It's honestly a solid match up factoring in price. 20k difference between these cars. The G70 Jb4 isn't a full tune so it is definitely at a disadvantage. However, my only real issue is in all the races the driver of the G70 was shifting manually every race and seemed to short shift in 2 of the races rather than allowing the car to shift itself. I think it would have performed better had he let the car do its own shifting.
Yeah I agree with you and my message. I asked why don't they do one where they can manual shift and then one timed with out because he seem like he was shifting too soon. But one of my major problems are these times. At no point was the g70 catching up to the BMW but yet it did timewise and then how a 3.60 to 60 has a quarter mile time in the 12s I have a Kia sticker scorpion 100% stock. I do 4.40 to 60 on average. And quarter mile times are 12- 12.2 All dragon verified. I do not understand how they get these times. It just doesn't make sense. And remember I'm 100% stock did g70 which basically is the same drivetrain as my car had mods.
The reason he’s shifting so early is to stay within peak boost. I have a stinger and if you shift around 5500ish you can stay at peak boost for the whole run which typically leads to a slightly faster time
@@re-dx3pc I have never seen a stock stinger run a 12.2 let alone a 12.0. That seems way to fast for a 4.4 0-60. 4.4 0-60 is usually closer to mid to high 12s. And high 3 second 0-60 is about a 12 flat. if you check out the car and driver tests for cars running high 3s youll see it tracks depending on their trap speed. Examples include stock m340i and rs3 which both run high 3s and low 12s
Jb4 isnt an actual tune you guys need to stop saying that. Jb4 is just a boost controller that turns up the boost. Proper reputable tune>>>jb4>trash tune.

Tell these guys to get off the paddle shifters. Leave the things in auto for the drag races. Start in manual for the rolling races, then bang it over go auto once you've started accelerating. The computer will ALWAYS shift at better points than the meat behind the wheel.
Facts, I don't understand it. got a 2019 G70 3.3 when it first dropped in nyc I can tell you as an early adopter the paddles is not the way to go in that car
Some gears will actually tend to lose boost if you ride out the whole gear. I think it’s second going into third. So good to shift early. But I agree, this is too early.
Are you sure? Most stock turbo and tuned cars need to be short shifted to stay in the meat of the powerband. My tuned BMW 535 with a stock PWG turbo makes about 370 WHP at 5K RPM and and about 275 WHP at 7K RPM where to stock shift points are. Short shifting it is key to going fast.
@Ry.Guy Absolutely Wrong. I shift my G70 at 5000 to 5500. I have a Lap3 1.5 and go 11.40 in the 1/4 mile on E30 trapping at 120. The tune this car Has is a joke.
@@willybiddle2001 I have a CPI Stinger with E85 BEF and Lozic TCU tune on E60. If I don’t short shift around 4900 in 1st and 5000 in 2nd then I lose my entire power band. Boost goes from 20s to 15 around 5500-6200rpm. 3rd gear is around 5200 for me, probably shifts closer to 5300 after hitting the paddies.
Firstly, this is a horrible mismatch because the BMW has a superior tune, an additional TCU tune, and downpipes(significant power adder) whilst the Genesis lacks all of these. Pathetic Secondly, before the mindless BMW fans slather the comment section with BMW's fluids, the cheapest m340i's in the country are $62K, whilst the cheapest Genesis g70 3.3t's are $49K. Both are averaged prices(meaning they're not the very lowest price but the first frequently low price) thats a significant gap and of course, the Genesis has more standard equipment as far as options go. M340i is a brilliant car, as is the G70(it kept up surprisingly well given the engine, price, and modding disadvantages) but its not at all one sided like people will fool you into believing. Bost impressive showing here was the G70, objectively. This comment may be buried under, "BMW ez win destruction always" with like 20 likes lol. Shows the state of this channels comment section.

