The missing turbo, is an opportunity for you guys to increase your security AND to improve your processes, so that items are not left just inside the roll up door. Also do you have a job planning white board in the office, or is every project stored in your short term memory? This is also a reason for having an office person to arrange and track the inbound and outbound items. This will free you up to do more chargeable hours in the machine shop.
With so many valuable and now sometimes hard to get hold of parts sat around near the door I'm amazed you keep it open.... especially when quite often you basically tell us through videos in real time what is ready to be shipped.....

Make the company proactive instead of reactive. I hope you find it, but if not, it's not the end of the world and it's not your fault. Stay cool man!
Hi Lee, a friend of mine use to have a workshop in London. Two weeks previously bought an expensive Mercedes’. While working in the workshop on a customer’s vehicle two thieves entered the office and took the keys for the Mercedes. The estate security was off that day and the thieves calmly drove away without being challenged. Yes all car’s keys are now locked in a key safe to stop a recurrence happening. You will need to beef up security. Another friend had the workshop separate from his front off with a mat sensor to indicate anyone entering the front office when unoccupied.
In my experience you won't find the turbo and will have to buy a new one. And then a day or two after you have fitted the new one the old one will magically reappear. You might have accidentally packed it in another customers job.

Checklists and written notes taped to boxes are some of my solutions to my terrible short term memory. 40 years ago when I was a Mopar parts counter guy I learned to keep all my scratch pad pages where I looked up parts for walk-ins that were price checking. If you put the turbo in a unlabeled, taped up box, a thief wouldn't know what was in it so speculative theft and trying their luck hoping the box would yield some engine parts worth stealing.

Unlikely, did you pick it up to put it in the office for collection or the spare work table behind the office and get distracted, even going to the toilet!!??
This will sound rediculous, but why does Lee have a capital N on his face.?
Id still like a quote for a d4f 722. Tolerance check, new seals, piston rings and gaskets.
Pick an engine up for 500-700 mate chuck a lump init
Shouldn't you be emailing or giving them a call?
I want turbo too ... Please send some of them to Dinmark ... It's England East .. Just on the other side... Esberg first... Just come come . Hope u got good gifts and had a good day of B ..! !
found my phone in the fridge the other day, put it in there with a bar of chocolate of the same size, spent a few hours looking for it
Maybe you need to build a secure cage for attractive parts.
Does his shop look like it has any room for a cage? Hope he finds it but thieves are everywhere, especially with a wide open border in the US. Watch what happens to this country with this invasion, crime and drugs were bad enough as they were...
Say a quick prayer to St Anthony (the saint of misplaced items) I'm sure he'll impel you to find it. "Dear St. Anthony, please come around: something is lost, and it cannot be found." Sorry about the pun.
Contraption = 'Steady rest'. We call them steady rests here in America.
Time for a mesh gate across the main door to keep people out and let light /fresh air in
You should not anybody into the workshop, if the door is open then you should have some sort of chain across it with a no entry sign. All deliveries, collection and customers should report to reception first., oh an sort that office manager out.
You have lost a turbo, I lost 2wd YB cam caps and bolts. Was 100% sure they where on the head when I moved shop. Now I have two heads and zero cam caps.
7:06 for the actual video thumbnail and what we all clicked to see
Hope you find it 🙏🙏
Its right there, on the work bench.... in a box..
Its probably been put in a silly place. Let's hope you find it ..
May have to look at putting in another camera. .
It's the sign of the times now I'm afraid .if its not nailed down
It will go walkie. 👍👍👍👍
Hopefully it'll turn up fingers crossed 🤞as has been stated by others on here, you really need to keep the doors down or a barrier to stop anyone just walking in! At work we had a safe go missing and a 7.5t truck taken whilst staff were in the office and workshop, also from a health and safety perspective customers/general public shouldn't be allowed in the workshop, anyone that is should be chaperoned by a member of staff to ensure safety and security. I know it's a ballache but you'd be surprised how easy it is to get stuff nicked, the truck was taken whilst late shift were having their break and the dude had a man inside eg an agency driver who knew where the keys were stored. Truck disappeared along with the driver and believed to be in Poland somewhere 😬 Hopefully it'll turn up and you're putting stuff down and forgetting things I've been doing that for years now 🤣🤣🤣
Almost all thefts are someone that knows what you have. Sadly, they are often friends or coworkers...
You’ve just put it safe probably.
That’s what happens when you leave parts lying outside and unattended
You have details of customer’s address? Be careful of GDPR !!
Have you checked your tradesman's entrance ? Maybe somebody shoved it there for you ?
Pretty sure that you would notice a turbo that size up the tradesmans🤣
It's basically where you left it .
That's what my mother used to tell me as well. I think she always really meant it. Big help.😖
Where did you check the cctv on the vid. Didn't see anything. despite the thumb - more click bait shite.
More drama, who'd have guessed? How about some good old engine building content for a change?
Not that kind of channel anymore. Hasn’t been for a while, he’s of the opinion this brings in more views….
Get some extra help,i know there is a financial element but what with health issues and efficient running of the business surely worth a go?.
It's behind you...
AT LAST, FIRST! WOOT!!
I hope you catch that thief.
Good luck.
I would have been through the video right away, before the thief gets it sold...
Sounds like a dodgy lasagne.
I wouldn't touch the prawns either.
Stick to bottled water mate
