Loveeeed this vlog!! You looked lovely at your baby shower… baby girl is so loved already isn’t she so many beautiful gifts.. that white mini elephant rattle is the cutest! Xx
The swaddle suits are so good especially for nighttime changes my son loved these...I got about 4 just so u have a couple when the others are getting washed. So excited for you xxx
Those love to dream swaddles were my life saver. My baby Lottie slept through the night from 8 weeks and it happened a few nights after I converted to those swaddles! 😍😍😍 wish I had one from birth!
I was working a baby shower at my catering job. The father of the yet-to-be mother roasted my boss. His daughter was expecting a girl, and the room was decorated with flowers and "princessy" decorations, while the women were in elegant dresses. The dad came in, said, "My, my, am I in a palace? Look at all these sweet, lovely princesses." He looked at my boss with disgust in his face. "You must be security." I had to leave and laugh my guts out in the bathroom. BURN!!!
A lot of women don't know that putting a hat on bub after birth is not evidence-based and It can actually inhibit mum from smelling bubs scent. Newborn baby smell is extremely important in terms of biology as it creates a pleasurable response in a new mother’s brain. It’s mother nature’s simple, and oh-so-clever tool to help mothers bond with their newborn babies. The third stage of labour (birthing the placenta) is also triggered by a big sniff. After the birth, one of the cues that tells your body that it’s time to expel the placenta is a noseful of your baby’s scent. WOW, how incredible is that! Once that happens, you will experience a rush of oxytocin, which will cause your uterus to contract and helps to safely expel the placenta. Mother nature has perfectly effective mechanisms in place to make sure birth works well. It’s a common misconception that newborn babies need to wear hats to stay warm (right after birth). In fact, there is no need to rely on hats to keep your baby warm, because you will be keeping your baby warm. Your body temperature helps to regulate your baby’s body temperature, which is why skin-to-skin contact is so important in the hours following birth. During skin-to-skin contact, if your baby feels too hot, your body will cool down, and if your baby feels too cold, your body will heat up. I know what you’re thinking, don’t we lose most of our heat from our heads? Nope! This myth was debunked in a study that was published in the British Medical Journal in 2008 and by another study in 2006. Besides, research has shown that skin-to-skin contact is effective in regulating a baby’s body temperature and has many more benefits. Current recommendations are to remove hats when indoors so bub doesn’t overheat - yet hospitals still continue to put them on indoors🤦🏽♀