I owned a JB4 modded G70 3.3t. The tranny is not great , it holds the car back. I sold it after 2 years because of issues and dealers were terrible (Hyundai service centers) My co worker owns a M340i, it’s on another level. That B58 and ZF8 is amazing. I wish I would’ve spent the extra cash for the M340i or M240i
The Genesis owner always short shifts even in previous videos. Look at the phone in the Genesis, he keeps shifting around 5500 rpm when the peak power is at 6000+ rpm. I own a Stinger and it feels sluggish when shifting below 6000 rpm, he has to shift around 6300 rpm
lol from my testing it's faster when shifting near the red line which is 6500 rpm. On Drive my Stinger automatically shifts around 6200-6300 rpm at high speeds anyway.@@roboticvenom1935
@@roboticvenom1935 my point still stands, the Genesis driver shifting at 5500 rpm made it a lot slower in this race as the peak power for this engine is from around 5400 rpm to 6000 rpm. Him shifting at 5500 rpm drops the rpms back to 4700 rpm after every shift (you can clearly see that in the video) which is way below the peak power rpm. If he shifted at around 6100 rpm it would stay in the power band for the whole race

Regardless the BMW costs $11K more then the Genesis and it has significantly better mods so the Genesis was already at an unfair fight. The b58 motor in the BMW is just much better, so is the driving dynamics. The Genesis is still a 2018 car with a 2017 engine. I am excited for its update which will make it more competitive

A stage 2 M340i should be doing around 11s on the 1/4 mile. I saw an X3 M40i on a stage 2 running an 11.1s. The 1/4 times in this video are close to a stock M340i.
Might be track or something. A lozic TCU with a jb4 or ecu tune combo should be anywhere from 11.5 to 12.0. I would also expect a m340 with any tune whatsoever to be a 11sec car
You already know it's not a 50hp difference. The b58 is 382 on paper, but really it's more like 430-450hp. With a jb4 and those aftermarket parts, it's really more at 550+hp, especially with a tcu tune. Definitely the g70 was only making 425hp barely touching 450 with stage 1 jb4. Although I have seen some g70 and stingers making 400hp stock vs 368hp on paper numbers in dyno.

Sam, I ❤the channel, but I am going to comment this on every video until you change.... Please do not start your roll races from a specific gear, but rather whatever gear works BEST for that particular car. Torque curves, transmission ratios, and final drive ratios ALL matter, and no two cars are alike. Arbitrarily starting in a specific gear for both cars can severely handicap one car vs the other and not give a true result. Overall you're doing great, but you really need change the way you do your roll races.

What is unfair is starting a roll race in a gear where the car is not at or near its peak TQ. As an owner of a GT350, I know that if I had to start a 32 mph roll in second gear, I'd be eaten alive by several mid level mundane daily drivers. Your SS 1LE vs M2 video is a great example. With the 1LE being Chevy's version of the 350, that one really drives home the point for me. Otherwise, keep up the good work. You've got a great format for your videos.
You can’t make it fair when you believe that cars will do better at certain gear without exactly knowing what the power level is at that gear. If one car is better at 1st gear but the power output is 85 - but then the second car is in 2nd gear for better out, but the output is only 78%, how do you make that fair? We don’t have an actual meter to measure that. So the fair test is to put them at equal gear and have them perform at that level. Thats the entire point of a drag race.

@@SamCarLegion That doesn't make any sense Sam. If you know the torque curve for your car then you know what gear is best for a given speed. Even without knowing the exact torque curve all you have to do is drive the car and send it a few times and boom you know which gear is giving you a better launch from a given speed. It's not rocket science, it's either faster or it's not. And "equal gear" is NOT the point of a roll race. It's "equal speed".
I find it humorous that you think they aren't, Why because the engine/tranny combo is barely better? The interior of the G70 is far above that BMW and in fact most of it is. Have you owned both or even one LOL I have both so try your Logo chasing elsewhere and newsflash the man that made the M Series what it is runs Genesis and eventually it will finish the job it started to take the top spot. Now come back with all your little posts about how is handles and whatever else you can repeat but they mean zero. G70 is nicer inside and I will say they are both nice outside but soon it will be 100%. I own both and the BMW only has a better engine and tranny that is it.

