- What's living in Elburn IL like? Well...let's visit Elburn Il! Elburn Il a small community tucked away less than 20 minutes west of St. Charles Illinois and about 55 minutes from downtown Chicago. Elburn Il has a nice little downtown with some bars and restaurants. Living in Elburn Il does offer conveniences like shopping close by on Randall rd, two Metra stops (La Fox is close by depending on where you live). Elburn Il is also 20 minutes east of Dekalb ILlwhere Northern Illinois University is located. You will see by this video that there is a lot of green space in Elburn, rolling cornfields, spaced out lots, some newer housing developments along with established neighborhoods. Elburn IL has reasonable taxes and cost of living and the school districts are above average. If your looking for country setting with nice homes but is still convenient to shopping, Elburn Il could be a great place for you to live!

Came across yr vlog, so I thought I'd watch it, & now I'm curious about relocating. How bad r winters in Elburn? Any yoga studios, ballet studios, organic food, health food store, nearby?
Robyn Hope well the winters in the area can drag on...we do get snow and some pretty cold days. The good thing is this area seems to get the roads cleaned up fairly quick. As far as all those amenities...some of them are in Elburn some are about 10-15 minutes away. Geneva/St. Charles area has all of these options. They are smaller but very nice river towns that people travel to just to shop/dine out/etc.
