I know that this is an only English team's list, but Achilles '29 from the Netherlands I think has to take the cake when it comes to back-to-back relegations.
In the 16/17 season, they were in the 2nd tier of Dutch football. In this season, they finished rock bottom on 19 points (3 points were deducted due to not meeting financial requirements. Usually in the Eerste Divisie, teams don't get relegated, but the bottom place team gets asked if they'd like to give up their professional status or not. The last time a team got relegated was in the 16/17 season, and can you guess which team this was? It was Achilles '29. They decided to give up their professional status and with that started their downfall and financial struggles. The following 17/18 Tweede Divisie (3rd division) season had Achilles '29 get relegated again, finishing rock bottom with only 12 points in 34 games and conceding 100 goals and only scoring 41. The 18/19 Derde Divisie (4th division) season had Achilles '29 get relegated again, also finishing rock bottom, with slightly higher points than the previous season with 16 points, but conceded 107 goals and only scored 44. Achilles '29 weren't relegated in the 19/20 nor 20/21 Hoofdklasse (as you can guess, the 5th division) because of COVID lockdowns, but both seasons would've gotten them relegated with the 19/20 season stopped after 20 games, but they only had 1 SINGULAR POINT in those 20 games and the 20/21 season ending after just 5 games with no points. When the 21/22 season came rolling around, surprise surprise they got relegated with 17 points, although they were second to last place above VV Rijsoord, who for once was a team that was worse than Achilles '29. Finally, in the 22/23 season, Achilles '29 in the Eerste Klasse (6th division) finished 12th out of 13 teams and for once was not in the automatic relegation zone (instead in the relegation play-offs zone), but lost the relegation play-offs and got relegated. In the 23/24 Tweede Klasse (7th division) season, they finally survived relegation and this is the first season since the 15/16 Eerste Divisie that they survived relegation. Although I cannot find any information about the standings of the Tweede Klasse, according to Wikipedia, they are still in the 7th tier, meaning that they have finally survived relegation. This means that in just 6 years, they went from the 2nd tier to the 7th tier, or 5 consecutive relegations in just 6 years (if you don't count the seasons of COVID).

To be fair with Swindon Town's relegation in the 1994/95 season, if it had been the normal 3 teams going down system like it has been for almost 30 years in a row from the 1995/96 season, they wouldn't have suffered relegation. In other words, they got relegated probably due to the change of the league structure.

Technically you're correct but Swindon would of gone down the season after anyway. That Premier League pounding they took in 93/94 really really hurt them. They've never come close to recovering

Also could have had Forest Green Rovers as well they got relegated from league 1 in 2022-23 season and then from league 2 to the national league in 2023-24 season

Pompey finally back in the Championship this season (2024/25) but with our current position it looks like we might be back in League One next season (typing this in October 2024 with most of the season left).

If you're talking one season specifically I think there's only 2. Bristol Rovers and Grimsby Town. Unless you're considering down to the NL and down again.

@@DHW3008 Bristol Rovers, Shrewsbury, and I think maybe Carlisle have all gone down to the NL/Conference and come straight back up inside one season. Very few clubs who go down to that level manage to get back up at the first attempt. Grimsby did it too, the second time they went out of the league, but their first non league stint lasted several years.

Southend have had back to back relegation twice. 96/97, 97/98 Championship to League 2 and 2019/20, 2020/21 League 1 to NL. Terrible ownership and d,day winding up order survival led to the 2nd the club are now safe but performing poorly in NL.

    Wolves were a massive disaster.
First time: European football and league cup winners years ago.
Second time: 3 years in the Prem and were 3rd in November.
