It added a "wtf" moment at the same time as displaying how much of a prodigy Haku actually was in comparison to everyone else in that fight.
Ive always assumed (specially in the manga) that most of the hand seals are done hidden or off screen/panel. For example, in the manga a lot of the time when they cast a jutsu you can see them using the last hand seal of the jutsu meaning they had already prepared the jutsu before the panel showed them casting it. That way Kishi wouldn't have to draw all the signs every time. Then there's also the fact that as a ninja you don't want your enemy to see the hand seals. Obviously that's my assumption. I dunno if Kishi meant it to be interpreted like that.
yeah it's always been my belief that ninja being able to drop hand seals as they get more skilled at performing their jutsu is anime-only canon, because fully animating the full seal sequence for every single jutsu ever used would be ridiculous and unreasonable on the artists. An anime can't really take the shortcut of implying the seals are always being done "off-panel" like a manga can. I assume this precisely because we saw the full sequence for the water dragon jutsu... because why the heck would two elite shinobi like Zabuzu and Kakashi both need to weave the full 44 seal sequence in a fight to the death? They should both be more than skilled enough to drop most of the seals if that was possible. Also, wouldn't the Sharingan's ability to copy hand seals be next to useless if any decently strong opponent can perform their favorite jutsu without needing to actually weave most of the seals?
Also theres even a quote from sasuke where he tells deidara “you ought to weave your hand seals out of sight, once i saw you used earth signs i knew i could counter your jutsu with lightning” so it makes plenty of sense for ninja to weave their signs out of sight because anyone with any sort of ninjutsu knowledge would be like “oh he used the signs for this element, let me just use the element thats strong against it to win”
@@5001Fergies except that would make no sense. Since Deidara has already fought itachi, then him not understanding the Sharingan’s capabilities makes him extremely foolish. I think to best get that across, they could have a motion-blur effect around the hands and then only drawing the last seal like you said. To show that there's more happening, it's just really fast (like when Kakashi sped up his seals into a blur during the second bell test)
@@takun87 Your comment about Deidara vs Itachi overlook the fact that intel is king in naruto. Fighting Itachi =/= knowing all of the Sharingan's capabilities (or all Itachi's abilities for that matter). Has nothing to do with Deidara being stupid, and instead everything to do with Itachi being smart enough to keep information secret. To the second point, hand seals start to disappear because Part 1 already laid out the foundation for reduced hand seals with Tobirama. He was able to perform Water Dragon with only 1-3 hand seals. It was then further cemented with Itachi's hand seal speed. Anybody who wasn't expecting them to be reduced once the main characters got stronger wasn't paying attention.
Its somewhat unfortunate that they had to be reduced/removed since it really made room for Taijutsu to be more effective. A master Taijutsu user would be able to constantly interrupt an opponent and essentially lock them out of a great deal of their abilities and drag them into a contest of strength.
I think we realized hand seals were gone or going out of style by the first Itachi vs. Kakashi fight. We accepted Kakashi as god level shinobi and then realized, Itachi is Super God-mode, Kakashi stated his seals were too fast to see, and then it was bye-bye seals from that point.
the initial 3-4 in the clip used in the video were to mould water chakra. Tobirama only used 1 seal for the jutsu itself. This works the same for any elemental release. You first mould the elemental chakra using its corresponding signs. You do the signs for the jutsu after that.
@@thermophile1695 the only time Naruto uses an elemental release is when he uses rasengan. How are they going to show him doing hand signs after he already has a rasengan in his hand?
@@susear5939 He has another shadow clone applying the wind release to the Rasengan, and that shadow clone, despite having both hands free, never uses hand seals. I don't recall it ever being stated that hand seals are required to perform the nature transformation in itself.
I think it's less that he got tired of it, and more that it would be repetitive on something fairly routine and non exciting when he would rather use the panel space on the fight itself.
