    Hi sir, i am working on a 1970 hilux with 3R-C swapping with a 20R but motor mounts wont line up. Any advise

      You might have to make custom solid mounts. Or make some isolated ones. Even though my 73 had a 20r swapped in it before the 22r hybrid I couldn't get in without making a custom mount on one side.

    Looks good if you want you can port a vacuum line into the cannon intake runner for your dizzy

    • @PeaceSTAR253
      @PeaceSTAR253  4 роки тому +1

      The dizzy doesn't have vacuum advance. Wouldn't that be manifold vacuum as well. I thought vacuum advance needed to be ported in front of the butterflies.

      @@PeaceSTAR253 My 22r with dual carbs I have a port for vacuum on the manifold but it is a Mikuni on Cannons you have to drill and tap it. All vacuum for distributor, brake booster, turbo,supercharger, etc. Uses same vacuum pressure that is taken between base of carb to head. Hope that helps. Keep us updated with the hybrid 🤙

    Thinking about doing the same on my 1981 Toyota Hilux Pickup, have a late model 22R block but struggling to find a head to match.

      You have to machine down a 20r head to the right height. Check Facebook marketplace and offer up.

    Very cool, you keep it OG. I have a 74 Hilux, same truck, but I'm planning in dropping a 3RZ in it, and possibly turbo it. A bit more complicated, but I wanna do it once, and have a sleeper.

      Keep in mind the early second gens are a bit tighter in the engine bay. I had a hard time getting a radiator and fan to fit.

    im in the middle of my hybrid,
    using 82 22rblock and 76 20r head
    wondering what jets you're running. how much timing adjustment did you have to put in at the cam gear?

    • @PeaceSTAR253
      @PeaceSTAR253  3 роки тому

      That's a loaded question. To degree the cam it's based on the specs of your motor. I don't feel comfortable sharing my numbers because it may not work for you and end bad. Jets are what came with them. Haven't really dialed it in but they are close. I used color tune to verify the carbs are not far off.

      It might be or maybe just the early models.

      Puntang Pink and Arctic White were very popular colors.

    Very nice build. Have you considered going efi and adding a turbo... Check out speeduino stand alone ecu. The heart of any turbo project. I came across this not too long ago and just bought one for a 1990 miata. It's a plug and play. Just add a few sensors and a turbo and you can double or triple the power depending on what you are willing to spend.

    • @PeaceSTAR253
      @PeaceSTAR253  4 роки тому +1

      I'm not going to turbo this bottom end because its a high compression build. Down the road on a different block I might. I would do itb's and make my own turbo plenum. Haven't looked into the speeduino. The cost of the engine management, injectors, and sensors stopped me from doing efi.

      @@PeaceSTAR253 oh, dude you can get a speeduino for $250 - $300 it's not terribly difficult to learn, there's tons of kids and dudes swapping engines and using these ecu's I've spent many hours on UA-cam and I'm all in. Getting my miata from the body shop this weekend and amongst the first few things I'm doing is the speeduino plug and play. (naturally aspirated) to learn how to program it. Then ebay turbo. Dudes are getting 200 horses plus out of a 1.6 engine.
