    I swear this is one of the best secrets in the sport sedan category. I drove one and it handled much better than my Stinger or the IS500.

      Yea this is good especially at the right price I wasn't a fan of this AWD model but RWD is much better, in general less weight the better with these G70s

      Glad to know about the Stinger. The Stinger was my first choice as really like and could use the trunk design and space. But timing wise, by the time I was in the market all Stingers sold. I am vey happy with my 24 G70 2.5 sport prestige.

    I ended up leasing a 2024 G70 3.3T RWD Sport Prestige for $559.99/month with $3K total due at signing here in South FL for inceptions, taxes, first months payment etc. It’s specced exactly like the one at the 3:58 mark with the new Vatna Grey exterior with Red Nappa Leather interior. I thought I’d miss some of the newer tech from the German competitors I test drove, but the lay out and features of the car just feel so useable. The equivalently priced M340i without leather seats would’ve been about $250/month more. The closest competitor in terms of pricing was a Premium Plus specced Audi S5 Sportback but I didn’t want to pay over $700/month. Plus, the car would still be missing HUD etc. I’m really enjoying the ventilated seats and that I’m driving a lighter and shorter car, coming from an S60 T5 Momentum which was very comfortable but definitely slower, heavier, and certainly drove like it. The G70 is starting to show its age but like the Audis, is still aging well IMO. Some of the updates to the interior for 2024 like the leather wrapped air bag cover for the steering wheel , the new AC touch screen, the frameless rear view mirror, and the new “metal looking” touch points for the sun roof control and center console controls make the car feel more premium. There’s just a level of detail to this car that I can appreciate. Sure there’s still some Hyundai-ness I can find if I look closely enough, and I wish we had a full digital gauge cluster and some ambient lighting, but this is still a GREAT deal in this segment. Someone at work who drives an EQE350 was blown away by the stitch work on the seats and the dash.
    The gas mileage is ATROCIOUS, though! Yes I can get 25 mpg on the high way in eco and normal mode but the engine is just thirsty af.
    Overall loving the car so far! It’s definitely on the firm side but not as firm as the M340i without the M Adaptive suspension that I test drove previously. It’s a quiet car in normal mode aside from the tire noise (I’m sure having 19-inch wheels doesn’t help) and is very comfortable overall!

      @MeynMotorGroup  Місяць тому

      Yes I believe I saw your post on the LH forum beautiful car my friend with the red seats, well done getting the best spec a RWD prestige. You got all the features and a fast car, you did good. It's easily undercutting the competition while offering more for the money so any compromises can be overlooked. Once again, congratulations!

    Brother why is it only you that is not scared to tell thr truth about the quality of the interior? Almost everyone puts it on the bottom and no reviewer really takes the nappa leather into consideration when the others in the class don’t even offer it!

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  Місяць тому +1

      I guess it's mainly because this Nappa interior is reserved for the top of the line prestige model. We do have hard touch plastics down below but regardless, I still believe this is one of the best efforts regarding interior in the class.

    I test drove the 2.0T version. The front end felt disconnected from the back end. The steering felt like the center of gravity was too tall. It felt like a truck steering rack, very top mounted. The trans was not refined either. Overall though the car was 75% there, it needs that 25% refinement to bring it all together. Decent car feels luxury all around but Id buy an IS or C-Class over it

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  Місяць тому +1

      The disconnected front thing is what SG said 2 years ago in his video but what you brought up is true especially with the G70 it feels 75% there but it’s mostly half baked. This is why I’m not the biggest fan of the G70, their other products are much better as they double down on luxury and have focus. For those who love to drive this isn’t great, this is only good for someone who wants a cheap payment and speed.

    Went with the AWD model because I have all seasons, that being said I have a 2022 model and I'm just jealous over the steering wheel upgrade, It is pretty nice but then again I paid a lot less than what a 2024 is selling for. I also prefer my mechanical AC controls over what they included in the 2024 model so it is what it is. Also the new wheels are ugly IMO, the black wheels distinguished themselves from the low/mid range models.