As much as I love the G70! It hasn’t beaten a M340i in any race no matter if it’s tuned, stock or otherwise. The M340i is just a masterpiece of driving machinery. Maybe if Hennessy Performance has a true tune for the Genesis it’ll stand a legit chance.
LMAO, you should spend 30 minutes looking up the history of John Hennessey. He's NOT a friend to the tuning community. If you want to see the G70 have a fair shot against the M340i, it should have the same mods, particularly a real ECU and TCU tune like LAP3. It may not win, but it would be a hell of a lot closer.
I have a stinger and know which RPMs you should be shifting at depending on which gear you r going to, but he seemed like he was not hitting the right numbers. But either way let's say he was. I wish they would do one with out shifting just to see If there's any difference. And those numbers that I know of are all stock numbers. And 5500 is too high now with it being modded. I don't know if there's an adjustment then for that but I've never seen numbers actually for modded all the numbers I've ever seen were for stock. Since depending on how you made adjustments with your mods TCU tune JB4 whatever you do that would change the power band and shift points. I have a 22 scorpion stinger 100% stock and I do 4.4 60s and 12.1 quarter mile time so I don't know how a mighty g70 had that slow of a quarter mile time or how the BMW had a 3.6 0 to 60 and didn't get out of the 12s. That is impossible to me then I don't know if the g70 had traction control completely off. I doubt it cuz he wasn't doing a true launch mode but if he was and if you're just a hair late and you hit red line it bounces it off the rev limiter Well I'm racing from a dig. I usually just let the car shift because of that very reason or you have the problem in first where you can hook up and you almost have to shift right away like instantly. Or you're going to bounce off that rev limiter before you get a second now this is all just when you have full trashy control and stability off and you have to do the shifting. Once you press that paddle it will not upshift at least in the stinger it won't. I'm assuming the g70 is the same since it's exactly the same drive train
4.4 0-60 with a 12.1 1/4 mile makes no sense. That means ur spinning off the line or just super slow, then pick up insane speed suddenly to make it up.
@@DMCarReviews So I have the 22. I'm telling you they are completely different than the other models. I'll see you if I can post my draggy times and post the dyno now it wasn't my card. I got dynoed but it was another scorpion that had no mods done to it and I'm not sure if the dyno runs high but it had supposedly 510 torque 430hp. And I have problems with the dry he validating runs where I do them. No cops can hide. I let traffic get what I think it's a good distance away but I end up catching up half the time so I end up having a coast or breaking a little bit. Now I did cap my recirculating hoses to give the blow-off sound. That's the only thing I did other than stock and I think that actually hurts me so I do have a slight hesitation off the line but then it hits hard. And I've done faster than a 4.4 0 to 60 also. I don't understand why draggy invalidates in incline over one degree. The incline hurts you. I understand the decline being invalidated but why does it invalidate inclines My fastest 0 to 60 was a 4.18 and then the 1 ft roll out how the core companies do it. I was a 3.93 now it was somewhere around 10 to 12° f out that particular run and when I start my times I am on the shoulder. So there is gravel mine's all-wheel drive. But I still can easily spend a tires. I'm telling you unless you drove the 22 and like I said mine's a scorpion. I don't think there's any added power but it is just different. The times I get older models need to do several mods and if you all look at other scorpions that have the same mods, they're in the high 10s 1/4 and mid threes consistently. I would have to drive an older stinger to see how they feel different. But if you look up twin turbo UA-cam page, the one guy that races the stinger on there hangs with a tuned rs5 and he has mods on his stinger. He has the tribute edition which is the same thing as mine except they have alcantara inside which I don't like. Anyways, with the scorpion model only the Canadians got the alcantara. I just don't like the look. I know my times people can deny me all they want that those aren't possible. So what would a 4.4 0 to 60 equate to in a quarter mile My other vehicle a 2010 Acura tl all-wheel drive which supposedly only has 60 less horsepower and 100 less foot pounds of torque. My best best time was a 5.2 0 to 60 with a quarter mile. It was 13.9 And I got that on an extremely cold day. Otherwise it would be around high 5s in that vehicle was extremely fast and I didn't lose to anything up until the last couple years. Somewhere around 2019 cuz he started having altimas that had 280 horsepower and weighed 7 to 800 lb less So like I said, unless you drove a 22 GT2 scorpion, I'm assuming the regular GT2s are the same. They claimed there's no performance difference, but the only dyno I have is another scorpion that's in the area

Considering that M340i engine outperforms every other engine in its class, G70's performance is fairly good. Used G70 3.3t with 30k miles is only about $32k. What a bargain.🎉🎉
@datsuntoyy incorrect plenty of videos on UA-cam record is actually at 10.7 seconds with a lap3 tune not sure how much hp they had just know there wasn't any serious modifications hell they didn't even do any weight reduction to get that time could probably shave off at least .1-2 seconds if they had.

