The wing flapping on the trailing edge is adding drag for sure. If you can get it to inflate and stay rigid it should make it feel more stable and should glide better as well.
two thoughts from a flex wing fanatic, a simple split cross bar with one hinge in the middle is probably the best way to open and close this wing. Look up how modern hanggliders open and close it should be fairly straight forward to implement a servo can drive a spool to pull the line that pulls the bar back with a gear reduction to drive the decoupled potentiometer just like you did on the swing wing. second if you want to have the ability to alter the wing angle you can just go all in and do weight shift for both pitch and roll/yaw . there are many RC hanggliders you can reference for this control arrangement. this would let you ditch the tail assembly entirely. either way great video looking forward to see how you go about solving this one!

I would've for sure bought that hoodie if i lived in a less poor country :] Also for the design I can imagine one issue (or two really), the wings could possibly get ripped off at high g maneuvers and efficiency could be quite bad at full scale where it doesnt cost 1 cent to fully charge the battery and range is a huge focus

Design idea: Make the anchor points of the wing freely spinning, and make it so that when you're on the ground they fall into the car itself, and then when you take of it just pops right out of there. You could also make the wing contract in it's width by having a servo in the front.

Idea for a flying car. If you set up a car like the Ibishu Pigeon and stick a fan on the ( like paramotor ). The chuck out the engine. Keep the steering system. The you need wings they can twist and then fold into the side , when the wings are out the Flying car (it should be called the flying pigeon) will have no sides and will be completely open as the wings can act as sides.then all you need is Ailerons on the wings. I think I’m gonna try make it rc after my current project but I’m very knew to the hobby and don’t have much budget so we will see. It should just need an 6 channel Reciever with the motor and esc servo for steering the front wheel and 2 servos for Ailerons which would could be in the base of the wing ( the bit that just has to twist and not go back or something like that idk ). It would move forward like a car with the fan and fly with fan aswell gaining lift by its outstretched wings. The motor must be fairly powerful as the wings won’t be massive. It would fly badly and turns would be hard but it should fly as long as the body is light enough. 😂😂. Thanks for the video hope the project goes well

You can bassically use a Micro light frame design so drag should not be two bad, and the wings could be connected on an axle running through the flying car. Then u could use string ruining through to fully extended the wings by twisting it taught round a motor in the Center if the aircraft
Perhaps you could have a servo with a string tied to the center point of the trailing edge of the fabric on each side to pull down either side to work as ailerons? (I'm not sure which way it would go, and how much it would need to pull to have a meaningful effect though; oh and also, dunno how much the fabric would need to be reinforced to not tear at the attachment point) Or perhaps if it's gonna fold out, you could have it fold out asymmetrically on aileron input?
That hot glue is realy convenient, but it's adding so much unnecessary weight to your models. I would urge you to try better lighter adhesives it would require a bit more patience but the rewards are well worth it.
