You guys captured the essence of this song perfectly, and I'm glad to see Ryan push aside his disgusting, ever-present happiness and positivity for just long enough to find some enjoyment in a Radiohead tune. 😂
This reminds me of being stuck in a narcissistic relationship for 10 years.... Where All the Love I gave meant nothing & All her bad deeds were getting mirrored onto me. What's that song, "Beautiful girls make you suicidal" ? Anyway, so glad that I made it out of that situation. The song used to make me cry every time I heard it; even though I Always liked it.
From what I've read Yorke was born with a defective left eye that he couldn't even open until numerous surgeries while a child. He was bullied growing up and I'm sure that is a factor contributing to his lifelong struggle with depression and pessimistic outlook on life. Incredible art often comes through suffering though and he is an amazing singer and Radiohead are super-talented musicians. I love that all original members are still in the band and they still get along well with each other.
I know sad songs can be tricky for you guys, especially Ryan, but Radiohead's exit music for a film is a painfully beautiful song lyrically and manages to convey incredible amounts of emotion while being totally subdued. Not playlist probably, but an experience.
I was 20 when this song came out in 1993… was a skater with long hair, girls in our town hated skaters and thought I’d never get married or anything. This song still reminds me of that time. Joined the Navy, did 10 years of service, married now with two kids, still love this song!
The fact that Ryan isn't vibing with this is its own compliment. It's not meant to resonate with happy positivity, so it's doing its job! Creep really achieves what it sets out to do. It's authentic and that's why it hits. And so well crafted and performed to create that creep weirdo vibe. You guys might really like Weird Fishes for a bit of a lift.
I used to think of this girl when I heard this song. I thought she was amazing, and perfect. We were friends, but I wanted more. She wanted someone else. Looking back, I was wrong. She was a drunk, had a lot of problems, far from the perfect girl I thought she was. Now that I met my wife, I see how wrong this girl would’ve been, we never could’ve had the wonderful relationship I have now. Years later we were catching up, and I confessed to her I thought about her when I heard this song. She said she thought about someone else when hearing this song. She thought she was the creep and the weirdo, and couldn’t imagine that someone else would think she was perfect. The moral of the story is they are probably not perfect. You will find someone. And if you feel like the creep, someone out there might think you are perfect. Keep looking for that person. They will show up, and shine when they see you.
Jigsaw Falling Into Place funnily enough is the antithesis of Creep in subject matter, and is definitely the song you guys should do next. It checks all the boxes
Who hasn't felt insecure or out of place at some point in their lives? The song is relatable is many situations. Definitely on my playlist.... plus the guitar riff is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
It's cathartic for people to hear music that resonates with how you feel sometimes. It's amazing if you never feel depressed so you never feel like you need to hear music like this lol.

Dave Chappelle sings this song.. and I think this song could mean many things to different people. Personally to me this song meant a lot to me in high-school. When I was around 15 and being with my first girlfriend. I never knew I could be with someone so beautiful. I was like how did I get her I shouldn't be with her. All of my insecurities resonated with this song. Awesome song
Radiohead f'ing hated the fact that this is their most popular song; but I was a teen in the early '90s...this song resonated with EVERYBODY even more so than Nirvana. At least, where I grew up.
Dave chapelle singing this with the ff is one of my favorite things in the world. The feeling of not measuring up runs deep. Radiohead made the music fit that mood brilliantly.

This song has always been my anthem for adolescence. It captures the inner feelings I had as a kid. I felt like I was destined to be alone. I felt like the weird creep that girls would never be interested in. Luckily, those feelings were just that: feelings. The truth was simply I hadn’t come into my own yet, developing my full personality AND most importantly, my world bubble was still SO small. Once you leave high school and enter the world your sphere of influence grows exponentially! I’m happy to say I’m in my 40’s and CRUSHING life ❤😊. Great review guys!

