I think medical professionals ascribe the appetite suppressive impact of Berberine to the placebo effect. I know it has quelled a raging hunger that I feel post swim workout- - (along w/giving me potty trots). It does NOT enhance my athletic performance but it does help me get into a deeper restorative sleep cycle. Simply put, I know when I am not using it.

Metformin is a synthetic based on a natural compound. Many side effects to speak of. Berberine is just as or more effective in my experience and no side effect for me at least. As for cost, it is just a bit more expensive. Assuming a good quality product, I prefer the Berberine and I have switched after 15 years on the Met.

Now, compared to Berberine, it’s a little more pricey, but it’s worth the cost for me. Berberine tears up my stomach, dihydroberberine is easy on my stomach. Works great. @@adamcraig1468 - actually it’s oxidized LDL which causes inflammation, the result of metabolic syndrome, or too many carbs. The carbs trigger insulin which tries to store carbs as fat until there’s no more room in the cells. LDL is then turned loose into the blood stream as free radicals, becomes oxidized, or rusts, and can lead to an eruption in the endothelium (wall of the artery) resulting in occlusion. So in this respect you’re correct if you say oxidized LDL causes heart attacks. But overall LDL (non-oxidized low density lipoprotein) is very low in most patients who experience myocardial infarctions, or heart attacks.

Berber one is used for digestive and other toxic issues in China, for as long as Chinese medicine exists. It’s a common cabinet must for every Chinese household. This being said a diarrhea is really not suppose to happen. It could be with you take with it at the same period of time or dosage.