Hi Sam, greetings, good video, except that the person who drives the Genesis made the changes very turncoat, meaning that not even the grandmother of anyone who is watching your videos would do it or even let the car rev between gears 🤷🤷🤦🤦🤦🫣🫣 What took away from the interesting part of the video is the person who has the Genesis tattooed on his arm, what a fiasco, from there on out. If you can put someone who makes the cars run as they should be, it would be more interesting since it was seen that they let themselves gain minute 6.54, so what a joke, friend.

JB4 is a horrible alternative to a REAL tune, horrible. Drivability is horrible as it interpretes signals and passes them on. A real tune has far superior drivability and smoothness, and more power.
Yup that m340i is not tuned well. Im thinking more like 450 hp. Those numbers are basically what my m240i does stock and my car is far faster with a jb4
My m340 gets 3.5 0-60 and 11.8 1/4 without the trans tune and a JB4 with a locked DME. They aren't driving it properly or something wrong with the car.
@@stefanomarcellino6701 When I ran that time the rain was drying up there was a flood few hours ago on a bad surface with 225 tires all season run flats. No worse condition then that unless were talking rain or snow.
I'm not sure if the numbers posted for the G70 are a true reflection of the car with its current mods, but as a owner of a 2020 M340ixdrive, it does seem like it should have posted faster times and I believe it is that neither Sam or the owner were using launch control or at least not using it properly. The m340i launches way harder and would have shaved off time.

Apples and oranges comparison. The M340i is about $10K more expensive than the G70. Also the BMW has an actual tune, while the JB4 is a piggyback and not an actual tune. Not a fair comparison at all. M340i also makes much more power than the 382HP that is advertised. Fun to watch either way.

@@supersportlt1 If you knew anything about the b58 motor in the 340i, you wouldn't say that. The b58 is 382hp "on paper" which in reality, it's making 420-450hp stock while the g70 makes 368hp stock. That's already almost 100hp down stock vs stock. Now if you factor in tune and aftermarket parts into both cars like in this video, the 340i is definitely near 550hp (remember, bmw lied about hp figures) while the g70 is about 425hp, barely touching 450hp. It being down 100+ hp, and more weight, it didn't lose by much.
How are you getting times cuz none of this makes sense here several problems with these numbers. The g70 was 0.61 seconds slower to 60 by the time they got to the quarter mile was only 0.42. as far as I saw, the BMW is pulling away from the g70 now it's not a lot but at no time is the g70 evening that out and stopping the BMW from pulling away. I have a Kia stinger scorpion mine's 100% stock I do on average a 4.4 0-60. I've hit a 3.9 when it was 15° f. My quarter mile time is 12.01 faster than both of The times these cars achieved. I don't understand how a 3.6 0 to 60 only gets you a 12.06 quarter mile. That makes zero sense. That should be the mid 11s at worst a 3.6. 0-60 and is that with one foot of roll out or is that a standing 0 to 60 time that'll matter a little bit but still let's say that's a one foot roll out. You're still talking sub 4 second for the BMW there's zero chance a car that does a sub 4 second zero 60 will be in the 12s in a quarter mile. It just wouldn't happen unless it's geared completely wrong but it's not the case here. And the g70 should have been basically right at 12 if not in the high 11s. You should have them do a race also. That's timed with them not shifting cuz it look like the guy in the g70 was shifting way too early. Like I said I have a stinger And as far as I know, stinger and a g70 both drivetrain wise are exactly the same and then they're tuned on top of it. How did it g70 tuned with all that only do a 12.48 quarter? I don't care if it was a 90° day out there. I would still be in the mid-12 if not a little lower and I'm 100% stuck. Are they going up a slight incline or is it 100% flat? And if they're dragging times can you post those?

I'm asking because except formula 1 where steering had VERY small amout of degrees lock to lock, in ANY kind of motorsport is not useful such driving position, more than that.. is even LETHAL position for handling at high speed or for emergency maneuvres.

