The butterfree is not damaged if the cocoon is damaged. However if you were to puncture the cocoon before the metamorphosis is complete, you would kill the butterfree. Fun fact, the caterpie incases itself within the cocoon, then it's digestive enzymes break down it's entire tissue. The resulting goop rebuilds itself as a butterfree.
Indeed! Every insect that pupates is basically a happy innocent grub that was born with an evil parasitic twin. Once it reaches a certain size, the evil nodule of cells sends out hormones that make it build a house, then release digestive enzymes that kill the caterpillar. The evil twin then eats up all the nutrients and becomes the adult form.

Hey Harstem, I noticed you clicked the unbuildable plates at 28:01. I remember they added these back in HOTS to stop some unbeatable strategy of someone walling you in (I think it was protoss). Can you do a video on the history of these plates and the unbeatable strategy it prevents?
Fun Fact - Parting actually took advantage of a map where the map had an incorrect ramp with no plates in a GSL season a few years ago and destroyed Solar with a single pylon wall blocking his natural from his main. 2021 GSL Season 2 round of 16. This game perfectly shows why the plates exist
Molecular biology expert here (entomologists trump me). Butterflies produce no cocoons, but have a protective layer called a chrysalis. You could potentially open it up without damaging the insect, but it depends on how far along development is. The early stages rely on a careful control of cellular migration for metamorphosis, but once this migration has completed, the fluid inside is largely waste.
The cacooon can take some damage but the butterfly can survive. What's interesting is in some cases if ants attack the caterpillar or cocoon, the butterfly will remember and attack the ant colony.

Challenge concept (probably needs further thought): how high on the ladder can you get with less than a set APM? I'm sure there are programs that will only let you do x actions a minute (say 150), and I'd be curious how well you could economize your actions if needed.
So... I'm not a pro... but why does Harstem keep calling his 2nd base his "natural" when it's not in the natural position? I thought the natural expansion referred to the intended expansion closest to your base, e.g., at the bottom of your ramp, etc. In a standard game your natural would normally end up being your 2nd base, but if you are forced to build at your 3rd location or choose to build at a gold, those wouldn't be your natural.... right?
Kevin, you do a show Beating Grand Master with stupid stuff on an account called the Cowboy. You might want to think about that when people scout you early seeing whether you are doing something stupid and unpredictable when they play against the Cowboy...
I think roach muta can deal with marines better than banelings. Actually it is a hard counter to marine medievac. Or you can use speed droppalord with banes instead of burrow. Make 2~3 with 2 banes on each. You need carapace upgrade.

How about a series of playing against people in matches with mods? For example different mods in coop and non coop. As for bgmwss how about playing with protoss (or perhaps other races) and trying to lose as little amount of units as possible. So repairing and regenerating as mush as possible.
I enjoy watching Harstem play with and against Reynor and other high level players. I enjoy watching BGMWSS. What if you developed a BGMWSS video with the intent of playing the strategy off camera, or at least off youtube, until you felt excited to take it with you against a higher level player.
