I’m new to mopar with a 2019 Charger Scat Pack, and I currently own a Whippled 2017 Mustang GT Coyote. The sky is the limit with these Coyotes but mopar feels a lack of support. I just subscribed to your channel as I am on the lookout for options on the 392. Within 2020 I’ll be upgrading headers back, intake manifold, and throttle body then custom tuning. Keep up this video content cuz I’m hungry for info on these hemis!

Just set the car up for E85. Been proven on Engine Masters, dyno run with blower and E85 made the same power as gas and inner cooler. Same engine, same day, just swapped in and out the fuel and inner cooler. Ditch all the piping, heat exchanger and convert to E85.
I couldn't find that episode... I only found a intercooler vs methanol injection episode. Methanol injection is a crutch, and you'll need it to be working on all WOT pulls. With ethanol you'll still want to run an intercooler. Methanol as fuel is fine with no intercooler depending on the setup, but that's race car stuff.

You could probably get away with a blow through setup without a intercooler contact torqstorm they have plenty of blow through systems.

The trick is once you have to add the intercooler, upgrade fuel pump, PCM swap etc. It starts getting closer to the price of other superchargers.
Not even i have 4500 in mine but it definitely adds up if you can't do everything yourself.

I wish someone that knows what they are doing (I don't) would pick up one of the Speedmaster79 centrifugal superchargers and try it. It's only the head unit they sell so you would have to know what your doing to make it all go together. It is a pretty serious unit with a 1150 cfm flow rating.
But for $597.20 it's a steal, if it works.

You're showing 6-7 psi with the pulley they give you? Really tough to tell with the audio does it have a really nice whine to it? Also, I'm sure intercooler helps but is it really NEEDED.
A centrifugal supercharger like a torqstorm or procharger does not whine like a positive displacement supercharger like whipple and so forth. I was getting 8psi easy with the original pulley im seeing around 11psi currently on the 3.1 pulley now

@@FrostbiteRam Sweet! Im not sure how critical a SC cam grind is with a centrifugal. I know you don't want a lot of overlap so your not bleeding cylinder pressure under boost but maybe that really applies to screw type blowers. Loved watching this project. Just got long tubes and high flow cats for my R/T. Was thinking cam and intake but im gearing towards this first. Love your channel

The biggest plus with the torqstorm is they come 8rib pulley and belt standard. The procharger does not it only 6rib and is pron to belt slip badly however you can upgrade the procharger to 8rib but lots more money.
torqstorm is also getting ready to drop 91mm and 94 mm units

The cost is more than most people think. This kit doesn't include a tune, fuel injectors, an intercooler and the associated plumbing that goes with it, and colder plugs among other things aren't included. Using water/methanol to take the place of an intercooler is NOT a good idea. The intake is designed to move air, not fuel as is the case with methanol. Equal distribution of the methanol to each cylinder can be and often is a problem. The tune is about $600 whether you use a canned tune or have it dynotuned. The intercooler is about another $300. Injectors add another $650. Miscellaneous items to complete the installation is at least another $400. The kit is going to cost about $5,000 by the time everything is done. The other thing that you need is to do your own engineering to get everything to fit. Is the Torqstorm less expensive than a kit from Procharger? Yes, it is. However, you're only saving about $1,000-1,500 by the time everything is included. Since you have to get everything to fit which may include cutting and moving things around, the installation takes at least twice as long. Is the Torqstorm kit worth it? If you have the time to do the work and get a sense of pride making everything work, the answer is yes. If you lack the patience and the time to do the work, the answer is no.

@@gearheadmoff1232 - There are a couple of advantages when using a carb. First you get some cooling from the gasoline since it goes through the intake. If you want to supplement the cooling with water/methanol, an intake designed for a carburetor is less likely to have issues with distribution to each cylinder. The intake is designed to move both air and liquid. I would do a little more research. But it sounds like it could work. Steve Dulcich used a Torqstorm supercharger to make 383 power from a slant 6 on a Motor Trend show called Engine Masters.
you still have to do all that for the procharger excpet intercooler so all said in done 5k on this or 12k on procharger
and for most people that just want a mild motor this is the way to go their singl kit is good to 700hp and they are getting ready to release 91 and 94mm units