At no point was the g70 catching up to the BMW but yet it did timewise and then how a 3.60 to 60 has a quarter mile time in the 12s I have a Kia sticker scorpion 100% stock. I do 4.40 to 60 on average. And quarter mile times are 12- 12.2 All dragon verified. I do not understand how they get these times. It just doesn't make sense. And remember I'm 100% stock did g70 which basically is the same drivetrain as my car had mods.
The reason he’s shifting so early is to stay within peak boost. I have a stinger and if you shift around 5500ish you can stay at peak boost for the whole run which typically leads to a slightly faster time
@@re-dx3pc I have never seen a stock stinger run a 12.2 let alone a 12.0. That seems way to fast for a 4.4 0-60. 4.4 0-60 is usually closer to mid to high 12s. And high 3 second 0-60 is about a 12 flat. if you check out the car and driver tests for cars running high 3s youll see it tracks depending on their trap speed. Examples include stock m340i and rs3 which both run high 3s and low 12s

Tell these guys to get off the paddle shifters. Leave the things in auto for the drag races. Start in manual for the rolling races, then bang it over go auto once you've started accelerating. The computer will ALWAYS shift at better points than the meat behind the wheel.

Some gears will actually tend to lose boost if you ride out the whole gear. I think it’s second going into third. So good to shift early. But I agree, this is too early.
Are you sure? Most stock turbo and tuned cars need to be short shifted to stay in the meat of the powerband. My tuned BMW 535 with a stock PWG turbo makes about 370 WHP at 5K RPM and and about 275 WHP at 7K RPM where to stock shift points are. Short shifting it is key to going fast.
It's around 5300-5500 on the first 3 shifts on the G70 3.3t. Definitely don't want to ride it out through peak rpm.
@Ry.Guy Absolutely Wrong. I shift my G70 at 5000 to 5500. I have a Lap3 1.5 and go 11.40 in the 1/4 mile on E30 trapping at 120. The tune this car Has is a joke.
@@willybiddle2001 I have a CPI Stinger with E85 BEF and Lozic TCU tune on E60. If I don’t short shift around 4900 in 1st and 5000 in 2nd then I lose my entire power band. Boost goes from 20s to 15 around 5500-6200rpm. 3rd gear is around 5200 for me, probably shifts closer to 5300 after hitting the paddies.

Firstly, this is a horrible mismatch because the BMW has a superior tune, an additional TCU tune, and downpipes(significant power adder) whilst the Genesis lacks all of these. Pathetic
Secondly, before the mindless BMW fans slather the comment section with BMW's fluids, the cheapest m340i's in the country are $62K, whilst the cheapest Genesis g70 3.3t's are $49K. Both are averaged prices(meaning they're not the very lowest price but the first frequently low price) thats a significant gap and of course, the Genesis has more standard equipment as far as options go. M340i is a brilliant car, as is the G70(it kept up surprisingly well given the engine, price, and modding disadvantages) but its not at all one sided like people will fool you into believing. Bost impressive showing here was the G70, objectively.

I owned a JB4 modded G70 3.3t. The tranny is not great , it holds the car back. I sold it after 2 years because of issues and dealers were terrible (Hyundai service centers)
My co worker owns a M340i, it’s on another level. That B58 and ZF8 is amazing. I wish I would’ve spent the extra cash for the M340i or M240i

The Genesis owner always short shifts even in previous videos. Look at the phone in the Genesis, he keeps shifting around 5500 rpm when the peak power is at 6000+ rpm. I own a Stinger and it feels sluggish when shifting below 6000 rpm, he has to shift around 6300 rpm

lol from my testing it's faster when shifting near the red line which is 6500 rpm. On Drive my Stinger automatically shifts around 6200-6300 rpm at high speeds anyway.@@roboticvenom1935

@@roboticvenom1935 my point still stands, the Genesis driver shifting at 5500 rpm made it a lot slower in this race as the peak power for this engine is from around 5400 rpm to 6000 rpm. Him shifting at 5500 rpm drops the rpms back to 4700 rpm after every shift (you can clearly see that in the video) which is way below the peak power rpm. If he shifted at around 6100 rpm it would stay in the power band for the whole race

Regardless the BMW costs $11K more then the Genesis and it has significantly better mods so the Genesis was already at an unfair fight. The b58 motor in the BMW is just much better, so is the driving dynamics. The Genesis is still a 2018 car with a 2017 engine. I am excited for its update which will make it more competitive

A stage 2 M340i should be doing around 11s on the 1/4 mile. I saw an X3 M40i on a stage 2 running an 11.1s. The 1/4 times in this video are close to a stock M340i.

