    Helpful review, thank you. I picked up a demo pair used in Tahoe for 2022-23. I plan to ski primarily in Southern California, where conditions are varied with more groomed/hard-pack but with the ability to go off trail and jump into power. I am 5' 10" and 210 pounds, so I went with the 178 cm mode as an advanced (not an expert skier). I am excited to get out there with them!

    I inadvertently rented these and I am really really suprised how much I like them. Or it could be because of the perfectly smooth snow we had today.

      Good snow does make a huge difference, but you like what you like! Get a second opinion on either hard pack or conditions that you normally ski on.

    Hi, thank a lot for this video. How would you compare it to the Maverick 95ti as they seems to adress the same demography / uses ?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  Рік тому

      The Maverick feels more precise from tip to tail due to the stiffness and lighter weight. It's a great carver and has a ton of versatility. Sender 94 has more of an off-trail character, so depending on where you're skiing mostly, the Sender could be a better option for versatility purposes.

    How does this compare to the Rustler 9 and Blade Optic 96 as a narrower Western all-mountain ski?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  Рік тому

      The Rossignol is the most directional of the three, with a flatter tail and a more groomer-like character. The Rustler and Line make a lot of sense for softer snow opportunities. Between those two, the Line is a bit lighter and more agile but still pretty grippy!

    Would it be crazy to pair this with a Duke PT for the occasional trip up the skin track?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  2 місяці тому +1

      Not crazy just heavy. Depends on how much you want to lug and how often you plan on doing it.

      @ @ Bob steered me in the right direction at the warehouse sale with the Enforcer 94 for a daily driver. I come seeking that sage like wisdom again. Hustle 10, Head Kore 93, or Sender 94 for an occasional touring set up. Mostly climbing Stowe in the morning or some Notch runs up 108 from time to time. No real long tours. I’m kinda leaning Hustle. 5’11, 230, advanced skier though I tend to take it pretty easy. Help save me from the endless cycle of overthinking.

      @@spontaneousexploration You're doing fine, and glad you ended up with the Enforcer! I'd lean Hustle 10 as well here. You're getting the width, the added freeride shape, and really nice energy overall. The Kore and Sender are considerably more directional in nature, and if you're encountering softer snow or need more mobility in the touring zone, Hustle is very agile. 180 probably better than 172, but preference is more important than sheer stats.

      @@SkiEssentials Added Volkl Blaze 94 to this equation and that REALLY seems like the way to go. I got the "ah-ha, this is it" moment while looking at that one that I didn't get with the others.

    Hi, i am inbetween of the blackops sender ti and the sender ti 106 or mabye the sender ti 94. I am 60% on pist and 40% off pist. My ski level is advanced. I am looking for the most versatille ski that would Also hold its Ground in the deeper snow. I am about 185 cm and 79kg

    Hi, been searching your movies and website for a ski that suit my needs best. I am 200cm and 105kg guy, 40yo, fit & active, strong intermediate with ambition to progress, looking for a 60% piste 40% off ski. Last few yeras mainly on turing skis i.e. Volkl VTA98, and will keep them for flex and playfulness for powder or spring loose conditions.
    Now after a breake from resorts its time for a 2nd ski set to spend more time on groomers but with option to do off if I am lucky with fresh snow.
    The groomers in my region are typically very hard and icy for most of the day ( high resorts in alps, often with N or NE exposure). I dont do moguls, and rarely approach forest due to long 185+ skis.
    My preference is ca. 90mm strong carver but with torsional flex to spend full day skis regardless of the conditions.
    My first thought was to get some damp ski with metal to adress my wieght. So first, I decided on Enforcer 94, but after watching your tests I realised they are to stiff / agresseive for my profile and i need something more forgiving and playfull. Then I decided on Rustler 9 or new Ranger 94, but wanted to confirm my choice and now I see Sender 94 which I think might also suit.
    How would you compare Sender to Rustler and Ranger?
    I ve checked soothski and on paper they seem to be quite similar however not too many data regarding new models i.e. ranger and sender.
    BTW I rejected Qst, Kore and Kendo with no metal, was also thinking about Brahma.. tough choice🤔

    Jeff, did you ever ski the Sender 94ti at the furthest forward mount point line, of the 3 mount point lines on the ski? I prefer a more forward mounted ski and am wondering if this could be a fun, more playful ski, mounted at the most forward line, yet also still feel quite chargy to rail groomers and just rip around on during sunny, none snowy days? Looking to possibly get this for sunny days and the Sender Free 110 for snowy days.

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  Рік тому

      We never played around with mount point on the 94. I wouldn't go much further than the forward line as it's still a very directional ski by nature.

