My mom passed away morning after Christmas last year. (Long read but a good one) I remember when being a little kid in 99 when slipknot come onto the scene, she was a minor fan and I was the die hard maggot. She always said she wanted to see them one time if they ever came close to our shit hole town in South Dakota. For her memory I was able to get myself tickets 2 for her 2 closest friends and 2 for my adopted brothers, childhood best friends. Getting to the concert was nothing but problems and we missed everyone else. Slipknot had barely started by the time we got onto the floor and it was worth everything I had hoped for. Maybe not moshpit wise but the energy of the atmosphere of everyone in the moment feeling alive. Hearing them play Snuff along with my mom's other favorites that night not only had me feeling childhood nostalgia of seeing my heroes but I was able to finally mourn and cry for the loss of my mom... For me all day I kept saying: "It's Slipknot or death, Surrender was never an option" Thank you Slipknot for everything