Times seem off my m440i with just jb4 and running e30 ran 11.4 at 121. Stock 12.1. With a real tune the exhaust this m340 should be way faster.
Might be track or something. A lozic TCU with a jb4 or ecu tune combo should be anywhere from 11.5 to 12.0. I would also expect a m340 with any tune whatsoever to be a 11sec car

50 Hp more for the G70 and I think it would be a close race. It´s really not easy to beat a BMW.
You already know it's not a 50hp difference. The b58 is 382 on paper, but really it's more like 430-450hp. With a jb4 and those aftermarket parts, it's really more at 550+hp, especially with a tcu tune. Definitely the g70 was only making 425hp barely touching 450 with stage 1 jb4. Although I have seen some g70 and stingers making 400hp stock vs 368hp on paper numbers in dyno.

Please do not start your roll races from a specific gear, but rather whatever gear works BEST for that particular car. Torque curves, transmission ratios, and final drive ratios ALL matter, and no two cars are alike. Arbitrarily starting in a specific gear for both cars can severely handicap one car vs the other and not give a true result.
Overall you're doing great, but you really need change the way you do your roll races.

As an owner of a GT350, I know that if I had to start a 32 mph roll in second gear, I'd be eaten alive by several mid level mundane daily drivers. Your SS 1LE vs M2 video is a great example. With the 1LE being Chevy's version of the 350, that one really drives home the point for me.

You can’t make it fair when you believe that cars will do better at certain gear without exactly knowing what the power level is at that gear. If one car is better at 1st gear but the power output is 85 - but then the second car is in 2nd gear for better out, but the output is only 78%, how do you make that fair? We don’t have an actual meter to measure that. So the fair test is to put them at equal gear and have them perform at that level. Thats the entire point of a drag race.

@@SamCarLegion That doesn't make any sense Sam. If you know the torque curve for your car then you know what gear is best for a given speed. Even without knowing the exact torque curve all you have to do is drive the car and send it a few times and boom you know which gear is giving you a better launch from a given speed. It's not rocket science, it's either faster or it's not.
And "equal gear" is NOT the point of a roll race. It's "equal speed".
Peak power doesn't matter AS MUCH... as AVERAGE power at all RPM, gearing, traction, throttle response, shifting time, and car weight.
G70 is like the Stinger and should do easely 12.9 - 12.7 in stock form.

As much as I love the G70! It hasn’t beaten a M340i in any race no matter if it’s tuned, stock or otherwise. The M340i is just a masterpiece of driving machinery. Maybe if Hennessy Performance has a true tune for the Genesis it’ll stand a legit chance.

