I was just up there a few weeks ago and the grass was still green. Then, as soon as it got hot dry and windy, a fire springs up. Weird.

It's unlikely that a fire like this just happened to start at the first opportunity, when all the conditions were just right to let it grow into a wildfire and move south into the forest. In other words, these fires are being set.
Not firefighters they are firemen!
