We are a couple who are building our own home from the ground up in the mountains of West Virginia. After living near the city our entire lives we finally decided to sell it all, pack up our 3 kids and live in an RV on our 73 acres while we building our own off grid house and learning to live a more self-reliant life.

Those boys have grown up so fast. Look at them helping you guys so much. You are doing such a great job with the children. I have noticed how polite they all are. So rare to see that in young folks today.

I have to compliment Josh on how he never gets mad when something doesn't work out- like the bolts. You always seem to remain calm and then go about finding a way to fix the problem. 👍 Good Job!

Wow, just Wow. The barn/bathroom door has turned out beautiful, the colour, the door handles and fittings are just out of this world and match beautifully with the bathroom and the surroundings of the house. Josh and Erin is there nothing you two can not do? you both are amazing. The boys are so helpful and look like they enjoy doing the chores, collecting the wood driving the mule etc etc They are growing up fast and little Elly is so sweet and ready to join in, in everything. Have a great day guys and still rest a bit, after your flu .

The doors, crown modeling and the incredible hardware are gorgeous and really add to the elegance and homeyness of your home. The fact that you and your family worked together to build and customize it only adds to the memories and history that you will treasure for generations to come. Other people have commented that watching you go through every step of the way to make your dreams come true is much better than any movie or television show on cable/satellite/network channels and definitely a million times better than any “reality “show which is actually more staged and scripted than a regular television show. I don’t have cable, satellite or network television because what little we might want to watch can usually be found on UA-cam or through my Amazon prime app. We generally only watch things we find on UA-cam and the number of channels that we subscribe to is constantly changing and channels get eliminated daily whenever they start falling into the UA-cam trap and lose their focus and reason for creating their channel. Thank you for sharing your dreams with us and keeping it real without sugar coating it when things don’t go to the plan. I don’t normally buy merchandise from channels, but I just received a couple of items from your merchandise that I ordered from Christmas presents. My family is going to LOVE it.

Oh how sweet that little ellie is.so cute getting ready for her first snow fun day. She was so excited she could hardly contain herself.
I like seeing the boys and ellie working getting and stacking firewood. Your already teaching them good work ethics but they've been doing that all along as ive seen them feeding animals and doing other chores.
I wish all families would get back to those days it would be a much better country if every family taught there kids chores and good work ethics takes you along ways in life.
I was raised that way putting in hay and feeding the pigs and cows and taking care of my dog and cats. I mowed a few lawns when I was 10 in the neighborhood and saved.
I loved every minute of it, dad even took me with him when it was time to go to my uncles and butcher the cows and pigs.i learned alot growing up that way.its just good oh family farming and bonding that you never forget.
Absolutely love your barn doors and the hardware. You don't find rollers like that just anywhere .the look perfect on those doors and in that home.
Love the door handles also so ornate and great looking.yall did another awesome job as always.
What happened to the black bolts on the middle door rails or did I misunderstand what you were going to do?
Or maybe thats the few things you still have to do yet.
But they look so great.love the size of them also.big oh doors .you have great vision to know what you want things to look like and then you build it and turns out perfect.
My mom lives in North Central Pennsylvania and got a foot of snow.
Hopefully yall didn't get 2 feet that would be tough to handle and move with the tractor but would be fun trying LOL.
Bruce is probably like what on earth is this white stuff 😄
Ok another long week until the next video I guess.
But I suppose I will survive LOL
    Be safe 🙏

I was thinking to remake the rail, but with the mounting holes not in the center. If the hole was lower on the rail, it would raise the top edge of the rail without any modification needed to the lag bolt heads. Would also raise the entire door a bit, but not sure if that's a big deal.

    • @markmusser9896
      @markmusser9896 4 роки тому

...or maybe you could slot the existing holes in the rail vertically...essentially extending them downward, so you could slide the rail upward compared to the lag. I'll bet the screw compression would keep the rail from sliding down in the slot, once the lags are tightened. Then you wouldn't have to look at those modified lag screw heads every time you walked by there...
