with a couple coats of shellac to seal it. Makes it much easier to wipe off glue when are assembling something.
Nice video Sam! Noticed the substantial jump in subscriber’s from last week and its well deserved. Looking forward to your next project.
Boom! Love it Sam! Keep up the great content!
Great video, I work out of a 9 by 18 ft garage and always rebuilding work stations and bench’s to suit what I’m making!
Man, it turned out good! I like the decision for the bottom, I’m actually going to borrow that idea for my workbench. I left it open a while back, because I thought I was going to do cabinets.
This was suggested randomly. I already sealed him out on instagram a week ago but seeing a suggested video means he’s gaining traction. Gotta keep following the vein.
I like it, going to have to make myself something similar I need a bigger assembly table, nice work 👍
Good job..keep building
In a home workshop, castors are your best friend!
15:08 my thought exactly!
Amazing how many dust mdf can produce when you hit it with a router!
Sound on this video: 👍👍😃
Back to basics, love it!
Keep up the videos, great to see ya back!
Hell yeah bro stoked to see you doing your own thing
You're right about the dust on the bottom shelf. My one workbench is against a wall so I thought it would be a good idea to have a shelf under it. Pretty much all that I store on there is dust and junk because I'm too afraid to disturb the dust and whatever is living in the dust.
I also always think I can hold my breath for longer than I actually can when I'm doing something that I know is going to make dust.
Side note, there's a Sam Green road where I live in Johannesburg, South Africa. I only saw it last night when I was driving home from the airport.
I must visit this road
I like seeing you start from a blank slate looking forward to see the shop and ur channel grow
Nice work, Sam! Looking forward to seeing more projects in the future.
So happy youtube recommended you so now I can let the algo know I want every single one of your videos.
Nice crocs, super excited :D
Great work. Keep going. Always chase your dreams
Nice work man! Keep the shop projects coming!
That turned out great Sam! 👍👍👍👍
Looking forward to more content. Best of luck with your channel!
Great looking table. Keep it up man.
Rock on Sam. Looks great!
Nice Job Sam Looks good
Good luck 🎉can’ wait to see the next project!!! Hellow from Romania Europe
Smart choice on the bench and making it the same height as one of your other benches. Think about up grading it by adding caster wheels to it so you don’t have to drag it around and double up your MDF, put a wood trim around it and then glue laminate down on top of it.
great to see you back on UA-cam!!!!! Keep up the projects... and definitely have John shout out your new channel!
@SamGreen01 really!!! 🖕
I'm about to build a work bench just like this, great job! Make sure to take your own advice and wear a mask when doing anything with MDF...ask me how I learned.
Would love to see you make a woodworking mallet, Love your channel!
Very good sam. Looking forward to your next videos
Good to see you doing your own thing man. When I heard you left John I did hope this is what you were going to do.
Good luck, I look forward to seeing all your future videos
It’s nice to see what the famous Sam’s style is. I’m looking forward to you building something of substance. For now these videos will do. I’ve built my shop from the ground up and it walkways starts with a bench. Haha
Thanks for sharing!
When do we get a video about riding the unicycle?
Nice work!
Good solid bench.
Simple and functional...more Sam, more
Nice bench Sam. Sturdy and stout.
Keep them videos coming!
Welcome back man! Hope. You are crushing it now on UA-cam too 💪🏾
Nice one. Waiting for more videos from you.
Sam man, I'm glad you started your own channel. You left over there and I was like, the hell? Where did Sam go?? Anyhow boss man, it's awesome to see your channel. I can't wait to see how you set up your shop. Anyhow, take it easy man.
Heck yea man
Sam, great to see you back on UA-cam. Great tape measure tip, I never knew it was an eraser as well. Do I see a unicycle in the background? We possibly need some unicycle lessons via UA-cam, that would be fun too! Thanks for a good table build video, it shows that not every project needs to be fine detail and regular projects are okay too. Good work!
Good eye! Maybe I’ll ride it in a video
I was watching Jonny builds and he mentioned you went out on your own to make wood working content. Congrats.
Show de bola meu amigo parabéns pelo seu trabalho ganhou mais um inscrito e deixo aquele like valeu 👍🏻👍🏻💯💯🤝
The sharp corner on the lower stretchers scares me lol. I know I'd walk into the shop in low ankle shoes and clip those corners at some point. Nice basic work table. I like using rectangular mesh fence on shelves like that. 2"x4" rectangular holes and sturdy enough to hold most things that don't fit across the latice you've built. I usually find offcuts free from time to time. Might be something to think about if you find yourself wanted to put smaller things down there.