Torque storm actually comes from the old s***** powerdynes in a way what happened was the people on powerdyne realized that they're superchargers sucked The good thing about powerdynes was you didn't have to run oil lines cuz it was actually belt driven but you couldn't spin them up very fast usually the max was $36,000 RPMs to compare one of my old cars with the vortec V3 I believe the max red line was $52,000 RPMs. Basically it would work okay on a stock old Fox body mustang but anything more powerful and they just ran out of air and they had a lot of problems chewing up belts I actually had one and I upgraded everything on it I'm talking the impeller the belt the bearings I had the whole thing machined with cooling vents and everything I had an upgraded gear drive for it and I still was only staying up to 40,000 RPMs and it would just chew itself up every month. They didn't make much power there's actually a video of an old '93 Ford lightning with a powerdyne on it and it made five horsepower but anyways basically they went to this awesome machine shop and told them to make a newer oiled but without oil line supercharger, basically think vortec V3 almost any pro charger besides the p600, and the guys did it and everything was good but in powerdyne style they f***** them over and didn't want to pay and they want to make it cheaper and everything So basically the machine shop ended up just making them themselves and they're really nice They have a lot of good features but the reason the kits so cheap is because there's no tuning there's no intercooler there's no whatever like ProCharger and vortec but as far as I can tell the reliability and durability does seem to be there and they do have some features that a lot of the other ones don't just make sure that you know that you're going to have some cost on top of the kit even if you're running an old school carbed car you got to get a blow through carb you got to get a fuel pump that reads vacuum and raises the pressure ratio one to one with the boost you know you're still going to have to get a retard box. And if I remember right on their website it does say some of these things but you know just don't get too excited and order it without knowing what's going on. you know you still have to get it tuned and also I don't like how the intake sucks air in from the engine bay but you know it's not too bad I ran a vortech v3 like that on a custom kit and It still ran fine It may have cost me a little bit of horsepower cuz the charge was a little hotter cuz the air coming in was hotter but I ran a liquid after cooler and it still made good power and I was still able to run 10 lb of boost, but again on any forced induction you really want to run an intercooler. and you could probably you know buy a intercooler and some piping and make one but I've done that and it's not as easy as it sounds that's why that vortec custom kit that I made ran a water to air intercooler instead of air because it was such a pain getting the pipes to run through the front bumper and back. and on the blow off valve sound that doesn't have hardly anything to a supercharger it's what blow off valve you choose. I'm a little tired and kid I actually tried running one of those cheap $20 eBay blow off valves and you could barely hear it when you did it sounded like s*** and it didn't really control the air very good I even upgraded the diaphragm inside of it and it still suck dick and so I bought a vortec Mondo blow valve and boom worked perfectly awesome blow off the sound even hidden way deep in the engine bay So not sure what the point is but when you buy blowfowl get a good one Don't f*** around with cheap ones. But yeah great product as far as I can tell I haven't had one personally but I've known one person that has and they've enjoyed them oh and if you have a powerdyne kit and you want to swap over to a torque storm you can't they specifically changed the bolt pattern slightly so that they won't fit the old powerdyne kits. and if you have a paradigm kit throw in the garbage because they're freaking garbage I don't care what 928 motorsports says are all those eBay companies what they're upgrades they're s*** no matter how much money you put into them. I can't personally say anything for the raptor ones but it's the same thing it's a belt driven air-cooled supercharger and I just don't see that being very reliable or able to spin very fast and produce much power but with those I don't have personal experience but I would definitely recommend not getting anything that isn't gear-driven with oil. Oh and one more note on the torque term superchargers when I was looking at them they told me that you couldn't take the pulleys off when you ordered them they would put a specific pulley on and that was it and as far as I can tell they're only good for about up to 700 horsepower which is still plenty for most people but you know make sure you get the specifics on these things before you order cuz like with my vortec I could swap pulleys easy I never asked my friend if he tried to swap police on the power down I don't know if they have some kind of weird press on pulley shaft thing that's a pain to take off he can't just do my hand or not but that's what they were telling me was it was meant to put one pulley on and leave that pulley on for the rest of its life.
The pulley is easily replaceable they actually sent me multiple pulleys for mine. The stock pulley has me at about 7psi at 5800 rpms shifts. Before I lowered my shifts down it was hitting about 10psi at 6300rpm shifts. The smaller pulley they sent me should probably be around the 12psi range most likely but we shall see in the future.

You can't buy another supercharger kit in the 4k price range. Others will cost you over 6k for the same quality dont forget its a 8rib drive system not a crap 6rib like others.
How is this a deal? $3k for just the Charger, still need injectors, tune, fuel pump, FMIC and what not that will put you in the $6k+ range just like any OTS kit

No it's not just for the charger, but you do have to intelligently support and accommodated it. You may even need a better car, but that's not going to come in the kit either.

Not true what so ever..our plus kit is for swaps. We have vehicle specific hemi tuner kits

You get everything you need for the 2800 the only thing you may need to buy is an ATi pulley. We use torqstorm in a number of rigs and they are an amazing unit. Second to none for the money.

Just an FYI update, I did all the leg work on this for my 67 Chevelle and it is way I say way too much money for the return they need to get this cheapened up for the everyday driver I have a 454 and my 67 Chevelle and like I said this is way way too much money and everything is an add-on add-on add on and by the time you're done have it installed at the new fuel pressure add the new this add the new that it's just way not worth it sorry I thought this was a great video though I'll pass it's not set up for the everyday garage mechanic or day-to-day classic car enthusiast way too much money
I've done 2 of these builds now and both has been under the 4500ish price range. Absolutely cheaper than any other option on the market hands down only thing that could beat this on price would be building your own single turbo setup.
