Boss nailed it and the price is fair. Okay DI Out is missing. After working everyday with a computer for 8 hours i just honestly love the simplicity of analog pedals even the options are limited.
I had a Boss ME-8B in the early 2000s (previously owned by Stu Zender) and it was amazing for synth sounds. If it hadn't been stolen from our rehearsal room I would probably still be using it now. The GX-100 is giving me serious nostalgia for that pedal.
recently went the the GT-1B into a Radial J48 in the studio GT-1B into a Katana Bass 210 with XLR/DI out live i chose the GT-1B mostly for the bass preamp models, which beat the GX easily. the GT-1B is getting old, so I wouldn't be surprised to see something new from Boss for bass at NAMM 2023 next month. perhaps a Katana bass head/cab or GX-100B.
I been using the GT-1B so much lately that I barely use my pedalboard anymore. Even in studio it’s quiet enough. Just wish it had a DI but other than that, lots of bang for the price
@@wren23_bass-synths that's why i use the Radial J48 with the GT-1B - i ALWAYS use a DI for guitar and bass no DI on the GT-1B keeps the cost down i had to special order my GT-1B, none of the 6 Guitar Centers in my area had any in stock. Glad i grabbed one before they disappear like the Roland VB-99.
I was thinking the same thing about the Zoom B6. I’m a bassist but play rhythm and some classical guitar. That pedal made me take a serious look @ this. I’m getting it!🤨🎶👍🏾
You should also play some clean bass tones (not just "studio bass" preset) - because some people will think this is just for fancy synth-like and distortion sounds
So, which is the better choice for a bass player: Zoom B6 or the Boss GX-100? I truly enjoy BOSS products, but I think the Zoom might be a better tool for bassists. Just wish the Zoom had a metal housing...
I just got the B6 last week with the plan on retiring my Boss GT-1B. Absolutely love the B6, but I'm still using the GT-1B with it and they play together nicely. I shouldn't even be watching this video lol
That was the choice I was left with 🤘🎸 I love my Zoom B3N and the B6 Looks ace ! I've played both and both are incredible. I bought my GX100 two weeks ago and I'm not looking back . The signal path and Dsp is way bigger more versatile . Also dose Guitar aswell so for recording it's all there. GX100 Feels better than any of the other Moddlers I've tried, no latency and it feels so real !!!
I like the Boss GT-10B Bass Processor better. I've owned it for quite a long while. It also has the advantage over this one in that UT has stereo pair ¼" outs and stereo pair xlr outs
Years ago it used to be understood that multi effects for guitar were voiced for guitar, thus the need for the 'bass' version, like the gt6b (I own this one) has this changed? I now see demos all the time for guitar multi effect units being used on a bass. I'm still under the assumption that guitar and bass effects are different...
Hi, I had the same thoughts about the multieffects. And I guess most manufacturers want to save money or it’s not profitable enough by creating devices for both, bass and guitar. (Still waiting for the boss GT-100B ;) ) Some of them fit better for bass, others not. I first thought, GX-100 will not be suitable for bass, but I bought it and I think different about it now. There are lots of effects, that are specifically voiced for bass like the octaver, harmonizer or OD/ Dist. and so on… not as many like for guitar, so there is still the focus of this unit. But really enough in my opinion. And the possibilities of creating and customize your sounds are huge. I already recorded with it and using the GX with the band and after a short while of adjusting it , I can say it does it’s job better than any other multieffect I owned or tried so far. (Ok not the „highend“ ones like Kemper or FM9…etc)Sounds are very good, response and feel is absolutely amazing. So yes, this one works great for bass! Hope that the bass community of the GX-100 keeps growing!
Wow! I was looking @ the Zoom B6 for my basses but after listening to this and Lars incredible playing; I found the pedal for basses AND guitar. Boss got it covered in this thing. Love it.🤨🎶❤️👍🏾
Having had premium boss multi effects units through the years got tired of programming them etc so I went back to a simpler pedalboard with the pedals I use A lot easier
No DI when it's to be used direct from Bass to Pa seems daft, plus not one sound demonstrated was usable for most main stream music. Plus a bit dated, having midi options but charging for Bluetooth options seems old with a late addition.
The big question is: does this thing finally have something like true bypass? The previous models were great but it was nearly impossible to get an uneffected bass sound. That's the one an only reason my GT-10B sleeps in my shelf since many years and I never touched a Boss multi-effect pedal ever since. Unfortunatelly it seems to be a "Boss own" problem because I never had that problem with Line 6, Zoom, etc.
it seems more and more one box solution pedals are missing a di, which I agree is mindblowingly stupid. I mean, what is it, ten bucks extra to add one?
Roland does the same thing with their digital piano and synth gear. Randomly leaving out obvious features for their gear that the competition doesn't even think twice about including. Not surprised.
No DI out at this price range? Even line 6 had a well rounded product almost a decade ago and I am still rocking a POD HD 500X that has more features than this thing.
Don’t get it, the interface is so obtuse and unintuitive it sucks out any value its price point, sounds, routing and build quality (which all are decent) provide. Just keep putting down money and get a quad cortex or something, it actually delivers on the interface in spades in comparison. It is really that bad, I’m sorry.

It's because the human brain prefers to twist with our fingers rather than poke with them. That's my theory and I'm standing by it. 😉

Man thats fantastic. Multi FX pedals have come a loong way.

Only reason I went with the Zoom B6 over this is because I don't play the guitar. But if I did? This, hands down. Awesome multi effects pedal.

Nope

Zoom B2 Four next? 😁

A Di is probably one of the main features that's makes a multi effect versitile. Wonder how the decision was made to not include that...
Does it have crossover for parallel effects chain?
Bring on the zoom B2 four review...yes I know it's on the way...I get Antsy...

Could you use this pedal with a Preamp DI?
Sure
Still use boss GT5 don't have money to buy new Boss guitar effect
@5:45 what yamaha bass is that? attitude? thnx 👍
Looks a lot like the Billy Sheehan model.
Why would you need a DI?
To go directly into a stage box or an audio interface without losing sound quality over longer distances