I have a stinger and know which RPMs you should be shifting at depending on which gear you r going to, but he seemed like he was not hitting the right numbers. But either way let's say he was. I wish they would do one with out shifting just to see If there's any difference. And those numbers that I know of are all stock numbers. And 5500 is too high now with it being modded. I don't know if there's an adjustment then for that but I've never seen numbers actually for modded all the numbers I've ever seen were for stock. Since depending on how you made adjustments with your mods TCU tune JB4 whatever you do that would change the power band and shift points. I have a 22 scorpion stinger 100% stock and I do 4.4 60s and 12.1 quarter mile time so I don't know how a mighty g70 had that slow of a quarter mile time or how the BMW had a 3.6
0 to 60 and didn't get out of the 12s. That is impossible to me then I don't know if the g70 had traction control completely off. I doubt it cuz he wasn't doing a true launch mode but if he was and if you're just a hair late and you hit red line it bounces it off the rev limiter Well I'm racing from a dig. I usually just let the car shift because of that very reason or you have the problem in first where you can hook up and you almost have to shift right away like instantly. Or you're going to bounce off that rev limiter before you get a second now this is all just when you have full trashy control and stability off and you have to do the shifting. Once you press that paddle it will not upshift at least in the stinger it won't. I'm assuming the g70 is the same since it's exactly the same drive train
4.4 0-60 with a 12.1 1/4 mile makes no sense. That means ur spinning off the line or just super slow, then pick up insane speed suddenly to make it up.
As someone who owned a stock Stinger GT1 AWD, it does not do 12.1s stock!! Mine did 12.8-12.9s.
@@DMCarReviews So I have the 22. I'm telling you they are completely different than the other models. I'll see you if I can post my draggy times and post the dyno now it wasn't my card. I got dynoed but it was another scorpion that had no mods done to it and I'm not sure if the dyno runs high but it had supposedly 510 torque 430hp. And I have problems with the dry he validating runs where I do them. No cops can hide. I let traffic get what I think it's a good distance away but I end up catching up half the time so I end up having a coast or breaking a little bit. Now I did cap my recirculating hoses to give the blow-off sound. That's the only thing I did other than stock and I think that actually hurts me so I do have a slight hesitation off the line but then it hits hard. And I've done faster than a 4.4 0 to 60 also. I don't understand why draggy invalidates in incline over one degree. The incline hurts you. I understand the decline being invalidated but why does it invalidate inclines My fastest 0 to 60 was a 4.18 and then the 1 ft roll out how the core companies do it. I was a 3.93 now it was somewhere around 10 to 12° f out that particular run and when I start my times I am on the shoulder. So there is gravel mine's all-wheel drive. But I still can easily spend a tires. I'm telling you unless you drove the 22 and like I said mine's a scorpion. I don't think there's any added power but it is just different. The times I get older models need to do several mods and if you all look at other scorpions that have the same mods, they're in the high 10s 1/4 and mid threes consistently. I would have to drive an older stinger to see how they feel different. But if you look up twin turbo UA-cam page, the one guy that races the stinger on there hangs with a tuned rs5 and he has mods on his stinger. He has the tribute edition which is the same thing as mine except they have alcantara inside which I don't like. Anyways, with the scorpion model only the Canadians got the alcantara. I just don't like the look. I know my times people can deny me all they want that those aren't possible. So what would a 4.4 0 to 60 equate to in a quarter mile My other vehicle a 2010 Acura tl all-wheel drive which supposedly only has 60 less horsepower and 100 less foot pounds of torque. My best best time was a 5.2 0 to 60 with a quarter mile. It was 13.9 And I got that on an extremely cold day. Otherwise it would be around high 5s in that vehicle was extremely fast and I didn't lose to anything up until the last couple years. Somewhere around 2019 cuz he started having altimas that had 280 horsepower and weighed 7 to 800 lb less So like I said, unless you drove a 22 GT2 scorpion, I'm assuming the regular GT2s are the same. They claimed there's no performance difference, but the only dyno I have is another scorpion that's in the area

@datsuntoyy incorrect plenty of videos on UA-cam record is actually at 10.7 seconds with a lap3 tune not sure how much hp they had just know there wasn't any serious modifications hell they didn't even do any weight reduction to get that time could probably shave off at least .1-2 seconds if they had.

JB4 is a horrible alternative to a REAL tune, horrible. Drivability is horrible as it interpretes signals and passes them on. A real tune has far superior drivability and smoothness, and more power.

Yup that m340i is not tuned well. Im thinking more like 450 hp. Those numbers are basically what my m240i does stock and my car is far faster with a jb4
My m340 gets 3.5 0-60 and 11.8 1/4 without the trans tune and a JB4 with a locked DME. They aren't driving it properly or something wrong with the car.
All conditions are different. So many things can factor tenths of a second including tires
@@stefanomarcellino6701 When I ran that time the rain was drying up there was a flood few hours ago on a bad surface with 225 tires all season run flats. No worse condition then that unless were talking rain or snow.

I'm not sure if the numbers posted for the G70 are a true reflection of the car with its current mods, but as a owner of a 2020 M340ixdrive, it does seem like it should have posted faster times and I believe it is that neither Sam or the owner were using launch control or at least not using it properly. The m340i launches way harder and would have shaved off time.