My new head cannon is that there’s a multi hand sign variant of the shadow clone, but Naruto being Naruto only bothered to learn the one hand sign version.
That... that sounds like Naruto. What? This one has too many signs! That's too complicated. I'll do this one, there's just one! Not bothering to read enough to realize that's the advanced version of the jutsu.
@@matthewblackwood9653 considering he learned the jutsu on the fly when he was being chased in episode one while iruka was hiding his whereabouts, I can honestly see him forgetting that there was anything other than his version of the shadow clone jutsu in that scroll.
I just wish they brought it up. I think the Academy could of been the best place to explain hand seals and everything. If we get a Minato past generations, I really do hope the Academy-arc goes into hand seals and perhaps even leaks was going to go on in Borotu Shippuden
I am under the impression we don't generally see as many is because most ninjas should hide their seals so the enemy won't know what's coming. I feel like someone said that to someone (probably Jiraiya to Naruto). An example is when Itachi almost blew up Kakashi. Kakashi mentioned he could barely tell Itachi used seals and we, as audience, didn't see any hand seals. They probably use a lot more than we see, only showing the last few seals for us and their opponent. Edit: My favorite hand seal is Tora(Tiger).
If you look closely at that scene you’ll see Itachi make some one handed handsigns while his arms are to his side. And the rest of the signs he makes in the traditional way, making it harder to deduce which jutsu he’ll use
This. I'm pretty sure highly skilled ninja can't actually drop hand seals when performing jutsu, they just get faster at weaving them and better at hiding them from view so it's more difficult for an opponent to decipher them.
@@AlteredNova04I feel if you use a jutsu enough you should be able to perform it without the hand signs. Exp. Naruto's shadow clone. He uses the jutsu so much it should be ingrained in his chakra though I wouldn't be surprised if it's just muscle memory that he uses the hand sign.
@@AlteredNova04 that cannot be the case, since we have seen instances where it was impossible to hide their hands and they didnt use any hand signs at all. the best examle of this is sasuke in the final valley. he had sleeveless shirt, was completely exhausted and still did a chidori without any implication of doing hand signs
Well they did say during the indra creating seals filler that it simply allowed one to channel or form their chakra more easily and weren’t actually necessary to execute certain jutsu but simply allowed the user to execute that jutsu more easily
This is just a hypothesis. The thing with Kakashi remembering all of the thousands of jutsus is that I believe the sharingan also allows its user to store anything it sees. It's like the memory is etched on to one's mind, like permanently. And this way, they can just remember the sequence of the hand seals, stored on the back of their mind or somewhere, and perform the art. So putting it simply, there is almost no chance of missing something or forgetting something by a sharingan user. Again, this is just my hypothesis
Agreed. It also helps because it kind of induces a near sensory overload of information which is also probably a lot easier to remember. When Sasuke unlocked his Third Tomoe, it was almost like Naruto was in slow motion. Using something like that for us in real life would be agonizing. So much information in so little time it would make seconds feel like minutes. This would also greatly help the imprinting of knowledge that it sees into ones memories.
Other sharingan users probably don't have every chakra nature. It sure is hard to copy a water dragon if you don't have water-nature chakra; maybe you can teach someone else how to do it though.
@@Sparks2520 its not fully gone, its like shippuden in terms of handsign use but theres also the introduction of scientific ninja tools that allow people to use ninjutsu without molding chakra or something along those lines so handsigns are becoming obsolete and the age of the shinobi is coming to an end. @@kingjester123 thanks for the info but after reading your comment it just pushes me further from ever watching it I was actually going to give it another try but now definitely not lol thanks again
The way I see it if its your first time creating a jutsu (lets say fireball) you need to preform all of the 7 hand signs in order (Horse > Serpent > Ram > Monkey > Boar > Horse > Tiger). Each hand sign basically weaves your chakra into different shapes, and those shapes create an element or whatever it is you're trying to conjure. Now some shapes are harder to weave than others (aka - It's harder to form your chakra into those patterns/shapes/etc) for example lets say "Tiger" is a very hard shape to form your chakra into, but is an easy hand-sign to do, and "Horse" is very easy. After you do it a few times you get a "feel" for how to shape the chakra into the "Horse" shape, and you no longer have to weave the sign because you just mentally do it. Basically the signs are just a guide on how to shape the chakra. This would be why you see some shinobi doing all of the hand signs, and then later only doing a few of the hand signs, and then none of the hand signs (or just 1 sign). So basically if "Horse" is easy, then the hand signs become (Serpent > Ram > Monkey > Boar > Tiger), and then if you get really good you might only have to do (Serpent > Tiger), or even just (Tiger) because you can do all the other shapes by feel.
