Here is my take on many late 80s early 90s and late 90s to present day police vehicles I've owned/driven: 1988 Dodge Diplomat (Civilian model but bare bones): Lots of mechanical issues, far from the best car, owned it about a year and a half. Excellent in the "police car looks" however. 1990 Chevy Caprice 9c1: One of the best used cars I ever owned. Mechanical issues, but nothing major over 4.5 years of ownership. Wish I still had it! 1991 Ford Crown Victoria: Ex-Fire dept. car. Not too bad, smooth runner, some issues mechanically, didn't own for long, traded it in along with above mentioned Caprice for a new Dodge Ram. (Regret that decision to this day!) 1994 Chevy Caprice: Several mechanical issues including the transmission, owned for 4 years. Fast as F**k with that LT1Corvette engine! And into this century: 2000 Ford Crown Victoria: Not a bad runner, not my primary daily driver though. Had it for about 8 years, mechanical issues from time to time, but nothing really major. Had 156,000 miles when I got, left it off with around 171,000 when I donated it to charity. 2010 Ford Crown Victoria: My primary daily driver. Had it 10 years as of today, 7-4-24. 75,000 miles on it when bought, 189,000 currently. Ranks as best used car I have ever owned, right ahead of the 1990 Caprice. Needed new rear end put on it about 9 years ago, but I still consider this car the best I've owned to date. I will only get rid of this car if the engine or trans. goes out, period.

The problem with not knowing anything about cars and using AI to create a video results in inaccurate videos like this. It was amusing to see a Boss 429 representing a 428. During the 70s in my part of the country, Dodge/Plymouth B-bodies were common with Ford LTDs and Gran Torinos seemingly used more by small towns and sheriffs departments. I’d say in the 70s, the B-bodies likely were the embodiment of the best police cars of the 70s. The 79 Malibu’s V-6 wasn’t a great engine option, and the 350s were not LT1s. I only remember one department that bought Malibus, probably with 305s and they were not notable for anything - replaced with 80s Ford LTD Police Interceptors.

I'll never forget when I was a police officer with LAPD Los Angeles Police Department, in 1994 we started receiving our newest police cars! The Department had chosen the new generation Chevrolet Caprice with the LT1 V8 260hp detuned Corvette engine with 4 wheel disc breaks and heavy duty everything, multi port fuel injection and factory true dual exhaust! This police car was leaps snd bounds above the Ford Crown Victoria they were replacing, which had the 4.6L V8 only making 210 hp, so the 1994 9C1 LT1 police package Caprice was SOOOO MUCH BETTER! Went much faster, stopped much faster, cornered much faster! That was a great police car and so comfortable, Cloth power bucket seats, power locks, power windows, am/fm stereo, air conditioning! It was a pleasure to drive these police cars!

No offense but you need to redo this video, you refer to the 94’ crown Vic as a 44’ and when showing the impala SS interior, you show some interior of a 2010’s era Chevy

This artificial intelligence mess needs to go! Nobody wants to do the research. They put this crap out and not even check or proof read/watch their work.

I thought the 1990 Chevy Caprice reached only 140 to 160km/h, not 220 km/h as if the 1990 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor does.

In Boston, Massachusetts in the early to mid seventies, the Boston police had an unmarked Impala dubbed "The 454 Car". It was made to chase down a local, infamous, car thief. It wasn’t successful at that but I always wondered what became of it. The Boston Globe newspaper did a full page story about it.

@@AMERICAN-AUTOS I will stay tuned. I saw the car as a kid. I believe it was brown in color with dual exhaust. Engine-wise it was hot rodded. Nobody but me seems to remember it and any Google searches I do about it turn up nothing.

Weak video. You clearly don't no anything about yesteryear. .....the 440 transmission was an automatic 737 torqueflite. Do yoyr research before wasting people's time.

Your comment literally wasted our time. 😇 And this is not a place for your so called research centre. So, pick your tail in between your legs and bark somewhere else. You know a couple of things about a model and you call yourself an expert. There’re plenty of options in a single hood. Even the tank sizes were not the same for Alabama & Wisconsin. So, for a 10 min video where we can allocate a minute barely for a model, don’t expect to present a documentary for that particular vehicle…

Wrong Chrysler Dodge and Plymouth used the 727 torque flite transmission on the big block cars and the 906 torque flite transmission on the small block cars and it's the same transmission basically but has a smaller bell housing on it as casted for the 273 318 340 & 360 small blocks as well for the leaning tower of power 225 slant 6 . The only other options for transmissions for both of these engines was the 4 spd New process from Chrysler that are a cast iron case and are very durable especially the ones that were used on the Hemi cars that had heavy duty input shafts and output shafts plus the gears were made stronger with better synchros and a lot of the drag racers would cut 1 tooth off skipping the next & so on that makes power shifting much easier for every gear .