Nice basic workbench Sam. I'm looking forward to watching your growth and expansion. But you must, must, MUST go and get a mask. Breathing is important.
I’m about to try and make this for my garage. Only thing I might add is some powertec leveler legs.
Please share photos if you do!
I love seeing a proper Yinzer garage shop!
Pump out those videos my man. I will watch👍🏻
Hey Sam, it is great to see you back on the small screen again! I've enjoyed the couple of episodes you have issued so far. Have you done a video for the stool you were sitting on at the end of this video. It looks pretty cool.
@SamGreen01 really?! I like surprises!
Happy you have your own channel now man, also love the fact that its more of the average man's shop.
Hey, it's you!
Good to see you kicking goals, keep up the good work Sam.
Great channel. I'm a friend of Fro who pointed me at you. I'm a homeowner so often looking for projects like this. Title suggestion say "basic" or "beginner" before workbench not regular. As an amateur woodworker (I've framed and built a fort, that's my limit) I'm always looking for easy , simple, affordable in titles or things that tell me how long I'll need or what tools "beginner workbench design built it in six hours" type of thing.
Looking forward to your content Sam. Looks great.
Edit: get some affiliate links up too. If you listed the basic gear people need and a pick list you'll end up selling routers or miter saws or whatever you're using that episode.
@SamGreen01 ohhhhh???
When you were rounding the top I was thinking “he’s gonna regret not wearing a mask” next clip: “I should have worn a mask”😂
Going to start taking bets on when you move into the 100,000 sq ft shop. Loving that I'll get to see you build it from the ground up.
I'm curios what you outlook is for your channel? Are you going to focus a lot on building your wood shop, tool holder, shop organization, etc. Or, Do you think you will do some of the crazy creative tables/projects that you built with John? Or is there something totally different we can expect?
Still figuring this out, but it’s gonna probably be a bit of a mix of things. Mostly building stuff
Make John come help you with something in your shop!
You're doing great, Sam! I'm happy to see that you're doing your own thing. If you need some ideas or anything, dm me.
Eraser measuring tape 🤯 Agreed. How did I not know?
Looks well but drilling pilot holes would have prevented the chipping when you where screwing the boards
The music is so relaxing
Buddy, I’m sure you’re using your phone. There are ways to connect external mics to your phone - like you don’t have to buy a fancy camera to have a good mic connected to it. Happy to help show you some options!
Sam, I love the simplicity of this project and the practicality of it. I like how you took us through your thought process. Gonna say it now, you need a discord server 😂
I’ll have to look into that. Never used discord
@@SamGreenMaker it’s a great way to build a community around your channel.
4th! Yes, nailed it!
How long until you hire Jordan? Let's goooo!
He’s weird 😂
There’s a lot videos of builders telling you how to check if something is square, how to prevent tear out etc. or they’ll make a mistake, tell you about it but not tell you how they fixed it. I’d love more videos of tips on how to save a project if you make a mistake. Especially as an amateur builder. I always hear “make sure its square before_____”. Cool. I checked it. Its not square, how do I fix that?
You have a video for that chair you are sitting on? Happy to see you still building and that we're able to follow along!
The stool was built on John Malecki’s channel The video about 3 ways to build a stool
Thanks @@SamGreenMaker going to build one and set it will my standing desk.
There is the burning idea for an expedition. The engulfing excitement for what lies ahead. Expecting the unknown and hoping for the familiar, perhaps done in a different and exciting way. But that is just the idea. Then comes the hard rucksack of reality, the one that must be filled with supplies, the first vital piece in realising the puzzle. It's buried deep in the garage of worry or maybe lost completely in the desert of procrastination. The barrier that is too high, the death nail for many an adventure. Once this is loaded and shouldered though, then the feet can touch the path and the rest of the journey draws ahead. The hardest ever part is done because turning back would be harder still.
Sam you are walking, congratulations indeed. Whatever and wherever you travel may the path take you to places that you didn't expect and push you, so that you can be more than you ever knew possible.
(Please just don't fall into the trap of epoxy river table mediocrity)
love the vids! good to see you building again. you should get a lapel mic my man - the echo takes away from the production value, which is a shame because the video editing is top notch.
It’s top of the list to upgrade the mic and work on the echo in there
