Remove from one side to place and smooth on the shaft, and then remove the other piece of backing before you install the new grip! Want to make sure you have adhesive making contact with the grip as well!
I believe they have a tool for it, it's like a long flat looking thing. Basically you slide it under as far as you can, drench it in solvent, twist and push under the grip until it's hard to do again, drench it in solvent, and repeat until you get close enough to the end to slide the whole thing off the shaft
It's not easy to get a putter grip off without damage. If you take it to a local shop that has the right tools they will usually do it for the cost of re-gripping. At that point you may as well have them put it on the new putter for you as well!
If you want to be extra picky you can use one of those little 4 inch levels ...plumb the face then check the grip after it is put on to check it reads level in the 2 ends and middle of the grip
I regripped all my irons and didn’t peel the second side of tape off because I thought the solvent activated the stick. Just realized that just now lol
I get it’s easy but it’s cheap to get someone to do it also. You can pay someone to regrip your clubs for a few dollars. You just have to provide the new grip. But saves you the trouble of buying the kit and tools if you don’t already have them.
I install grips all the time, but tried putting a Super Stroke XL onto an Odyssey putter to which I added an extension. The extension was the same as the shaft .580. But I'm having a hard time getting the grip to slide all the way onto the shaft. It's really resistant and I can get about half way before I just can't push it any farther. Any thoughts/suggestions?
Same. I get about 1/2 way and Im stuck or the shaft falls out of vice! My next attempt I’m going to use superstroke tool to remove weight adjustment from end of grip. I may also try a compressor / air to assist.
I used grease and WD40. And I did not put any tape. Trust me the thing is STUCK and there's no way to remove it (I tryed the hardest I could) But my shaft is a stroke Lab shaft from Odyssey, it's not a steel shaft.
@@coythuston7442maybe. I would prefer to take it somewhere else only cause I wouldn’t want to buy all that stuff and just have it sit there. I wouldn’t regrip often
Juat regripped my putter. This video made it easy. Thank you.
Well explained. Easy to take explanation. Thank you.
Good video. I always re grip my own clubs. Not because I'm cheap. Because I give a shit how my grips are applied.
Nice clear instructions ...and no annoying background music!
Way to simple to pay someone, great vid
Great Information, just what I needed to know. Thank You.
Great video. My vise grips didn’t work all that well but with pure strength I got that sucker on. Lost a piece of my soul doing it but it’s ok
Hi sir, I have a counter flex Nike putter, any recommendations for a new grip
Hi, you only removed the tape backing on one side? Is that right?

What to do with the 17“ grip? Slide it not toner end so there is a bit of „air“ without shaft in the grip? Or do I need to change the shaft ?
Is there a recommended or "easy" way to remove a SuperStroke 2.0 putter grip from my old putter so I can install onto my new putter? Thanks!

I just did the same damn thing last night lol
It's so hard to push them on with the paper lol
I've never seen it mentioned in instructions that come with regrip kits. Just ruined a 30$ grip because I forgot

The best replacement for Grip Solvent is Mineral Spirits from your local hardware store.
shame the kits are no longer made
This dude said it’s going to be pretty easy but a high majority of people don’t have those tools 😂😂😂
Honestly it would probably be cheaper to take it somewhere than buy the regrip kit

@@coythuston7442 The regrip kit is $12.99 on their site
Bro I won’t have any of that at home
Use Goof Off with a rag to take the remainder of the tape off.
