Because of his pitching knowledge and skills, Ohtani leverages them to improve his home run hitting. He has a special understanding that most batters do not possess. Furthermore, because of his batting knowledge and skills, he leverages them to improve his pitching ability. Hence, he has a special understanding that most pitchers do not possess. He has the best of both worlds! That is why he is so good at both pitching and batting. The synergism is awesome. The Dodgers owner and team manager desire to destroy that synergism. Synergism means the combined effect of two or more things (i.e., pitching, batting, base running, and fielding) is greater than the sum of the individual skills. To add to his greatness, he is also a superior base stealer and fields well while pitching. No wonder he is the best in a century since Babe Ruth. Shohei Ohtani could become the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) if the Dodgers owner and team manager do not curtail him from playing as a two-way player.

Ohtani's Angels salary is 30m in 2023 but he earned about 65m from endorsement alone. And his endorsement this season has risen to 95m, next season Ohtani would definitely has far more endorsement $ because of his crazy popularity has created 25% and beyond of profits for companies contracted with him. It's not only earnings from sales alone, the company values and bonds prices rise immediately after signing with Ohtani and often times go up at least 5~10% right after news of signing Ohtani! Ohtani must be the best MLB player of all time. I don't watch MLB but often his highlights are on UA-cam, where I spend some time researching. In America, we think our boys are the best athletes of all time, Ohtani is changing that (at least for baseball). Baseball has a disadvantage, our best athletes don't play baseball, they play football or basketball. So baseball is left with those that couldn't make the high school football or basketball teams. I haven't watched MLB since they exclusively broadcast on cable TV (which everybody is now dropping). I got mad because the owners double-dipped. That means they still make you watch all those commercials even though you have to pay to watch. I started the trend 20 years ago. That means I don't watch NBA either. I live in Arizona and watch the Cardinals until they drop 2 games below 500. Typically, I'm done with that league by the 3rd game of the season. The problem with living here is it is a "12-month state." That means, you don't have to be a couch potato all winter long, we can go outside and do stuff.

Ohtani has been a SuperHero since Mookie got hurt. I don't know how in the world he is doing what he's doing. Considering pitching is so much better than 20=30 years ago with velocity and movement. So lefties, righties, and he keeps Ohtanying the ball, and the stupid umps giving pitches constantly 2-3 inches low or outside with 2 strikes make hitting very very hard indeed.
At some point, maybe not this season, but at some point we will see this man hit 4 dingers in a game. Just like Shawn Green. He would set the baseball world on it's ear if he hit 5, but that won't happen

If Shohei stays healthy he should pull away from the field by August/early September. No need to compare to Judge or anyone else offensively as Judge can take the AL MVP if he stays healthy. In the NL, Shohei projects to 45-50HR, 25-30 steals, OPS+ 190-200, 120 RBI bWAR around 9-10 etc etc. If he were pitching there would be no discussion. Since he’s not pitching the only meaningful conversation is will he be unanimous MVP again.
