I do appreciate how they started this season with the literal smallest characters possible, and ended with quite possibly the largest characters possible.
I'm pretty sure I also made that joke in the comments in the Galaxtus rundown and the acutal episode. Still funny and no copyright compliant here. Sorry if I sound petty.
I genuinely don’t know why the transforming line pisses people off so much, nem himself says that unicron usually only speaks in facts so him just giving a blunt answer to galactus is still in character. Transforming doesn’t feel like a “he said the thing” line.
Same, I actually got chills at the line. Galactus's mocking "are you running away now pussy?" Just being responded with such a cold line felt raw as fuck In general most of Unicron's dialogue, outside of the rhyimg, felt like him just "stating facts" as Nem put it anyway... The only reason they're NOT facts is because Galactus is bigger than anything Unicron has ever experienced, so of course those "facts" become mere boasts, since the only difference between the two is surely whether the statements can be backed up or not.
One thing I wanna mention is that Galactus looks different to everyone so while Galactus probably had a different most likely transformer insipired look from Unicrons POV, but Im just thinking while Unicron sees some deity Galactus just sees a meal.
I think the ending worked better in the storyboards where it was implied that Unicron used the Nullifier to destroy the multiverse and therefore “winning” even changing the quote to be “Finally, after eons, I have won.” It also implies that Galactus brought the multiverse back to life since he can just create new life from nothing though I will say that Galactus’ final line in the battle is infinitely better than his final line in the storyboard. Also great review.
If you haven't seen it, the moment they were homaging for Orson Welles came from the bloopers of a wine commercial he did, where he was clearly plastered beyond any capacity to make intelligle sentences. If you want a quick 1 minute chuckle, I recommend it.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure that Unicron was the one who initiated the whole speaking in rhymes thing, starting right after he absorbed a ton of stars and planets and grew to the point where he’s punching through entire galaxies. If anything, it’s Galactus who is playing along.
I can’t prove it, but I’m 90% sure Unicron’s model was based around his Haslab figure. This therefore means Unicron is the only Death Battle combatant 3d model I physically own.
Like with Bill vs Discord and Madness Bubbles I got to see Galactus and Unicron chucking galaxies at each other so I am more than satisfied! And In some way Galactus did vore Unicron at the end. Also congratulations on Tom vs Wile winning the TOC and I hope you have a Happy New Year Biff!
Everyone's acting like Unicron's rhymes were unprecedented, but be honest if you were in a fight and your opponent started dropping sick bars halfway through, you'd be intimidated too right?
Unrelated but I am so excited to hear your thoughts on gojo vs makima, cause those are probably my favorite characters death battle has ever had and I would love to hear your thoughts and share some of mine, and brilliant review as always man. I was in the middle of working out but stopped to watch this haha
@@dannylopez5976 basically I think it's a great death battle that could've been godly if the runtime was like longer and the scale was grander, I have more in depth thoughts but that's just a tldr
I can kinda buy by Galactus going instant galaxy size since he is supposed be far stronger than Unicron so I think it would be safe to say he could instantly keep up as for Unicron’s dialogue, I’m no expert on his character but I wouldn’t really say it’s out of his character to boast given some of his lines in Rise of the Beast as well as his “I am savegery” speech in the analysis. Though again Im no expert so correct me if I’m wrong
I fucking love this episode. It's beautiful af and I love the analysis. I'm excited af for season 11 and it looks like it is going to have goated battles (hopefully😅)
id say megatron vs freezbie was my fav not the most balenced fight but the perfect representation of the characters and fight animation was epic. loved it, thanks to devilartimis for the animation.
This season was amazing, when my lowest rankings are 6/10s then I’m more than confident in saying this was a peak season. I couldn’t be happier, it’s literally the season that got the most 10/10s from me and I believe it’s the category with the most episodes in it this season.
Hmm, my Death Battle Season 10 episode lump of coal bag doesn't seem to be working this year. Oh well. I hope you, your friend group, and anyone that is not a Unicron-Level of being an asshole have a Happy New Year! Oh no the score rating was eating in the first batch of milk and cookies of this fight! How will we ever decide on one now?
Biggest takeaway was the scaling was actually good, which just reinforced why this is the best episode of the show alongside the amazing analysis, music, and animation.