@@rinodoog Not the interior or the exterior just the tranny and engine. The M Series guy is now at Genesis so that will also change soon. I have both and sorry but the interior or the G70 is way nicer, not close.

The g70 will last longer. 80-100k on the bmw until check engine lights and whatever else German engineering decides to act up.
Bull, I own a BMW with the b58 and that engine is proven to be much more reliable than any Hyundai motor.
That 0-60 time doesn't make sense for G70 lol. I have a heavier GT2 and run 3.56 0-60 with my tune..Great race tho

Apples and oranges comparison. The M340i is about $10K more expensive than the G70. Also the BMW has an actual tune, while the JB4 is a piggyback and not an actual tune. Not a fair comparison at all. M340i also makes much more power than the 382HP that is advertised. Fun to watch either way.

I'm pretty sure they fabricate their races to have a specific result, they try to hide it in one fashion or another but the keen eyed viewer or owner of the G70 always notices it. This just once again confirms my suspicions.

theirs a 30-70 hp difference on top of not having an actual tune but its a different race with the same hp and same mods

@@abbasabdullahi5363Well price difference if you're talking stock to stock. 340i is near 70k, while the g70 is 55k ish for sports prestige trim. Cant expect a 55k car to beat a 70k car. Stage 1 JB4 is good a mild tune over stock.

@@roboticvenom1935it’d be close. My g42 m240i ran 3.8 and 12.2 bone stock not even fully broken in and it’s only slightly lighter than the m340i. A properly tuned m340i should be a 10 second car or close to it.
My stock 2021 runs 3.9 but on that drag strip, who knows, so you have a valid point.

@@supersportlt1 If you knew anything about the b58 motor in the 340i, you wouldn't say that. The b58 is 382hp "on paper" which in reality, it's making 420-450hp stock while the g70 makes 368hp stock. That's already almost 100hp down stock vs stock. Now if you factor in tune and aftermarket parts into both cars like in this video, the 340i is definitely near 550hp (remember, bmw lied about hp figures) while the g70 is about 425hp, barely touching 450hp. It being down 100+ hp, and more weight, it didn't lose by much.

How are you getting times cuz none of this makes sense here several problems with these numbers. The g70 was 0.61 seconds slower to 60 by the time they got to the quarter mile was only 0.42. as far as I saw, the BMW is pulling away from the g70 now it's not a lot but at no time is the g70 evening that out and stopping the BMW from pulling away. I have a Kia stinger scorpion mine's 100% stock I do on average a 4.4 0-60. I've hit a 3.9 when it was 15° f. My quarter mile time is 12.01 faster than both of The times these cars achieved. I don't understand how a 3.6 0 to 60 only gets you a 12.06 quarter mile. That makes zero sense. That should be the mid 11s at worst a 3.6. 0-60 and is that with one foot of roll out or is that a standing 0 to 60 time that'll matter a little bit but still let's say that's a one foot roll out. You're still talking sub 4 second for the BMW there's zero chance a car that does a sub 4 second zero 60 will be in the 12s in a quarter mile. It just wouldn't happen unless it's geared completely wrong but it's not the case here. And the g70 should have been basically right at 12 if not in the high 11s. You should have them do a race also. That's timed with them not shifting cuz it look like the guy in the g70 was shifting way too early. Like I said I have a stinger And as far as I know, stinger and a g70 both drivetrain wise are exactly the same and then they're tuned on top of it. How did it g70 tuned with all that only do a 12.48 quarter? I don't care if it was a 90° day out there. I would still be in the mid-12 if not a little lower and I'm 100% stuck. Are they going up a slight incline or is it 100% flat? And if they're dragging times can you post those?

So since last year when you did your facelift G70 videos, it's pretty clear you are short shifting the G70 and you continue to do so. Looking at the comment section it's obvious I'm not the only one who is noticing this. Just wondering when you will have the balls to admit you're being paid by BMW or you have some incentive because you aren't fooling anyone, aside from BMW fans.
Scuse me, but bmw owner have driver licence? I'm asking because except formula 1 where steering had VERY small amout of degrees lock to lock, in ANY kind of motorsport is not useful such driving position, more than that.. is even LETHAL position for handling at high speed or for emergency maneuvres.