A better solution to getting rid of hand seals would’ve just been to make the ninjas weave them so fast, it’s just motion blur. DBZ did that with battles, but just drawing fireworks in the sky.
It’s like in Harry Potter how after a while they explain that if you’re masterful enough, you don’t even have to say the spell out loud. It’s a cool way to say “this would be slow and boring if you had to say and move a bunch for one thing to happen.” Also makes for a better transition from a book to a screen
12:43 I think it is possible that Kisame is using a technique originally created by Tobirama as well as he was one of the best water users. Shadow clone technique was also the creation of Tobirama. So it is possible that this is a handseal that was created by Tobirama for the simpler use of jutsus he created
Naruto hardly does either, but that's largely due to the fact that he uses so few jutsus. Shadow Clones require 1 seal, ransengan and all its variations don't use any. The only jutsu he uses pre-Boruto that requires multiple seals is summoning.
Another way to look at it is that molding chakra is like mixing paint. If you think about it, hand seals really have NOTHING to do with the jutsu you're casting; it's the state of your Chakra that creates the effect you want. The hand seals are just a way to connect the effect you want in your mind with the physical energy of your body to create and mold your Chakra into the right state. If you imagine each hand seal as its own color, then weaving hand seals is just like mixing paint, continuing to add base colors until you create EXACTLY the color you're looking for, which would be the jutsu you want. To continue the simile, ninja who need less hand seals to pull of their jutsu are like artists who mix up big batches of a commonly-used color in their paintings; they're starting with a color closer to what they want, so they need less mixing to get to the end result. And eventually, they may just mix up whole batches of that specific color because they use it so much. In the same way, molding your Chakra into a specific state makes it easier and easier to get it back to that state, to the point you may not need to mold your Chakra at all; it's already permanently molded that way. Sasuke would be a good example of that; he was very skilled at both Fire and Lightning transformation, but he obviously favored the Chidori. So it's fair to assume that, since we barely ever see him use any hands to perform any Chidori variations, his Chakra was permanently molded into a Lightning Nature that simply needed to be directed into something. Send it to the hand: Chidori. Send it in a line out of the hand: Chidori Sharp Spear. Send it everywhere: Chidori Cloak. That would also explain why he didn't need hand seals for Kirin; since his inate chakra was Lightning Nature, controlling ambient lightning that he'd created with his Fire Style jutsu was effortless. However, because of that Sasuke still needed at least one hand sign to perform Fire Style jutsu, to change his chakra from Lightning to Fire.
Personally it feels like the verse has hit such a skill level that they probably weave them at such a speed we just don’t see it. Like Kakashi even throwing in fake hand signs to fake people out he still was weaving them so fast his hands were animated as blurs
The amount of effort and enthusiasm you put into your passion is addicting and rubs off. Thanks for another video, we appreciate it. Watching this in between my university classes, awesome down time.
Best analogy I can think of for the hand seals is like learning math. If you’re solving an equation for the first time you need to write out every step and show your intermediary steps work. But if you’re really experienced at math you can skip those intermediate steps in your head or simply solve the equation in your head from the jump.
Hands are generally the hardest thing for most artists to draw so basing the whole power system in detailed and intricate hand poses was either massive flex from Kishimoto or terrible planning.