I'm just going to go ahead and respond to the "Unicron is out of character" stuff "Unicron doesn't quip" "Then it pleases me to be the first" -Transformers the movie (1986). This is literally Unicron's second or third line of dialogue ever, the only way this isn't a quip is if you genuinely believed Unicron was pleased to be the first ever to summon Megatron. Which would honestly be more out of character then half the stuff he does in the episode. "Unicron doesn't boast" "Even as we speak, I am feeding off the angry energy making me stronger by the second. Your minions may think they're wearing me down Optimus, but with every attack they're feeding me. As long as hatred exists I shall remain impervious to attack." -Transformers Armada. That's a whole damn monologue of him boasting about how in- *title card* he is. Speaking of monologues, let's talk about the complaint that Unicron just sounds like a normal super villain like G1 cartoon Megatron. "The point is you're a fool!" -Transformers the movie (1986) "For a time, I considered sparing your wretched little planet Cybertron. But now you will witness it's dismemberment!" -Transformers the movie (1986) "now know me as Unicron, Your destroyer!" -Transformers Prime. "Parasites! They too shall know my wrathful hand, after I'm finished with you." -Transformers Prime. "The line of primes has grown weak in my absence. Thus you shall fall." -Transformers Prime. And finally, the rhyming... "Yes disciple of Primus, on this very day. For Unicron may be one, but we all are Unicron." -Transformers Prime. While it isn't exactly rhyming. Can you it's super out of character for a guy who says a line like that to rhyme? Truth be told there's probably a lot more examples I missed. This is all without using rise of the beasts as well, which only adds to the amount of dialogue that lines up with how Unicron was portrayed in the episode.
Two good, thematic analyses, and the fight is GORGEOUSLY rendered. ...However, the writing and choreography REALLY brings it down. I wouldn't necessarily call this episode a wet fart, but after an INCREDIBLE string of episodes that really understood their characters and what they can bring to a Death Battle, it just feels like they failed to jump the final hurdle. But really, that just speaks to the overall quality of Season 10. In most other seasons, an episode like this would easily be in the tops. It just had some steep competition that it couldn't live up to.
Sorta share the same opinion. To me this sorta feels like, Hulk Vs Brolly again. Agreed with all your points, the fight is gorgeous looking but... That's it really. The thing I'm probably most disappointed in actually is the sound design. As cool as the destruction is visually (Unicorn knuckle duster being sick as hell is a highlight), I didn't feel or rather, hear... anything. Hell, superman lasering those mountains in the episode before this felt like it had way higher impact. It feels very... Style over substance I guess. That and I had to listen to the fight multiple times to figure out what Unicron was saying, (Which might be appropriate given sound doesn't travel the same way in space, but I digress). Really, this fight is nothing more than a high 7 outta 10 for me. The gripes aren't numerous, but the few I have really bring down what is an otherwise great episode for me. It's certainly not a bad episode, and it's certainly not a bad season finale, it's just not my personal cup of tea.
One cool thing that I think most people might not notice is that Unicron's model is actually the Haslab Unicron (the one that's 27 inches tall). The big reason I noticed it was the kibble (transformers lingo for bits of an alternate mode hanging of the transformers robot mode) such as the backpack, calves and the wing design matching up to the toy model to a T. I'd just figured I'd drop that here as I find it super cool.
I’m honestly really Glad Biff stopped using number scores considering it just seems like everyone just focuses on the score and not his points he made about what he thinks about the episode
They didn't show Lego Galactus, 0/10. In all seriousness, Galactus vs. Unicron was a very solid episode. Wile E. Vs. Tom won the Tournament of Champions, which is based as hell. I'm expecting the episode to be very fun. Just have a moment, in the fight, where Tom shoots himself in the ass with a shotgun. That alone would give it a 10/10 for me.
@@BiffWeed I always thought that was just a Chibi Galactus. If it is indeed Lego Galactus, I feel kind of stupid. I wear glasses and my sight is still shit.
Happy holidays Biff. Regarding the next time: the Fool, Death, and a the World? I guess “The Fool is fighting The World on Death Battle”. Clearly this is saying Scott Pilgrim’s on next time, and definitely isn’t saying that a certain character who wields The Fool arcana is fighting a certain character heavily associated with The World arcana.
I do appreciate how they started this season with the literal smallest characters possible, and ended with quite possibly the largest characters possible.
Oh yeahhhh ant man vs atom
Ironically, considering the fight ends up in overspace. Antman and Atomend up bigger than Galactus or Unicron, lol
Ironicly ant man is bigger than both
If the primere was Osmosis Jones vs White Blood Cell U-1146, it would've made that even more ironic.
I'm pretty sure I also made that joke in the comments in the Galaxtus rundown and the acutal episode. Still funny and no copyright compliant here. Sorry if I sound petty.
And that kids, is how Galaclaus defeated Unikrampus and saved not just Christmas, but every other happy holiday and the kids that celebrate it.

For me it's not Unicron's line, it's Galactus's face. He makes the goofiest expression on the planet (pun intended)

As most have said- best season of the show. I don't have much to say. Just... phenomenal all around.
