Had an escort 9500ix too. Been wanting to upgrade for a while. Last week my wife said" I could use a radar detector too" She now has a 9500ix and I got a brand new uniden R7
Same, had a 9500ix for years, got it when it was the new hotness and it was awesome and paid for itself many times over. But I just got a Max 3 and it is so much more of an upgrade than I expected. I love it. Also MUCH more quiet with the band selections and K notch, etc. On the 9500ix it was just X/K/KA band on or off. Being able to select which freqs within that band to ignore is huge. Still get some 24.124 falses from frikken Mazda CX-5s but other than that she's pretty much quiet unless its legit! And I dont really speed beyond 10-15 over but Ive never driven without a detector so I just like to know. Apparently Unidens stuff is top notch now too.

I have had radar detectors for almost 30 years. I have exclusively had K1's (when they were good) and Valentine 1. My Valentine 1 is about 15 years old and still going strong. I could not begin to explain how much money, time and headache it has saved me. I will be buying another Valentine 1 for my wifes car in the near future.

I bought a $160 Belltronic Radar Detector back in the late 90s early 2000s and it was like getting away with murder. This was before the LiDAR guns. Haha back then Uniden was one of the worse now I see they are one of the bests.

So i got a mirror mount where its blended into the mirror. connected to my pioneer screen if a police is behind me i remove the illumination from the detector thru my pioneer screen and allow my pioneer screen to show me my radar info. My screen automatically pops up on my pioneer when there is a radar threat.
Pioneer dmh-wt7600nex floating screen unit, using a maestro idatalink rr2 with escort redline 360c. You have to get the rr2 cause thats only 1 that will bridge the radar to the pioneer unit
My R8 has saved me REAL good a couple times, usually about 3-5miles heads up on KA in the Canadian prairies... but it only works when there cars ahead of you getting spot checked... if the roads are empty in front of you, you get no heads up because the cops won't have their radar on until they see you.
So even tho I may use a $600 radar detector believe me that device is worthless because it can’t block anything unless I am using laser jammers or a scrambler. I use scramblers is because it protects against laser and police radar out there by allowing more time to slow down without them seeing your speeds. Over 15 years since I have been using a scrambler and still today 2023 I use it on rears of my vehicle and in front 💪🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Which It’s not an active jammer period. if so it would be totally illegal to jam police radar which is federal offense and they’ll even know as well. So a scrambler confuses the police computer abilities to see speeds in a legally without jamming radar. So basically the officer sees what he already used to seeing. It’s nothing different. @@peiytonslatt4224the radar detects radar signals only. When you get hit by any laser gun the radar will let you know youve been hit by laser. Lidar gives the police instantaneous mph once it hits your vehicle. It doesnt give you any chance to slow down cause its laser. The only way to defeat lidar/laser guns is with a laser jammer which gives you some time to slow down cause its jamming the lidar gun. The only thing is laser jammers are illegal. So to prevent the police from knowing you are jamming their signal you slow down to the appropriate speed as fast as possible and deactivate the laser jammers. Which allow a cop to get a speed as if nothing happen.

Get a R7 if you don’t want to pay the price of a R8. I barely notice a difference between my R8 and R7 in detection range. You can find the R7 $200 sometimes $300+ cheaper then the R8

Aw radar detectors work excellent as far i as keep you more alert of police and any other threats out there. But a radar detector by itself would be useless against laser and getting clocked speeding up close. So most smart police officers would literally observe your speeds and wait till your near them closely then turn on they’re radar on you at the laser minute which it’ll be too late to slow down in time. That is why i don’t trust using a radar detector by itself because it’s not enough protection when it can’t block the officers from getting your speeds even tho it may detect police reading your speeds.
Yes, if the radar detector is located on your windshield and its blocking any of your view sight, you will get a ticket MAYBE. So its best to put it somewhere where it doesn’t obstruct your vision 👍 but owning one is not illegal in most states

@@richardcranium9386he R7 and R8 are very detectable with the spectre 3 and spectre elite. Uniden isnt known for having undetectable detectors, but they are a hell of a lot better than a 360c in terms of performance which is too slow, doesnt pickup I/O at all. Sure, its good for falses but also blocks a lot of K and some Ka which is no beuno. R8 paired with highway radar is top notch, custom BSM filtering, custom processing rules, and the whole nine yards. We've caught Ka from 10+ kms down the road, even in the mountains we still get over 1km detection distance which is amazing for the twisties. Radar detectors and laser jammers are also legal where i live and legal in the majority of US states as well.

Uniden is DEFINITELY worth it. My R7 can pick up Ka radar a mile and a half away on the interstate. Plenty of time to slow down

I'm definitely getting on of these I know my dad has them I had speeding tickets so now I drive under the speed limit there's alot of cops in kansas one of the cops accused me of swerving and not pulling over I did get a warning but I do have a good lawyer these cops love love giving people tickets it's annoying af like I'm just trying to get home I've been driving since I was a kid no accidents

I used to love the Scat content, you should have gotten a last call hellcat charger like I did as a scat upgrade, bmw's are like for those with family's in their 50's and up.. so it's not too late, get one of th remaining hellcat allocations, and start making great content, again...

Further, there is just no excitement to watching a bmw drive around... I can do that in my dad's, he has an M8. I loved the SCAT drives in Mexico, the mods, etc. BMW's are fine cars.. Just saying it doesn't appeal to most. Who loved Louies SCAT content.. thats it, not criticizing BMW, just talking about what standard Dodge fans like, and they don't have much interest in BMW's... I love Corvettes too, I have a 2019, C7, 7 speed, I like Camaros and Mustangs too. There are a lot of great cars out there, but BMW's are just not interesting to me.. That's all. It's not a cut, it's just my opinion.

The Uniden R7 is undetectable by RDDs unless it’s feet away and the R8 is completely undetectable

@@richardcranium9386he R7 and R8 are very detectable with the spectre 3 and spectre elite. Uniden isnt known for having undetectable detectors, but they are a hell of a lot better than a 360c in terms of performance which is too slow, doesnt pickup I/O at all. Sure, its good for falses but also blocks a lot of K and some Ka which is no beuno. R8 paired with highway radar is top notch, custom BSM filtering, custom processing rules, and the whole nine yards. We've caught Ka from 10+ kms down the road, even in the mountains we still get over 1km detection distance which is amazing for the twisties.
Radar detectors and laser jammers are also legal where i live and legal in the majority of US states as well.

This scanner was good in the beginning and then it stopped picking up radar even when i updated it. Trash 🚮 do not buy it