Way back in the early days of Naruto I had heard of a hand seal called the "peacock" seal, but after looking it up it is Orochimaru's five elements seal - which I could have sworn was used in more jutsu than just that one. I also just figured that the "clone seal" was just a modified ram seal, given Naruto's basic seal looking like it's always the ram seal, and that with the first bunshin jutsu - the one that he failed his exam with -Naruto landed on ram instead of using any sort of clone seal. Also technically Naruto is the first character that we see using only one hand seal for jutsu as we see with Kage Bunshin, and most of his Henge usage - especially for the Oiroke no jutsu. Another thing that I took away from all the different hand seal information was an assumption that if a masterful ninja that was capable of shortening a 44 seal jutsu down to just 1 seal, but decided to go ahead with the correct incantation that the jutsu would be more "perfect" - that is to say stronger, and more durable - than if they cut corners.
There's a filler arc which revolves around a village that uses jutsus relying specifically on the peacock sign. (The jutsu name itself at least is 朝孔雀の術, jutsu of the peacock, iirc) Not sure how it differs from the bird sign though, but it's done by doing the heavy metal horns on both hands, thumbs spread out, and then interlacing your middle and ring fingers, other fingers spread out and touching their counterparts. I can still also sing the lullaby from said arc, more than a decade later. =D
You could also add the possibility that a Ninja modifies a seal or even combines 2 or more into one compressing the sequence. Or maybe an alteration just fits that ninjas chakra better than the 'official' seal. These are all alterations that would require a lot of practice and research for the individual ( Orochimaru ) to perfect the ssseals for themssselves. Just added thoughts. Thnks for the rabbit hole I now must climb out of.
Favorite hand seal sequence (which I learned) was for summoning. Favorite Xter moment doing hand seals was the Mizukage vs Sasuke. She pulled it off so smoothly it flowed.
I think the way hand signs work are similar to inputting variables in a formula where the formula describes how the chakra will act like its shape speed nature strength etc and its possible to learn how to input specific commands yourself which lets you skip some signs or if you practice enough skip all signs like chidori and rasengan which is why naruto needs a clone to help mold his chakra into a rasengan and another to add chakra because he can't input all variables himself and it would make sense why in the academy naruto made clones that were duds even if he did the right hand symbols because he was failing at inputting the final variables in. It also explains why only Kakashi with a sharingan can copy jutsus because he can see the chakra and the "inputs" the ninja are putting in after the hand signs otherwise anyone for example the raikage with his insane reaction speed would be able to see and copy jutsus just by doing the hand signs as for the one handed users or feet users it makes sense they unload some of the variables by doing partial signs and it would make sense why for extremely complex jutsus they have almost a ritualistic site with symbols or machines like during the war when they had people hooked up to machines as communicators like inos dad and using hand signs might also ensure less chakra goes to waste and is more focused then most things add up and make sense which is why terms like saying someone is good at chakra manipulation it would be nearly impossible to tell unless if that meant something tangible like is able to skip or use less signs than most people because if that's not how it works the term chakra manipulation is kind of meaningless and intangible
Yeah like when Kakuzu fought Asuma team + Kakashi, he did them so fast that only Kakashi was able to see them and that's only because he had a Sharingan.
Yes and we see evidence of that early when itachi showed up to the village. He did the hand sign so quick he was able to disguise it as pulling out shuriken
4:16 YES. We see him multiple times, do 1 hand seal, and even once lift a single finger to do.... we don't know but it was definitely going to be something
This is one of the main reasons I always liked Hashirama way of fighting he calls on a jutsu in his mind or sometimes out loud then just hold his hand like a prayer. He only uses an actual sign (3-4) if its something like a trump card technique like when he suppressed Kurama from Madara, other than that his hands is together or close together.
