I would like to thank you. I sold my kubota m7060 and bought a t494 with a cab a couple of months ago. your channel and a couple others helped me decide on the t494. I have the r14 tires and they are awesome. I had ag tires on the kubota and I had to have chains to do anything in the snow. The t494 with a cab pushes snow better than the m7060. We have had a couple of storms with a foot of wet heavy snow here in northern Vermont and it was no problem. The heater in these tractors will cook you. When I first had it on, I wasn't paying attention I got so hot and sweaty and feeling queasy like being in a sauna too long. I have always had gear driven tractor, and this is my first hydro. I think it works so much better for plowing it makes it a lot faster where you have a lot of back and forth. I enjoy your channel and wish you and your family a happy new year.
These are the way to go for most landscapers and homeowners here in Scandinavia, precisely because you can still use the bucket. You won't have any issues even in heavy snowfalls/storms so long as you can remember to head out early & often, better to go out twice and spend a fraction of the time than if you waited until the next day, overloading the equipment and spending hours struggling through it. There's also big snow buckets to get, or you can have one made, out of thinner steel, they aren't rated for working in soil, but being lightweight you can scoop up a lot of snow with every operation, saving you lots of time! Quick recommendations, this winter, start near your house, and work your way out, that way you aren't blowing snow into areas you already cleared, after all you aren't plowing here :) For removing snow in areas where the snow is gonna hit something regardless where you swing the nozzle, turn PTO off and use the blower to scrape the snow out to an area where you can blow it away, sometimes you gotta take small scoops to avoid wheelspin. For areas the blower can't reach, like near garage doors & walls, porches, etc. Tilt the frontloader bucket and get as close as you dare (headlights are great here, they cast a shadow that you can use for guiding you close) lower it, reverse. Voila you're scraping the snow backwards.
Well that is a cool rig for sure Jack! I think you might be missing the true experience of winter snow blowing. Lol. Cheers and have a good weekend Mike.
That looked like fun! Someday we will have a tractor! We have much to do on our new homestead (bought Nov 10th 2023). We are very excited to get thing started, but the weather is affecting all that at the moment. We are locate in South Mid KY (Franklin, KY). I will be new to raising chickens, but my husband had them in MN when he was a kid! First year little plans. Horses come first with a barn!
When I did commercial lots with my inverted I used it a lot like a scraper to did it in one pile then I blew it just make sure you’re pto is turned on before you try to blow snow
My first snowblower was destroyed by a random piece of oak firewood left by someone. I had just got it and didn't know the previous owner had put the strongest grade bolt in the drive shaft...so the gear box, spline etc. went kaboom. Now I check every time.
Seems like you did the snow blowing backwards with the way you were tossing the snow and it just landing back on the driveway when you were near the house. Might be better to start by the house but it's your tractor and you can do it however you want to. Thanks for the video.
Howdy Jack… So that works out pretty good… I will say that rock took me by surprise.. I never even gave that a thought. Just remember door glass is about 800$ .. hahahahaha Don’t be like Al. So I am pretty impressed with it.. I am sure you will find all the little tricks on the best way… I will say that storm was fun.. I was able to blow it almost 30 feet… 😁 And like you this is our first year with a metal roof.. We do have the bars over our house door and the side door to the garage. So it’s a learning process this year.. I will tell you the dog hates the snow sliding off the roof.. hahahahah Thanks for sharing your new toy with us.. Oh and yup.. Must have a Cab… hahahahaha I also crank the tunes hahaha Go 603
Looking sweet on snow removal. Poor Jay & Jen in Minnesota bought and old used one for their old tractor - only worth scrap price cause it doesn't work
C'mon man we need to hear and see more of that pull behind snowblower. Nobody is putting out info in a non commercial application on that type of snowblower. Do it and you'll be a leader on blowers in the You Tube universe. Going where no you tubers have gone before... something like that 😜😜
HOW DOES THE PULL TYPE SNOWBLOWER WORK IN WET, HEAVY SNOW? I’M LOOKING AT GETTING ONE FOR MY DRIVEWAY I AM CURIOUS IF CLOGGING IS AN ISSUE WITH HEAVY SNOW. I enjoy your videos keep up the good work.
I wasn’t able to use it a ton this winter (not a ton of snow) but I didn’t notice it clogging any more or less than the front mount we had on the Kubota.
But you admitted you had to set the shoes 3 inches high to avoid the soft ground and thats my point, you are driving over a foot of snow leaving the most impacted snow once you drive over it, rather that leaving 3 inches of unimpacted on a reverse blower ,it has been may experience to never drive over snow to avoid ice build up because my front loader with down pressure wont get under the ice even with a paved driveway. Even with a floating blade plow you still have stones and sod piles but at least it is not scattered and you can shovel it back in the spring
@ A curved cutting edge on a blower is different than a bucket cutting edge. There’s a reason every residential snow removal service in Canada uses these things (and I just sold 2 to a service with 160 driveways in Albany, NY). If customers weren’t happy with the results, the industry wouldn’t be shifting this way. You’re welcome to keep doubting it, but these are the future. Plenty of other comments on this video to back it up.
Hey Jack, I had a great time working with you this week, thanks for the laughs and the humbling water bottle to the noggin! Good Luck!

@@billnolin9423 ag tires are better than r4 in snow. R4 is the worst tire for snow.

You may wanna look into installing a metallic snow guard for the metal roof, they help a lot, thanks for the video.

Wow that works great Jack
It seems that real winter has arrived!
Living the high life man, thing looks sweet 💪💪
Congrats on the bigger tractor. Big upgrade from that bx

I was wondering about projectiles towards the glass, gonna have to be careful. Thanks for the video

No snow here yet. Thankfully

Funny how sometimes we men are in the cozy cab while the wife is outside shoveling snow like a champ.
Who said chivalry was dead? Just kidding, I owe her big time!

Inverted blowers are the best
So when it snows, its a storm ?? What about wind ?
Wouldn't a V-Blade on the front that left a 3 foot wide pile in the middle work great with that blower.
Need to use your bucket to back the snow from the doors then blow it away
Of course I realized this after the video as I was watching myself work!
When you drive over the snow you pack it into ice that will turn wet and slippery when warm weather returns is what i see wrong with this blower type
The snowblower is 1000lbs with a metal cutting edge. It pulls up anything you pack down easily.
You got rid of the bx?
Back in the spring! We did a few videos talking about it.
@@TheMindfulHomestead I must have missed them. I'll have to watch.
Will be interesting to see you drive over 2 feet or a 4 foor snow bank to blow it tho. I'd be considered about that part.
That’s what the bucket is for!
