Does harstem not know about hold-position mutas over workers? Maybe he just forgot. It's like the second most basic thing to know about mutas. (The first thing to know about mutas is: don't go 1-base muta)
16:14 Terran saw the Glaive Wurm bounces and gg'ed XD so beautiful to see that you can win vs Terran with Mutas even though they have ALL the counters imaginable, gg wp.
Mr. Harstem, I propose you to advice your opponent by chat whenever you are moving out for an attack or run by (in the series of beating gm with stupid stuff).
I second this motion. Also I want to suggest that the Captain has to find out personal information about his opponent. E.g name of his/her pet, or something else. Otherwise it won't count as a win.
Oh my god, last time I played SC2 (6 years ago) all I did was muta rush. Built 1 Queen and no expansion and thats it. Opponent didn’t surrender and I would. Hit diamond with that nonsense. This gives me some big throwbacks!
Omg I think that toss player was so confused trying to figure out what shenanigans you were up to. So funny that he for some reason destroyed the Stargate. Must have made it extra painful when he saw the muta.
I honestly thing 1 base muta , with late expansions -> mass expand standard ling/bling/muta is broken in ZvT. Even if you scout it with your reaper and make a turret and start vikings, the vikings cost 150 minerals each + gas, such a heavy mineral sink, combined with cyclones, that if you didnt open 3 cc your just gonna fall behind, and if you did open 3 cc, then you have no marines and muta can dance around and kill add ons etc. Yeah that 2nd part is a dance, but repair cost resources that once your building vikings/cyclones you barely have any to spare, and on top of that those units cant do any counter pressure, basically giving zerg free reign to macro like a boss behind it, so basically if the zerg doesnt derp into a widow mine or multiple turrets they have a massive advantage and can just prepare a late ling/bling flood to deny the third, if the terran even last long enough to land it, the ammount of turrets it cost to slow expand or waiting until you have enough marines, basically gives zerg a free win by it self.
21:50 i wonder if the the protoss in the first game that hardcountered with phoenix also behave like a little kid after it. that's why i love watching this videos of harstem. when he loses he has no words for it and when actually something works he behaves like a 12 year old boy that thinks he was the first human being who invented that kind of play hahaha i love it
Game 1: You need 8 lings to kill a cannon iirc. Maybe you could have denied mining in the main base if you assisted with the mutas and have a playable game from there
would love midgame to see a nydus to move drones fast from one base to another to full; also when harass comes send drones to safety in the nydus maybe also units that are not trading well in that situation ^^
Is mass infestor queen viable? Is it stupid enough? It's just bizarre enough to must watch. Zerg doesn't have a lot of multipurpose units but these kinda are. The queens meat shield while infesters do neural, including neural on medivacs to help heal queens. PS what if you neural a disruptor mid-shot? If they die the shot dies, but if you neural them, science dictates the shot should be interrupted.
lings are fine too I think. I'm not sure if it's viable without lings, and 4/5 viewers agree, it's better to bend a little on the rules than just straight up lose.
Mutalisks lack health, I think your supposed to make 6 or 8 zerglings for every 1-2 muta, after you fast tech to mutas. And I think your supposed to get in zerglings first, and then mutas from behind, to ignore the army and let the zerglings be the patsys while the mutas go for workers. theres a period of time where your slowed down to make the first 6 mutas, after you make the first 6, back in wings of liberty, I thought you where supposed to make 1 defense spine and spam lings til you hit 20 or 30 and after the first 20 or 30 lings you go pure spine for a short bit to 5 and then pure muta on a fast 4 base, for more gas, and use the ling wave to be the supply for the next wave of mutas, the first 6 mutas are for keeping them home, you dont take them to the center of the enemy base, you force them to chase you around, as long as you have 6 mutas around the base, they cant leave, so, in theory, some times, it can allow you to sneak an extra 3 or 4 or even 5 hatcheries, including a macro hatchery, for your wall on the ramp, and defend with roaches lings and the war host majority of your mutas that stayed home. Remember, you dont have to saturate hatcheries for them to be useful. they block the enemy from expanding places, which is good in their expansions, and it adds to your larva, which is good for close range reinforcements, for the cost of little more then 3 zealots you get a 1500 health boss building that can defend its self with queens and adds to the ''meat'' wall with drones into spines and evo chambers or spores and baneling nests. I think your not walling and not turtling enough when the tide turns against your favor, those pheonix are useless when spines and spores are rooted and not walking around, and remember the cheapest building you can make for your wall of meat is the evolution chamber, since its size impedes the ability of even ranged units to properly shoot over it, while still getting hit by spines, and zealots get extremely tripped out by evolution chamber spine walls. There can even be an advantage to doing it right in the center of your base, making a fast panic 5 spines and 3 or 4 evolution chambers to block for them, can make for some interesting tricks. This is similar to the way Undead in warcraft3 use the grave yard on the tree line to block contact with the first ziggurat, to allow its ranged dps to exist longer. With spine crawlers hidden between your gysers or behind your mineral line, and spores tight to the main on the flanks of tech buildings, you can squish them in between evolution chambers quickly. you keep sending in nearly dead mutas at ultra low health, I think your supposed to just right click them home so when you come back later their fully healed, that is how you get out of the phoenix problem, by running home to your infestors queens and spores. I dont think your using burrow enough, burrow is really good, I know you think its bad, but its the counter to oracles, since they have to waste energy on the revelation to even be able to attack the burrowed drones, and it can allow you to unburrow queens immediately after burrowing the drones, so the queens can tank the oracle damage for the drones. Since drones have a lower threat priority then queens do, even when revealed from their burrows by revelation, without right clicking your drones the oracle will focus the queen naturally as it is, once the oracles gone, or once its not longer got any energy left, you can unburrow the drones and resume mining without loosing so many. I know its easier said then done. over all very fun games to watch well done. After watching that guy kill his own stargate to get out, I think ima build some test data so that the protoss stargate can lift off once in a while like a terran barracks can, to see if maybe the stargate can act as a kind of door in the ramp? it looks so floaty as it is any way, surely a flying stargate would/could look cool?
Seems like the first guy won just due to the fact that Harstem was playing a specific build to go muta. If he just decided to actually go roaches because of the cannon rush I think it was over no? He had a roach warren before the first cannon basically. And drop overlord with roaches/lings.
Opponent had more bases, harstem basically had to win right then or at least deal significant damage. Switching to corrupters would have been very slow on just one base eco and he probably would have fallen too far behind.
I know Harstem seemed *SEMI-* successful with this strat, but I honestly think that he was *VERY FAR from executing it perfectly...* For starters, and at the VERY least: He should get that 2nd (SECOND) extractor up *MUCH sooner...* .
Harstem should host this type of tournaments on Aliens vs Predator 2010 to give good analysis. Both Starcraft II and AvP 2010 are similar to each other quite a lot.
Watching the APM drop with your commentary regarding the play by play screen punch got me so hard as a zerg player