I'm no naruto lore expert, but I feel like one possible in-universe justification for hand seals, the changing combination and their eventual disappearance is that hand seals are meant to be ways to visualise how you shape your chakra. Thats why more skilled users can use less seals: because they have better visualisation of the chakra form so they just need a few guides. Thats why theres a standardised list: because they learn ninjutsu from the ninja academy, so they're told what the signs represent and what theyre associated with. But as time progresses and people get a better chakra sense, they stopped needing the guides at all. Its also why hand seals arent needed in Boruto, because the pedagogy has improved and students are probably taught to understand the feel of chakra instead of relying on the seals. It also explains why there are random, new seals, and variances in the hand seals used for the same jutsu: because its based on the personal understanding of the jutsu. If a dragon helps you visualise better than a boar, then you use it as a guide. If no existing hand sign gives you a better visualisation, you create one. I have a very specific theory about the nature of the clapping hand sign: the clapping signifies coming together. Whether its 2 sources of chakra, 2 different types (normal and nature, for example). Which is why its used when youre summonning a massive amount of chakra: because the pool exceeds your own so you draw in from an external source. Same for confrontation: confrontation is not just the confrontation, but the initiation of the confrontation. Thats why deidara uses it to initiate his explosions. But maybe this is just me trying to come up with a coherent justification for a magic system of a series i didnt even enjoy all that much.
Before watching i would say they kind of disappeared because the more proficient you get with something the easier it becomes. So if seals are a physical way to manually channel different things with jutsu then naturally the better you get the less you need them. Like Naruto eventually got so good with the resengan that he didn't need clones to make one. Similar situation and a similar result.
Basically the hand seals allow you to identify it say for example you wanted to use lighting release to properly coat yourself in chakra if you wanted to mold it.
In some sense, you could say that this was why Shurikens and Kunais were useless in the series. If you had to make 44 handseals for a powerful jutsu, it would mean that it could be interfered with by your opponent. You can kill them with Shuriken and Kunais, but since the handsigns reduce so much, that window is gone and now these weapons are useless
Basically using hand seals in Naruto are kind of like wands in Harry Potter. Wizards for the most part need wands and have to move them specific ways to weave spells, but a sufficiently talented wizard can pull off wandless spells. I guess similar to magic words as well, as sometimes wizards need to say specific words to activate a spell but sometimes they just point the wand. It all seems to be a matter of how skilled and experienced you are.
20:15 I mean just on first thought maybe, but I think seeing a battle playout with like kicking techniques, trying to disrupt what you know is a powerful jutsu, more usage of your opponents hand for jutsus and stuff on a similar level would be cool to have seen in fights.
Hand seals are also know as “weaving chakra” so make sense that the characters get strong and better chakra control they got the less they need hand sign
You've only got a couple inaccuracies this time. This is one of your most accurate videos yet, good job. Hand Seals are basically training wheels. They help mold your Chakra, and that's about it. They're a focal point. Training wheels. That's about it lol.
3:13 I always understood it as the opposite. You need to shape your chakre (your mental and physical energy) to make Jutsu and handseals are just an aid to do so. Because there are a characters that can use one handed seals, and jutsus that require none. And it makes sense when you consider their origins in buddism. There are mental aids to recite mantras

I’m not entirely caught up in Boruto so maybe this wouldn’t be possible, I feel it would, but I think a good video would be a ranking and explaining for Kara. Your videos are amazing by the way, listen to them at work and when I’m driving!
Originally handseals were supposed to be a reason for ninja to have to use taijutsu and not just spam fireballs. As time wore on and the most popular parts of Naruto were the cool flashy effects to keep it on par with other anime of the time this limitation was lessoned and forgotten. Kind of stealing away a lot of what Kakashi was set up to be. Imo the combat and not the jutsu will always be my favorite parts of the fights. Rock Lee being one of my favorites for that reason, but darn if Naruto doesnt become proficient at throwing them hands later on as well.
