I had the round reverse taper grip put on this morning. After checking several reviews on youtube from knowledgable reviewers. The round felt more comfortable to me and putting feels very smooth and easy. No tension on the hands. Golf Pride is onto something here. Great review! Joe

Unbelievably after being paid today I already have my putter in my car and as soon as I finish work I'm heading to get my putter regripped, what a coincidence and what a good video to see , definitely will be having a look at those grips , thanks Dan

I purchased a few of the medium Pistol and Flat versions (no Round). I put one of the Flat grips on my Scotty Phantom X 12.5, and I like it a lot better that the thinner Pistolero Scotty grip that came standard with the putter. I think I would use the reverse taper Pistol grip with more of a blade-style putter.

Great review Dan. I have had a Super stroke grip in various sizes for years, I liked them. Then I decided that I would change to a Scotty Cameron midsize grip, quite expensive of course, far more than any super stroke I have ever purchased. It works which is a good thing, I feel the head more so i hole more putts. Golf pride MCC +4 for the irons, but for my putter? Nah

Not a new idea as I have a Benross putter which has a Benross kind of super stroke style grip which is thicker at the bottom than the top. They do look good and might give one a try

I have had the round reverse taper on the putter for 3 rounds now. The stability and ability to aim the ball where I want it to go is off the charts awesome. It makes a huge difference. I would never have guessed the results would be this pronounced. I am nailing putt after putt. I used to do well with the superstrokes and for some reason moved away from them when I changed putters. I think these reverse taper grips by Golf Pride are even better. I have never felt this kind of control in my putting.

Need to see Bernie trying this grip and whether it positively impacts his putting (over an armlock). That's the ultimate test.

Interesting but with 3 options, which is good in one way, very expensive given you could waste 3-4 grips trying the right one for you and these grips are £29.99 a pop plus the Scotty Cameron grip is more assuming you revert back to the original grip.

Hi Dan, I see you went with medium grip for small hands, so should I go for a large grip for medium hands?? I have a normal pistol grip on my Scotty so looking to change. Hope all is well and gutted I can't join you on the bus tours this year.

  • @davidballard9781

Great review Dan it’s certainly something to think about,I to wear a small glove size and I have a small grip on my scotty but I’ve also tried larger grips on other putters.
And I’m also a very wrist type of putter,I’ve also tried left below right (I’m right handed),and to be honest I’ve not really found what I’m more comfortable with.
Obviously it gets a bit expensive trying out different grips,it would be really great if there was somewhere you could test them out with out having to buy them first only to find out that they don’t suit you lol

I got to hit a couple of these grips at PGATSS, I don't like oversize grips but of the two I tried, the flat and the pistol, I like the pistol the most even though I am not a left hand low putter, it just had a good feel to it. SuperStroke putter grips just feel way to mushy to me, I didn't get that from this GP grip.

Hi Dan... I went to an EvnRoll Gravity Grip on my putters. They have some interesting tech in them... It made a 1/4 toe hang, anser style putter, into an almost face balanced putter.
I installed reverse taper grips on a set of clubs for a client years ago when they first came out. They felt horrible to me. I wouldn't like it on a putter, I am sure about that... But, I am also sure some folks will like it.... and It's worth giving it a go for someone experimenting with their putting grip.

“untapped” 🤔 a lot of putter grips available Dan. I like this concept from GP, but hate the wording all over the grip. This would genuinely deter me from buying.

I’ve actually got one on order, I’ve gone for the Flat midsize, to go on my Mizuno OMOI, I’ve been moving to a claw grip for anything under about 10’
Apart from a total putting disaster last time out the claw is helping.

Can these be changed with compressed air? I'd like to give one a go and resell it if I don't like it. A normal grip is a waste to have to cut off, but £30 is not a risk I'm willing to take.

    • @DanHendriksenGolf

    • @markparker5585
      @markparker5585 Місяць тому

@@DanHendriksenGolf grip arrived today, and unfortunately I couldn't get one on with compressed air (I've done dozens of grips this way previously). It might be because to keep it lightweight, it's more plastic-based than rubber based, so there's little to no stretch. It may go on over a completely bare shaft, but even with one layer of tape, it wasn't playing the game. I almost didn't put it on, but eventually gave in, and It's now on with tape and solvent. Very much crossing fingers I get on with it.

Not a new concept. Feel golf brought out a range of grips although I don't remember ones for putters. They encourage you to not hold on too tightly. The bottom hand would close the face naturally due to the thicker section lower down on the grip.

Many years ago I had my Titlest Dead Center Putter regripped with a larger, tapered putter grip. I liked the feel and I was putting better. Recently changed putters, to an Odyssey, mallet style and have the super stroke oversized grip. Getting along great with the Odyssey, and I think the larger grips have helped me improve my putting.

I use a Del Mar and swapped out the stock grip to a Scotty Cameron Pistol as I liked the feel. It threw the weight out on the putter so needs to change the head weights. Do like a small super stroke but reticent to mess about with things and leave well enough alone.

I like the idea of these and thought as soon as I saw them they may be for me.
I like the 2 thumb grip concept and hadn’t noticed it till Bernie put one on sideways.
I’ve always tried to have my hands working as one so almost have a triple overlap grip with a pretty standard thin pistol type grip. Winn has a great feel.
I really thought the pistol one would be for me but if it’s better left hand above right maybe not.

I've had one of these on the putter for a couple of weeks now and it's working well, especially for pace control. It's certainly not a magic bullet but I'd say it's definitely giving me some extra confidence with my putting and that alone is worth giving it a go.

I saw these putter grips in a pro shop last week and was trying to work out the 3 types, so thanks for the review. I am someone who is always trying to keep my bottom hand quiet to avoid pulling putts, so I do try to control my putter with my top hand, maybe I need a bit more bottom hand.

I do the left hand low grip, have for over 20 years, it helps me keep my right hand out of the putt as much as possible, just keep the back of the left hand going toward the target and the right hand is just along for the ride usually.

The only thing that hasn't changed in my club set up is my putter. From the instant I found my ping '69 answer in a second hand bin at hellidon lakes some 40 years ago.
I was always taught that your wrists should be locked and the pace comes from rotation of the shoulders around your spine. Apart from a slight press as I begin my putting stroke everything is locked. No twists, no flicks. Putting is my card saver.
    Lovely video again Dan ❤