If you're gonna ignore rule number 1, you might as well ignore the rest.

he also seems to think 2 vikings arent dead to 6-7 mutas. i dont get it lol

the insta quit against toss is painfull
@23:05 I like that you can see his next opponent just came online

Very good video today!! I'm still halfway through but loved the games and humour today! XD
What in the world was that decision making in game 1???!?!?🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭
I honestly think that first game was the worst game I’ve seen Harstem play
Can you make a episode of using hallucinate probes to confuse the opponent
22:33 haha he had his eyes closed so he couldn't see the APM drop

Mutas feel bad. I wish they got a buff, or maybe a complete rework. I kinda don't even know why they attack air - Anything in the air just melts them.
Fastest possible vipers vs all races. Do something with Parasitic Bomb (???)
Thanks for the video cap!
Get that poop out of the pants! 😂
28:00 why not to kill battery then pylon at natural and thus delay phoenix prodution, while snowballing muta yourself?
I swear I saw you do this to Jumy today hahaha
Try same build but hide spire on ovi creep and maybe roach warren at home if he scouts
Game 1 could have switched to corruptors? Kills phoenix and can take out the nexuses, or am I missing something.
I think it'd be hard off 1 base eco
As already mentioned you'd need much better eco for that. He needed damage fast.
Opponent had more bases, harstem basically had to win right then or at least deal significant damage. Switching to corrupters would have been very slow on just one base eco and he probably would have fallen too far behind.
Phoenix with canon battery do surprisingly ok Vs corrupters plus he will just make a few voids on better eco and be fine
@@dylansevittyes this is very true actually
might consider a new title "beaten because of stupid stuff". :) Fun to watch though.. most entertaning starcraft channel / player.
I thought 1 base muta was questionable versus a cannon rush due to the stargate flowup that always cones.
I prefer robo for inmortals, stalkers can take care of the air
Game 1 protoss is a massive gambler. If you'd just macrod after killing the cannons he would have had no chance.
Great commentary and fun game strategy, i love this! Even thought im a terran for life

1 base ultra next

Couldn’t that be hard countered with standard 2 adept harass? I don’t think 6 lings without speed could deal with it