I feel like hand seals is like the use of saying spells in Harry Potter. They just got better, and therefore didn’t have to speak it, they thought it and did the proper wrist flick.
And regarding seals in general, its shape is related to the "contact surface". It is the equivalent of an alphabet but done with your fingers and skin as surface. If you look at the shape you make with those signs, they have different contact positions and surfaces between the 2 hands, which is used to regulate the chakra. As people are made of yin and yang, the left and right hands act as terminals of a battery that join together, and the various shapes you make with your fingers are like adding a resistor, capacitor, transistor to the circuit, one by one to make the "word" that equal to that technique. When they join hands, they are using the maximum surface between the 2 hands using their palm; that means that your entire essence is molded on the maximum surface possible, hence that is why they do it when they need to use a lot of chakra. You can technically do it with one hand but you need to be very skilled, and you can see that only twice in the entirety of the manga I believe.
I’ve always thought of this like wand-less or incantation-less magic in Harry Potter. Most wizards/witches need wands to channel and focus their magic, but highly skilled people can just “do it.”
I have a question, If hand signs are usefull for molding chakra, wouldn't had it better if Minato, Jiraja and Naruto use hand signs to ease the learning of the rasengan and aplying a nature chakra to it, I mean by this video I understand that they pretty much brute force the developing of the rasengan by doing the hard way instead of the easier way of adding hand signs.
One thing I'm surprised you didn't mention is Jiraiyas foot seals. It seems like something you would have seen other powerful ninja learn. Jiraiya's use case for it was so that he could prepare for sage mode. You would think that ninjas who may have their hands busy using weapons or that lost a limb in battle like Naruto, Sasuke, A, or even Minato (not that he lost a limb before he died) would have been able to channel chakra with foot seals. It was already a land of waves arc training task to channel chakra through feet, so it's not like it's not well established that it should be within the realm of possibility.

He has another shadow clone applying the wind release to the Rasengan, and that shadow clone, despite having both hands free, never uses hand seals. I don't recall it ever being stated that hand seals are required to perform the nature transformation in itself.
Kishimoto probably just got tired of drawing the hand signs so he had characters use one hand sign
The actual explanation 😂
I think it's less that he got tired of it, and more that it would be repetitive on something fairly routine and non exciting when he would rather use the panel space on the fight itself.
@@phonyalias7574 maybe
Probably would be less weird if he at least remembered to use the first or last seal instead of just using whatever, or skipping them altogether.
@@Appletank8 yeah probably
My new head cannon is that there’s a multi hand sign variant of the shadow clone, but Naruto being Naruto only bothered to learn the one hand sign version.
That... that sounds like Naruto.
What? This one has too many signs! That's too complicated. I'll do this one, there's just one! Not bothering to read enough to realize that's the advanced version of the jutsu.

They broke down hand seals in og Naruto at the Academy.

But wasn't Haku like the first person to do a one handed seal...
Haku is pretty much always left out of hand sign discussions for some reason. I'll never understand it.
Indeed…..
no he wasn’t. it was just said extremely powerful ninja were able to use one handed seals
That is because his hand seal speed was faster then the sharringon. Mind you Kakashi had ms unlocked when he fought itachi
Hinata used hand signs to activate the Byakugan when she fought Neji.
See that's how we knew she was about to get her ass kicked

You talking about Neji dying to a piece of flying stick?
Lmao.
Fodder level death for a fodder character. That was his fate.
Given that the sharingan translated to Copy Wheel Eye...yeah, this seems a legitimate take. Not to mention, it even allows the user to copy taijutsu.
The other sharingan users could not do it, so Kakashi is just that awesome.
@@schwarzerritter5724 didnt sasuke do it? to copy rock lee or was it just practise?
