I just came across your video the day before I visit my neurologist after my unexpected surgery to remove my tumor. I had no idea I had a tumor until my sight was affected. Your story gives me a sense of calm about my next steps. Thank you for sharing.
Hello Gabbi. Now I have detected a Pituitary tumor and I am close to go into surgery for this. Thank you for share your experience. Now I feel some little scary about it, however heard you give me peace and calm seeing that you recovery graddually and now your life come again like in a normal way. I am here located in México. Thank you for share your view and experience.
I had my first surgery for a 35mm pituitary tumour 24 years ago. I was told the surgeon removed it all and my hormones returned back to normal. I was very lucky. My last follow up was 12 months post operative. 22 years later while having my eyesight checked it was discovered that my peripheral vision was extremely impaired. An MRI showed that the tumour had regrown to over 7cm. I had surgery in May 2022 but the neurosurgeon wasn't able to get as much out as he had hoped. I had another surgery in May 2024. This time a different surgeon was able to clear much more tumour. I'm about to start a course of 30 fractionated radiation treatments over 6 weeks. Hopefully it will work to stop the growth of the tumour. Please have regular MRIs to monitor even though the doctors have told you you're cured. I wish I'd been told to monitor it. Good luck in your journey.
Hi friend, I'm so sorry that you have gone through all of this. I'm sure it's been such a tough journey. I am definitely still monitoring mine through bloodwork and will continue to! Sending you so much love and prayers for your journey
Here for you, friend! It's such a hard journey and all of your emotions and feelings are so valid! One step at a time, it's all going to be oaky. You're not alone!
Im going through this right now and my surgery is coming up fast so I got all the feels. I’ve been looking for some comfort can’t seem to find it. Thank you for sharing your journey it has helped put some ease.
I feel like I most likely have the tumor. I’m learning now it’s pretty common. I’m only 25 but I look completely different than what I’ve looked like even 4 years ago. It’s scary and confidence is non existent. Thank you for sharing your story
I remember so well the day before surgery when i was directed to a MRT Scan at the evening, they rolled me in a wheelchair and a woman too had a MRT scan and we both were driven to the room with the scan machine , we spoke only very little and i was rly in a tense state, a feeling weird to explain... + i could actually sleep for 2-3 hours, more likely about 2 hours + in the morning i washed myself intentendly with a cold shower to make myself as fit as possible before the intervention + i rly had to change my planned surgery date to this one i am describing right now - i was already waiting for my surgery for one night in the Hospital but in the morning they decided not to operate because one of my blood "values" was not as it should be and it was critical for this kind of Operation, later on it turned out to be a genetical thing that is super rare in General 1:350.000 or so but in a way that it is absolutely healthy, literally, it was just that rare (in medical terms that numbers are not so high at all ...but still - also my kind of cyst has a rarity of 1 in 500.000 😂😂 literally only about 20 people in my country who have the same kind - still a cyst in the area i got it is much more common 1-1000 or 10000 (i still have the cyst but its produced liquid is now drained out pretty much all of it i assume/pressume...) i live in austria - lower austria and the surgery was in the main Hospital in Vienna (AKH neurology Departement) i am 22 when i had it , in February is my birthday, now i am 23 ((((((((((((((:
(The 🚿 cold shower i also had that morning for my initially planned surgery date - but in that occasion it did not get warmer, i was already mmmjhh well..naked in that shower room and it only was at cold temperature = horror 😳xd on the top i had the impression it only got colder when the shower head was turned on after a short time, so i rly turned it off and on again, several times to get myself washed looll, shall i leave my shampoo and "shower gel" still quite noticable on my body?! well.... ah yes, it was also all the time in the feet washing mode, the water rushed out in quite a hurry, well a quite pressurised steam 😖😆🤪 and it seemed like there was no way to change it to a more humiliate mode😅..the handle also felt like it could only be turned in one direction where it was just stronger🎉...........yes well it cant get better right haha😅😊)
Hey Gabbi, my name is Dave and my wife, whose thirty six, was recently diagnosed with a prolactinoma over one centimeter. She is currently on Cabergoline and we are hoping and praying for a good outcome. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your journey and I'm so glad you're doing well.
Hi Dave! I am so thankful that you found my videos! My hope and prayer is that they can give you some peace and hope. It can be such an overwhelming journey. Here for you and praying for your wife!
thank you so much, friend! I'm so thankful for you! Thankfully, this has had no effect on my previous eating disorder! In fact, I've been so so thankful the whole time that it hasn't been present in this season because it would have made everything SO much more miserable. So thankful for freedom!
Just got the news that there is something on my pituitary gland, and I am at the very first starting point. (Don't know what the future tests will show, but this helps me prepare for surgery, if that is needed). So..I am looking forward to watching this video to see how everything went for you. (this video is a real gift & you are very easy to listen to, and really explain the things well from a patient's view). Thank you for taking the time to do this video, and share what you learned. Wishing you all the best & I really like your little hair growth nubbies.(where they shaved your head for the CT)..Those are the things, that if you see them as cute/interesting..then it makes the journey a little more fun:)
I'm so sorry you're going through this, I know it's so hard at the beginning stages with all the uncertainty. One step at a time, everything will be okay! Here for you, friend! You're not alone!
I am getting my surgery and I was looking up the procedure and the aftermath of the surgery in the healing process cause I’m in college right now and I have work right now so I’m just like how long this take for me to heal.
What lead them to removing it I still have mine had it for two years so many problems w it too and still no talk of surgery even though I meet w a neuro surgeon
Thank you for sharing your story! I would like to know, if you don’t mind sharing, how big was your tumor, how long did you go before they determined they would operate on it, and where do you have your treatment/surgery done? This is inspiring for many of us that are in limbo with our tumor diagnosis as we wait for the next step to happen. Also, what were some of your signs, health changes prior to treatment and the discovery of the tumor?
Of course! So thankful to be here for you! My tumor was about 8mm by the time they removed it in October 2023. I was diagnosed in early September 2022 and my tumor was only 4mm then. I started Cabergoline in October 2022. I had a lot of side effects that I couldn’t live with, so I had to go down to a really low dose. I got my 1 year follow up MRI at the end of August 2023 and saw the tumor had grown. Got an appointment and met with my surgeon on September 8. Scheduled my surgery that day and had surgery on October 17! My pituitary gland was left fully intact and functioning and the tumor is completely gone! I don’t have to be on any meds and have no complications 🤍 I saw Dr. Baskin at Houston Methodist and couldn’t recommend him enough!
@@EmmaCruz-tu2xo im making more prolactin than normal im on a ultra low dose of cabergoline for the past 2 years. Size is the same, prolactin normal but upper range. I'm changing endos to see if he can increase my dose to destroy this pituitary tumor for good.
Hi gabbi, thank you for your sharing. I was diagnosed with pituitary adenoma three to four years ago. I am in the border line can do or not do a surgery to remove it. However, my surgeon keep pushing me to do the surgery. My main concern is that will the surgery damage my pituitary gland or nose causing other problems. Does any of you guys have this problem?
