  • Do you remember when Americans loved big cars, just like their super-sized fast food?
From the 1960s to the early 1980s, giant cars ruled the roads. Covered in chrome and vinyl, with whitewall tires and powerful engines, these "land yachts" were the biggest of them all.
We found 17 of these huge cars, each over 214 inches (5.4 meters) long. Thats too big and that length needed heavy weight as well
Ready to take a look at these massive machines?
We have got a list of 17 big and heavy american cars that are iconic till today

I have a 2003 Bonneville, a full size in 2003 would have been a mid size back then. It's an ssei and has the usual pulley swap. It's quick

"Brogue-um"? Try "Brome"! And Dodge pronounced it "pol-AIR-a" not "pol-ARE-a".

Your so-called '59 Chrysler wagons are FORDS ! Spme of these cats are (absolutely not* among the largest, e.g. 1975 Dodge Charger and '80 Plymouth Gran Fury. Careful research please!

Okay, well, I guess that gas milage is just not important with this group of cars. Still... 14 hiway- 6 city is my guess.

Absolutely correct. These giants needed some good gas to move 😀

@@AMERICAN-AUTOS you got me, I commented but didn't give a thumbs up or subbed. I guess it's because I was a little butt hurt. I drove a 1977 Thunderbird that was inherited while I was in high school. My grandmother bought it, my uncle got a few tickets in it, and then I got a hold of it. Cookies in the shopping mall parking lot whenever it snowed.
The thunderchicken had a 351 windsor. Two and a half tons, 9 miles to the gallon, and a raging 180 horsepower on it's best day. But you highlight the 1976 T-bird?
      Fine.
      New sub. Thumbs up.

Your video left out many top, large luxury cars and included smaller, mid-sized and down-sized cars. Not very well researched video.