    You literally have to see this car in person. While the car looks good on camera 4K HDR and all it just doesn't capture everything like you would if you see it in person. In person the overall sleek silhouette draws you attention immediately and then the details stand out. Again the camera does not capture the bold sleekness and the stance of this car in person.

  • @CyberSkunk90
    @CyberSkunk90 Місяць тому +1

    Best part about this car is you can buy it used after one year for under $45k. I bought my 2023 model same year only 4 months old and 4000 miles for $45k. Now you can get them under $40k if you buy a 2022 or 2023. Depreciation is insane for used car buyers. And I'm talking to the fully loaded trim, same model you have shown here. Mine is AWD, never felt this car slip once

  • @johnl.38
    @johnl.38 Місяць тому

    Absolutely do not pay sticker or above for these. If you get a good deal then go for it. I did the math and a comparable m340i is approaching $70k, albeit with more space, speed, and recognition factor. Love my 2023 v6 awd so far but criticisms: A lot of the dealers are ass- felt like I got treated worse than any of the BMW or Lexus dealers I talked to. I am near a shitty Audi dealership and even they were generally better. I did end up finding a reasonable dealer but further away from me. While the infotainment is near perfect for what I want (reminds me of Idrive 7 layout), it lacks wireless apple carplay/android auto for 2023. Finally, it has only old school usb ports rather than usb c but I guess there's adapters so whatever.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  Місяць тому

      The paying sticker days are def over, you need a deep discount on these Genesis products for it to make sense because they tank in value, granted, the competition crashes in value too, these are luxury cars. You did good tho with 8k off

    I have driven a brand new 1100 mile genesis suv for a week and have mixed feelings. The Koreans have mastered the outer bling design appearance. It’s stylistic and beautiful without question. The standout is the audio system. It’s astounding l, with their 21 speaker design. But it packs poor mileage, seems woefully heavy, delivers sloppy handling, and suffers terrible “on/off” turbo lag. Seats aren’t as well designed or supportive as the Germans’ or British offerings. The interior is quite nice, but not astounding. The engine certainly delivers as you say, at the top end. I hate turbos and have older bmw 6’s and 8’s, and still prefer them. The electronics have already broken partially in the audio system. The trim around the upper doors is a bad design and coming off. One door doesn’t shut properly and needs work. They’re trying hard to imitate the euros and, to me, aren’t 4:52 succeeding. I also hate SUV’s. So I’m a less than ideal source I’d fathom. But after driving a 2022 x5, to me, this feels like a wannabe.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  Місяць тому +1

      Yea my friend 3 things that you said are key, handling is sloppy with Genesis, lag and non-linear power delivery isn’t great, and mileage isn’t the best or the worst.
      I would say this G70 is their worst product since it lacks focus it’s a half baked sports sedan and luxury car.
      Their other products are far better because they are focused and double down on luxury. Their SUVs, big sedans, and EVs are pretty great and any subtle compromises they come with won’t be noticed easily by the masses.
      BMW is good but after the honey moon phases, all of these cars will get boring after 1-3 years these are all lease and dumps and you move on.

    • @Bmwguy2011
      @Bmwguy2011 Місяць тому

      @@MeynMotorGroup amen! I didn’t mention that elephant in the room: the new BMW’s are downright boring. Their interiors are all the same, from the lowly 2 to the lofty 8 series. Between recycled soda bottle interiors, electric steering, automatic transmissions, turbochargers, and a patently ridiculous amount of screens, gadgetry and needless distractions, they have lost their soul. I just collect older bmw’s now and marvel at the new car prices, glad that I have analog screens, naturally aspirated engines, hydraulic (real) steering and manual transmissions.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  Місяць тому +1

      @@Bmwguy2011 man I grew up on those early model BMWs you are currently collecting. I really lusted after those vehicles I knew they were easily the best from a young age and as I started driving many new and used cars, I’ve realized new cars will never capture the essence of the 80s to early 2000s cars. We expect a lot out of BMW due to their marketing as the ultimate driving machine but almost all new cars have lost their soul.

    I DO think it's a good luxury sedan, decent price, pretty interior/exterior/features, and the 3.3T version has decent acceleration past the lag. However, I don't think it's a good _sports_ sedan, it's barely a sports sedan at all...