Emotional and mental health can be so precarious. I’ve struggled with major depressive disorder most of my life and have experienced bouts of hopelessness and I can tell you from experience that it’s the last thing a person wants to feel and if I could just change my mind and be hopeful and optimistic during those times, if it were only that simple, I’d do it in a heartbeat. I think a lot of people know exactly the feelings I’m speaking of and this song brought all of those feelings out into the spotlight and showed us that we aren’t alone and that in itself made us begin to feel more accepted and maybe just the beginning of a glimmer of hope. I don’t know if I’m making sense but I think that’s why this song blew up the way it did.
I was the guy this song is talking about, sitting in the back of class and drooling over the cheerleader in High-School. I have grown up, and I am not that guy anymore. This song is still relatable, I am glad you guys can put yourself in other peoples places. I learned to find beauty in different places and other ways. Now, I am engaged to the perfect person for me.
Again I am amazed that Ryan hits this so hard for being depressive and hopeless when he loves Alice in Chains. Alice in Chains could easily have written this song
Think the difference is Alice in Chains' Dirt era is heavy and catchy and easy to groove to, so you can kind of ignore the lyrics and just jam out. Radiohead songs are much more obvious in their depressiveness in terms of their music. Notice that Ryan didn't really vibe with Jar of Flies era Alice in Chains because it's much more obvious in its depressiveness, similar to Radiohead
What you’re talking about is more lyrical content. Not only is that present in Radiohead’s lyrics but also in the melody. And in the somber tone in which Thom sings. I don’t relate to this song at all, yet it’s one I can constantly play. There’s a certain comfort factor in it that I can’t put my finger on, plus it just sounds good in general
@@1972mrkleen Channeling is witchcraft. I prefer to believe it's his pure talent. He just happened to sound like Roy but you also may be right. Hmmmmmm

Remember that people feeling hopeless isn't just someone being negative. It's usually tied to mental health, that we really ignore and stigmatize still to this day.
Guys I love your openness and I love your honesty - it's so refreshing and tbh, in this day and age, its so inspiring. Love what you do. Watching you rock out to Opeth and Kendrick Lamar (two of my favourite artists) makes me feel better. Please be encouraged and loved, you are, both, Super Awesome!
I know you guys aren't probably the first to do reaction vlogs for music, but I've been following you guys since 2019 I think and it's been a wild ride, watching you guys go from cold open style with new genres to having solid critiques on shit within their respective contexts and genres, idfk i'm rambling but i love these vids, you guys rock!
Right, wanted to add that you guys have also inspired me to rekindle my audiophile tendencies and I've been discovering new music and revisiting stuff that I haven't listened to earnestly in a while. Thanks guys!
I love this song so much that I had to buy the single, back in the day. It's the only Radiohead cd that I own, since I don't know if they have any more Metal sounding songs in the catalogue, which is why I like the song so much.
The open big sound of the guitar before the big power chord is meant to signify the sound of cocking a self-loading rifle before pulling the trigger the big power chord signifies the firing.
And now for something completely different, you should react to the cover of this song by Post Modern Jukebox with Haley Reinhart doing the vocals. She is absolutely amazing on the track...
One of the best things about Radiohead is the fact they didn’t give a dhit what anyone thought about them. True art. Not trying to appease or fitting in
It’s crazy to me how closed off Ryan is to such a potent and vital emotion that makes us human. Not just that, but I’m surprised he doesn’t see/appreciate the acid jazz approach the Radiohead musicians take
@@apoloflores3871 you can already tell he made up his mind about the song and the band, before even listening to it, when he heard the description of the song
@@apoloflores3871actually it was a different Radiohead song but I thought it carried over here a bit too. I felt like he had a bit of a bias against this band because of the subject matter in the lyrics
You asked how many people this spoke to so here is my answer: I think this song speaks to a moment/feeling that occurs in nearly everyone's life at one point or another. It's practically part of the human experience to feel like less than enough for someone else at least once.
The song appeals to us because we can relate to it when we were teenagers falling in love and you're all awkward and don't know how to approach the girl you've fallen for.
I recommend Weird Fishes or Reckoner next. I think you guys would really enjoy those two songs. They’re more beautiful and cool than depressing or sad. Some of my favourites
I really appreciate George's take on this song's theme, how it gets at the vulnerability and sensitivity that everyone feels, essentially. There's a sort of comfort-through-misery feel that I've always gotten from this one that I love. Thanks to the both of you for making this video having already heard the song before; it's refreshing to hear your opinions on it. If I may make a request, I would really like to see what you two think about the band Rishloo. In particular, either "Freaks and Animals" or "Just a Ride" would be great. They're in a similar vein to Tool, just heavier in the progressive sense at times. At the very least, your coverage of the band would give them more exposure which I feel would be incredible. Anyway, thanks for the great content as always, keep it up.
One of the best renditions of this in recent years was on tv series Lucifer by the titled char(played by Tom Ellis) while playing piano. An amazing scene!
Dig this band and this song is what pulled me into the band. Following their music since the beginning. Wife loves them too. Nice reaction/review vid. Peace!
Would love to see you're take on Radiohead - Weird Fishes, particularly the from the basement version. Really great musicianship that takes you on a journey.
Hey guys, you should react to "Hey man nice shot" by filter. It's got that nice 90's rock sound, I guess they are post grunge or something, and you will love the lyrics and story behind them. Thank me later!
The lyrics are self explanatory, we all have felt rejection and that understanding that the one you love wants nothing to do with you. Though I would say that the real explanation has far more to do with social rejection and social maladaptation than just being rejected by a girl.
Daydreaming from Radiohead would be such a wild next step. You hear this and their "roots" and then you have Daydreaming where they just take you into this world out of touch and thought. Wild journey that they have been on.
Fake Plastic Trees NEEDS to be your next Radiohead reaction!!! It's so accessible and brilliant ... and really the next step into even better songwriting for the band.
This song was my anthem in college (2002). There was a girl i really liked, and she liked me. But she had a BF that had $$$, and she couldn't give that up. Funny thing is, 2 years later he broke up with her, and i had moved on. I'm kinda glad it didn't work out, she was a miserable person sometimes. I think she's married with kids now, haven't spoken to her since 2006. I hope she's happy now. Me? I'm still single. I had a few really bad relationships in 2008-2009, and have been single ever since. And I'm fine with it. I'm free and get to do whatever I want whenever, without having to ask or include some chick. I know that sounds like cope, but it's truly how I feel. If that right woman comes along, I'll know it. Until then, feels good being free. Love what you guys do, keep on keepin' on brother!
Two of the best covers of this song are by Hailey from Post Modern Jukebox and that singer on Americas Got Talent, Brian something from years ago. Insanely good.
@@Bandanko Because the covers personally have better climax points. The drums dont kick in right off the bat like they do on the original. It builds and is less “rock anthem”
I do love this song, thanks for doing it justice. If you’re ever interested in a version that’s extremely pared-down and way out of your zone, check out Daniela Andrade’s “Creep”.
If you guys want an introduction to some of Radioheads more experimental music, "Everything In Its Right Place" is fantastic. It's different, but still able to be appreciated if you arent expecting it. Some of the other stuff can be a little tough on first listen
1993.....man..... going through a divorce with a very sick newborn in NICU, ex's parents flew in from across the country bringing their funeral clothes... ex first thought was they should meet his new girlfriend before going to the hospital..... this song comes out and almost kills me .... but I love it. 91-94 was a bad time for me but the music was so good. This and especially 'She Talks to Angels' were big 'crying in the car on the long drive home from the hospital' times for me.