We still see Boruto,Kashin Koji and others still use hand signs in the Boruto series. It’s nice to see them still sticking to their shinobi roots
Me too i think thats a good writers decision to show that shinobi are still alive in the new generation, and shows where boruto stands
I don’t watch it because it’s trash but did they stop using hand signs ? If they did that’s just another reason not to watch it😂
@@Sparks2520 its not fully gone, its like shippuden in terms of handsign use but theres also the introduction of scientific ninja tools that allow people to use ninjutsu without molding chakra or something along those lines so handsigns are becoming obsolete and the age of the shinobi is coming to an end. Basically if people still need a full number of hand seals it's a Skill Issue
I think its pretty interesting that jiraya was able to make jutsu with His feet when he battled pain
When tf was that i couldn’t even find it after looking it up
I think its was when he Charged His sage Mode. He didnt have His hands so he used His feet for a jutsu. Or i remember things wrong
I think it too long because he had to summon the Sage toads.
Honestly, the reason Gara is my favorite character is because he basically never had to use signs when everyone else did.
Giant Sand Burial against Kimimaro probably was the only time and it was glorious
Naruto hardly does either, but that's largely due to the fact that he uses so few jutsus. Shadow Clones require 1 seal, ransengan and all its variations don't use any. The only jutsu he uses pre-Boruto that requires multiple seals is summoning.
Most powerful jutsu Naruto uses by clapping of hands is when he’s about to chow down on some Ramen
W
I think Haku also used one hand to make hand signs.
Hands are generally the hardest thing for most artists to draw so basing the whole power system in detailed and intricate hand poses was either massive flex from Kishimoto or terrible planning.
Why Sakura just standing there angry like that 2:06
Good one...😂
I remember seeing Kakashi and Zabuza use hand signs while watching it on Cartoon Network in 2005.
same bro. i saw it in 2008 tho
i only recently watched it last year but i remember seeing bits and peices of it in 2014 on cartoon network @@JEMA333

“Why don’t we see hand seals anymore” power creep
“Ninjas running around next to each other weaving seals” is hilarious 😭😭😭
I always assumed they were just weaving them SO FAST, since they can move at the speed of light.
I just realized Naruto's status as Hashirama's reincarnation was foreshadowed by all the plants in his house.
Feet signs were the best hand signs. Literally no one except Jiraiya knew how to do them.
Boruto still uses hand signs for Thunderclap Arrow and Gale Palm, but yeah there's a lot less everywhere.
Kirin is the BEST hand sign combo... especially when Sasuke almost used it on Team 7 at the beginning of Shippudden before Orochimaru stopped him 😂😂
I'm no naruto lore expert, but I feel like one possible in-universe justification for hand seals, the changing combination and their eventual disappearance is that hand seals are meant to be ways to visualise how you shape your chakra.
I always assumed they just didn’t animate it, and in my head cannon they where doing all their hands signs during all the inevitable flashbacks.
Another awesome video but I still know nothing about Rock lee. When is the man going to get some recognition?
Haku was a goat 🐐. One handed hand signs and a stomp!

The memory of the justu didn't come from Kakashi dude. It came from the Sharingan. It memorizes everything it sees.

You need to make a ranking video for naruto summons
❤Awesome as always thanks
Haku was like the first ninja to use 1 handed signs. In the anime
Man I don't even think Oda would do the hand sign thing for the whole run and he's a mad man
Last 2 videos were struggling my guy! Do a Versus or deep bios or something other than the last 2 videos
I’ve always thought of this like wand-less or incantation-less magic in Harry Potter. Most wizards/witches need wands to channel and focus their magic, but highly skilled people can just “do it.”

New fan theory: characters still use hand seals, but now they're too fast for us to see
I have a question, If hand signs are usefull for molding chakra, wouldn't had it better if Minato, Jiraja and Naruto use hand signs to ease the learning of the rasengan and aplying a nature chakra to it, I mean by this video I understand that they pretty much brute force the developing of the rasengan by doing the hard way instead of the easier way of adding hand signs.
I was requesting this video for a while! Thank you NcHammer23
I liked this video 🔥🔥🔥⚡️