    How would you compare the sender 94ti to the blizzard rustler 9? Which would you give a higher performance ceiling on groomers/hard pack? Which is more “damp”? Handle afternoon crud better?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  Рік тому +1

      The Sender is more of a directional ski that tracks really straight and true, especially through softer snow. The more rockered Rustler has more of a twin-tipped shape that is better for more creative skiing as it allows the tails to be released easier. I'd say the Rossignol is a smoother carver on groomers and can handle crud better. It's not nearly as loud as the Rustler, so if you like quiet and smooth, I'd look to the Rossignol.

    Hey how does the rossignol 94 sender compare with the bent 90?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  2 роки тому

      Sender 94 is a directional ski, not a twin tip, which creates a pretty significant difference right off the bat. Sender is also a lot stronger. Stiffer, more vibration damping, heavier, etc. More stable at speed and has greater edge grip, but the Bent is a more playful ski, more energetic, and more forgiving, particularly in off-piste terrain and variable snow conditions.

    Hi How does the sender 94ti compere to the volkl mantra m6 and the kendo 88

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  2 роки тому

      It's a bit closer to the Mantra in terms of width, but the overall character is less aggressive than either the Mantra or Kendo. If you're looking for an easier-turning and more floaty option, the Sender is the way to go, but if you want your skis glued to the snow and ripping carved turns, I'd go with the Volkls.

    Hi, thank you for reviews and all hard work! How does this new Sender 94 Ti compare to Fisher Ranger 96? What are the key differences? Note, that I tested Ranger 96 at the end of last season and got a pretty good idea about their performance.

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  2 роки тому +4

      Hi Mikhail!
      I found that Sender 94 pulled you into the turn and rebounded out a lot better than Ranger 96. It just felt a lot more composed in a carved turn from tip to tail, while I felt the Ranger lacked that composure in the tips and tails. Underfoot, and in a shorter-turn capacity, I liked Ranger's feel, but overall, the Sender 94 offered me more performance, stability, and confidence, especially in an on-trail format. In the bumps, trees, and softer snow, I think the freeride inspiration of the Ranger has a bit of an edge, but overall, I'd choose the Rossignol. Hope that helps!

    How does this compare to the enforcer 94 or Rustler 9 in regards to East Coast Powder days on "groomer" trails that have a decent amount of natural ungroomed wild snow? I've struggled in wild chopped up mini-mogul like powder days with my more frontside properly groomed oriented Experience 86 Basalt. Trying to figure out my best ski to add to the quiver for EC days where it snowed 6+ inches the night before and half the trails have been left ungroomed.

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  2 роки тому +1

      The Enforcer will drive right through the fresh to get to the harder stuff while the Rustler likes to stay on top a bit more. I feel like if you have a narrower groomer ski already, the freeride personality of the Rustler is more fun than that of the Enforcer, which is a bit more chargey.

    Hi I was wondering how the Rossingnol Sender 94 would compare to the Volk blaze 94. Doubting which to get...

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  2 роки тому

      The Blaze is a bit lighter with longer rocker in the tips and tails. This makes it a better soft snow performer and touring option while the Sender is more confident in an on-trail and carving format. If you're on-piste more and looking for a more solid ski for carving and power, I'd look to the Sender.

    Hi, I am currently in decision between an Atomic Maverick 95 TI or this Rossignol Sender 94 TI. I am an experienced skier and I am looking for something that can handle high speeds but is very capable of handling some fresh powder. Do you have any recommendations?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  Рік тому

      The Rossignol has a quieter sound and a smoother overall feel to it. Both employ shovel flotation devices--HRZN tech in the Atomic and Air tip in the Rossignol, so they both stay on top of fresh snow easily. The Atomic works better on firmer snow with more of a precise finish to the turn, while the Sender is more capable and predictable in softer and deeper snow. Kind of depends where the bulk of your skiing is to be done, as to shaping your final decision.

    Hi again! How does Sender 94Ti compare to Serpo? Which ski would you pick for all mountain fun? Would 16m (172) radius of Sender 94Ti be more versatile especially off-pist compare to 20m Serpo? Thanks!

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  2 роки тому +1

      I think it's more in how you're going to use it. The Serpo feels like a better on-trail ski, but that doesn't mean it's awful off-trail. In fact, the rocker and lack of metal in the tips and tails makes it pretty quick and fun in the bumps and trees. The Sender is a bit more consistent from tip to tail, and slightly more directional with less tail rocker. I'd likely pick the Serpo because I found it has wonderful energy and rebound.

    Thanks! Sounds good- how does it compare to the HEAD KORE 94?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  2 роки тому

      The Kore is still lighter and stiffer, so is more responsive than the compliant Sender. The Paulownia in the Rossignol is still on the stiff and light side, but it doesn't quite compete with the Kore's use of carbon and karuba to access the full power of the materials. If you're looking to make easier carved turns, I'd look to the Sender, but heavier and more aggressive skiers will likely gravitate to the Kore.