I was painfully shy as a kid. It took hitting 19/20, growing my hair long and working in pubs to bring me out of myself. Throw yourself in at the deep end and aim for confidence. I hope it works for you too.
Creep and Pablo Honey are pretty iconic, so glad you decided to do!!! To me, the epitome of Gen X teenage angst... as well Nirvana. Also, how am I just getting a notice for this when some comments here are 9 mos old?
As a female I always looked at myself as a second verse with that perfect body part. I feel like it's different layers to the song. Still on my playlist

@@Music-tg5is right? Come on we have all felt like a "creep" in some aspect or another whether thats in our "love lives" or at our jobs (imposter syndrome) or just not feeling like we fit in anywhere
Funny to hear this 30 years later. I loved Radiohead so much back then, but for the music more than their mostly esoteric lyrics. (The Bends is my all time favorite record of anyone)Listening to this now through your ears and my now 30 year older ears… it sounds devastatingly depressing. Back then it felt sort of victorious somehow as the run run Ruuuun part escalated. I’ve never been one to dwell much on lyrics unless they outwardly spoke to my own experience. Also FYI, My Iron Lung is about them having to sing Creep all the time because it was a hit even though they hated it.
Thom didn't play this song live for a long time. He stated that he didn't feel that way any longer so he didn't want to sing it. The funny thing was - after they became a huge band, the woman that he wrote this about was standing up front at a show, not knowing she was who he wrote this about.

