Tommy is simply a priceless gift to us all... I love watching him playing with other musicians, he's always respectful. Then you see the level of reverence he shows when playing with legends like Chet and Les and it's such a beautiful thing.
Tommy Emanual probably one of the worlds best acoustics guitarist alive today. Plays, classical, country, jazz and is a great teacher and mentor for young people. On the same stage with the late great Les Paul what a gift, what a video thanks so much for sharing. I will watch this often.
Look at the absolute DELIGHT, on both their faces, as they create this in front of an audience. (Sincere props to Lou Pallo and the bass player for not joining in: Sometimes not playing anything is the greatest contribution a sideman can make.)
The guy on acoustic guitar is Tommy Emmanuel. He has done a lot of different work on acoustic guitar and he is really amazing! You should check him out :)
imo - ala Segovia, Chet Atkins ..Tommy will be forever the poster boy of modern acoustic finger style. And its always great to see Les, even with all the issues he had with his hands ..still bashing out tunes on his GeeTar! And thanks to the internet, future generations will be able to be inspired by people like Tommy. Imagine if we had video of Paganini (for example). Thats whats great about today, we have a world (from the past and going forwards) that is mostly documented on audio+video. We're lucky enough to be the first to have access to such a vast archive of information. I wonder what talent that will inspire? :)
Tommy leave's no space for Les Paul to shine. He's a great solo guitarist but it seems like he doesn't quite get how to not play. Gotta keep some rhymes in between the lines.

Listen to him with Chet!
When Tommy plays with someone else, he’s always laying back, accenting, and driving when appropriate. A consummate musician.
I think the only thing that would have made Tommy happier is if Chet Atkins were still alive and could have joined him and Les on stage
I've never seen such a touching movie.
Tears almost filled my eyes.
Paddy Lucky , Your right
Les paul is genius, his guitar lines here are beautiful, love the excitement between them both here.

Totally agree. You can see they both considered it for a moment then thought better of it.
Nikki Parrot from Australia on the bass.

@@kwerk2011 Well, somebody was playing a Bass line there, apart from Tommy.
@@Zacharia503 No, Tommy was playing the bass line on guitar, along with rhythm and melody. Beautifully, I might add.
There is so much respect going on in this. Tommy is fantastic of course but I really like how he tries to engage with Les.
Les Paul never hit a note in bad taste . Tommy was great.
So clean! Fabulous!

Who's on the acoustic guitary, playing with Les Paul?
wow.
Legends
Joy.
How old is les paul that time?
90s
Yes but can they do Loui Loui?
Who's on the acoustic guitar, playing with Les Paul?
It's Tommy Emmanuel!
Les has the spirit but with his aged body it seems to be diificult for him to do the things he did before..
But what he could do at this age was the best that he ever had.

Les has no idea what to play...
