@@thousandpounddoggarage my heads have the guide built in just stock gen 1 350 but when I called jegs they said I couldn't use roller tips that I would have to grind and widen out the slot the pushrod slides into.
@@JorgeRamirez-mi2xv You mean widen the hole the pushrod rides in going down the the lifter? I opened mine up with a drill bit. If you mean where it rides on the rocker, that seems kind of weird.
Are the threads for the intake manifold bolts the same as the small block 350 with a regular intake like on the tbi 350? And if so what is the tap size?
This is a Vortec motor with Vortec heads, so the bolt pattern is different. The Vortec intake only has 4 bolts per side. They do sell a 12 bolt Air Gap intake for the SBC.
I have heads with no guide plates what type of rockers are you using.
I’m using stamped steel roller tip rockers from Comp Cams. They are self-aligning, I also don’t have guide plates.

Right now I just ordered stamp steel from comp cams non aligning non roller tip.
@@JorgeRamirez-mi2xv Hope they work out for you.

I just realized you asked if the thread size is the same. I believe they are. Should be 3/8” / 16.