I don’t relate to this song at all, yet it’s one I can constantly play. There’s a certain comfort factor in it that I can’t put my finger on, plus it just sounds good in general
This all pure 90s feelings fr. It's just mellow I stead of super punk or grunge and the extreme sorrow they felt for us all
It’s a perfect song, everyone has at one point felt like you didn’t belong at some point.
This song is about when the singer, Thom Yorke met Queen Elizabeth..that's why this song was played on the bagpipes at her funeral.
Love what you guys are doing!
Love how versatile you guys are. Awesome vids!
The vulnerability draws you into this song & vocals are perfect. Towards the end he channels Roy Orbison
He doesn't need to channel anyone. His own experience took over and took care of that.
@@JaquelineGoodspeed his vocals at one point, to me sounded very similar to Roy's style. That was my point.
Sorry you're offended for some reason 🙄
@@1972mrkleen
Channeling is witchcraft. I prefer to believe it's his pure talent. He just happened to sound like Roy but you also may be right. Hmmmmmm
@@JaquelineGoodspeed no doubt he's talented.. Every singer/musician is influenced by those they respect or admire, knowingly or unknowingly. Maybe I should've used the word influence... Hmmmmm😉
Heavy, soft, heavy sound of the 90’s. Introduced by bands like Nirvana and the Pixies.
Would love to see a Pixies reaction!
Oasis
One of my 8th grade teachers played the music video for this song in class for us to critique. I was hooked on Radiohead ever since.
I love this song so much that I had to buy the single, back in the day. It's the only Radiohead cd that I own, since I don't know if they have any more Metal sounding songs in the catalogue, which is why I like the song so much.
I love Patrice O'Neals breakdown of this song 😂
Haven’t heard it but how can I not now?
The open big sound of the guitar before the big power chord is meant to signify the sound of cocking a self-loading rifle before pulling the trigger the big power chord signifies the firing.
"I want you to notice when I'm not around..." That is SO good.
This song is f*ing badass !
Quiet verse/loud chorus was the formula for a majority of big 90's alternative songs.
When the recordet this they where very young, teenagers, unsecure where they stand in life. That's how I see it. I love it !
Dang, this is a throwback to my teenage years when this album came out 🥺 That song resonated with a whole generation
Not just that, but I’m surprised he doesn’t see/appreciate the acid jazz approach the Radiohead musicians take
I don’t think he’s very emotionally intelligent tbh
@@apoloflores3871 you can already tell he made up his mind about the song and the band, before even listening to it, when he heard the description of the song
@@apoloflores3871actually it was a different Radiohead song but I thought it carried over here a bit too. I felt like he had a bit of a bias against this band because of the subject matter in the lyrics
We all had at least one girl that was unreachable and had us on our feelings feeling unworthy. And this song gets that core memory out for a second 😅
One of my favorite songs ever. The lyrics are so honest.
This was also during the "Grunge" days so this kinda fit the mood during those times.....
What you might not realize is women also relate to this song. It's basically about a person that you love and desire yet they don't see you at all.
One of the best renditions of this in recent years was on tv series Lucifer by the titled char(played by Tom Ellis) while playing piano. An amazing scene!
He did a fantastic version of this song!! Loved it.
For this new generation, it's perfect.
The singer did a trip hop song with the group UNKLE if you ever get back to that genre, called Rabbit In Your Headlights
Daydreaming from Radiohead would be such a wild next step. You hear this and their "roots" and then you have Daydreaming where they just take you into this world out of touch and thought. Wild journey that they have been on.
Now y’all need to watch the MTV live performance! That will always be my favorite Radiohead live performance. 🎤 🎶
Insanely good.
but why would you listen to a cover when the orignal exists?
Patrice O'Neal talking about this song is one of the funniest clips of all time
it's cathartic. that's a big reason why i love music. there's a song for every emotion.
I live in England
They hit music different for all their faults and victories they’ve got music locked down .
Best bands of all time go look all English,FACT
Yeah man George called it. This shit just speaks to my soul lol. I grew up bathed in negativity and this shit just hits to the core. I agree with Ryan that it sucks but everyone can relate to this at some point in there life.
I was painfully shy as a kid. It took hitting 19/20, growing my hair long and working in pubs to bring me out of myself. Throw yourself in at the deep end and aim for confidence. I hope it works for you too.
Prince performed this tune at coachella in 2008. That's when the song entered the immortality realm
Creep and Pablo Honey are pretty iconic, so glad you decided to do!!! To me, the epitome of Gen X teenage angst... as well Nirvana.
Also, how am I just getting a notice for this when some comments here are 9 mos old?
It must have said ‘9 minutes ago’ not ‘months’ because this video was uploaded 1 hour ago, and your comment says ‘1 hr ago’ too.
@@NoUA-camName1 I swear the comment directly underneath mine (as well as some others) says "9 months ago!" It's so weird!
As a female I always looked at myself as a second verse with that perfect body part. I feel like it's different layers to the song. Still on my playlist
Anyone who hasnt ever felt like this song described them at SOME POINT in their lives is LUCKY 😮💨😮💨 and here I thought we all went through life feeling like creeps and weirdos at some point even for a minute haha
Or, putting on a bravado front.
I’ve been waiting on this one for a while
If anyone has time haley reinhart covered this song the Vintage version. Really awesome. Has over 100 million views. Heard alot of covers but that one was awesome
You mean she absolutely ruined a beautiful song with her terrible hipster indie cursive singing
