If you don't use a switcher, this is a solid choice for an early stage, pre drive reverb & delay.Sometimes you want analog warmth, and sometimes digital clarity is preferable; you just have to remember that all the Boss pedals are buffered, so you have to watch the Germanium based fuzzes and drives.
Thanks for this. I’m putting together a small gigging board with the RE-2 in place of the RE-202 that’s on my home board, and I really want to coax the “warp” function out of it - to achieve this with an expression pedal, do I set it up to only sweep the intensity, or is there anything else going on with that? Why Boss chose to include the goofy “twist” function rather than the IMHO much more musical “warp” is beyond me!
Touching the pedal automatically resets the time to the setting stored on the exp. Is it possible to set up the pedal without it saving the time position
Nice video! Do you have any idea is it possible to choose the parameter you are controlling with the expression pedal on re-2? Ive seen couple of videos where people tell that you can choose any of them. But no idea how to do it… IMO this works like this: you set the first setting(s) on the low expression pedal position then you just set the second setting(s) to the highest point of the exp pedal. Help
I haven’t tried it to compare but it does have more controls and capabilities. It also has midi which is very handy in the studio or if syncing with synths and drum machines. I say if its in your budget and you have the pedalboard space then it is.
Nice--any idea if this should work with any old expression pedal? I have an old Dunlop Crybaby from the year 2000 or so. Just trying to figure out if I'll need to buy a new expression pedal. Nice video!
That's a good question. Does your Crybaby have a tuner out jack? If so you might be able to connect using a TRS cable from tuner out to expression in. I don't know how well it will work, if it will at all. The boss EV-5 is 80 bucks and the moog ep3 i used was like 60. The only expression pedal I know that WON'T work is the Line 6 ones.
Subliminal messages to Ozzy got me 😂 Is it hard to use Tap tempo while playing? You need to hold the pedal first and then tap, right? And it’s either exp pedal or footswitch for tap tempo isn’t it?
Honestly I would only use the tap tempo for recording OR if I had a loop switcher because of the clunky way of engaging it. I think you’re correct in it’s tap or expression and not both. Alternatively you can use an external switch for the twist function which most don’t care for lol.
Really enjoyed your demo man. I'm exploring expression petals and I think they really suit echo/delay. Thanks heaps!
Thanks for the demo!
No problem!

Hi, great video and really help me understand this feature of a pedal, thank you
btw, can someone say what chords is in the loop. Love it so much!

Yes I would set the expression for intensity.
I do this with my me80 and yeah more please.

That does NOT work. I’ve tried following the steps 10 times and it does not work.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I explain how to do that in this video at 3 minute mark
Thank you for this! Do you think the upgrade for the RE.202 is worth it?

@@RPMusicStudios Thanks for the response--60 bucks isn't bad. Either way I'm seriously thinking about this space echo...

@@RPMusicStudios Thanks
@@qbasowa now I most go bark at the moon 🌝
@@RPMusicStudios didn’t realize that Ozzy does use re-2 too 🤣
