- In this week's episode of Keeping Goals, I show you how I clean my Goalkeeper Gloves, I give you a quick update on the club search for next season, and we ask for your ideas for Series 3 of Keeping Goals!
Cleaning my gloves has always been really important to make sure that I get as much out of them as possible. I know people have different methods, but this is the way I have always cleaned my gloves, so I hope it helps you guys!

Wouldn’t wringing the glove start to tear or rip the latex on the glove?
You obviously don't want to wring them aggressively, but I've done this technique thousands of the times and never ripped the latex
I can't wait to see him go full professional playing for teams in PL or La Liga. Like you get to say to yourself "yep, that's the same Conor I used to watch on UA-cam, finally becoming a full time professional GK"

Got to say I've really enjoyed watching your content for the last year.
My last season wasn't brilliant, as I only played 3 matches due to injury.
Since then, I've moved back home from uni, and was offered a trial with my local club. I was slightly nervous as I thought I'd be rusty (which I probably was), but they still offered me a contract after a few sessions and games.

There is nothing that I didn't like in keeping goals this season was the actual start. Beter quality new challenges intresting challenges nice insight view of the whole goalkeeping and university life it is like a nice little tv show actually but for goalies. Question about glove sizes, or more of a recommendation. How’d I work out what’s an ideal fit for me when buying online with a new brand?
Well the two easiest ways are go try them on in a shop (if there is any around you) and then order them online. Or you could just ask the support from the brand you're trying to buy, what size you should get if you had Adidas before for example. But generally speaking most of the brands have pretty much the same seize, especially the "new" brands (not Adidas, Nike, Uhlsport or Reusch).
In general, they are normally very close in sizes across brands. But you can always ask if its possible to return the gloves if the size in't quite right, but i'd suggest asking this before you buy them!

The things I liked the most are a combination of:
- seeing your personal journey (trials, trips, games etc)
- following your trainings, both in the gym and on the field (as I try to reproduce some of it for instance)
- extra tips such as the nutrition video you did a while back.
The videos that were a tad bit less entertaining would the ones showing long / repetitive field training sessions with no comment (you could show and explain each exercise via voiceover and just a few reps for instance). But there was not many of those in season 2 to be honest, just trying to give some tips or ideas for your future content ;)

Ideas for Series 3: Maybe a kind of goalkeeper history section? Like what and who inspired you to become a goalkeeper? Who do you deem to be some of the best keepers in the world (past and present) and why? Are there any particular matches or goalkeeping performances you have seen which stick in the memory as ultimate goalkeeping performances (De Gea's match v Arsenal comes to mind for example)? Also, it would be hilarious to swap roles for one video. You do all the filming whilst Jonny does a training session or something?

Hey, so as a fellow goalkeeper who wants to get better I want to see more of your days, pretty much what you do to get better (eating,training etc.).I'm moving so I would love if you could do a tips video on how to make a good first impression in a new club. I also want to see more technical tutorials and fundamentals broken down into more detail, example: one thing i struggle with is diving on my weak side, which is my left side btw. If you could do that it would be awesome, Thanks mate! !

With new gloves I put them hanging in the shower, then I put them in a box when slightly moist and they got a brown/orange spot, could you help me identify what it could be. My thought is mold but they don't smell
I wouldn't put them in a box when they are still wet, as that is when you can get damp marks. Dry them fully by airing them before you pack them away
would be nice to have more game footage with analysis :)

How long does it take for your gloves to dry? How would you clean them if you have a training session everyday?
Great video btw!
They normally take about 12 hours to dry, so if you clean them/squeeze them out straight after the session and hang them up, they should be ready for the next day

how long do your gloves usually last during the season? also, is it better to store the gloves in a towel after cleaning them rather than room temperature?
Normally, a pair will last me 1-2 months. and room temperature has always worked well for me if you hang them up

It's just a nail brush!
Do you need to use a brush or can you just use your fingers to rub off dirt?
You can use you hands, but i find a brush works best

It’s a small brush for your nails!

You can use your hands instead, but the nail brush is the best thing I have found for it

Should I clean my old gloves that are torn? Would it make it worse?
If you're careful not to tear them any more, it may help the grip if they are clean
How long after a match or training session should you wash? I'm usually too lazy to wash on the same day
Same day is best because it gives the gloves longer to dry, and they can become more difficult to clean properly if you wait longer!

Great techniques on cleaning your gloves, but just one tip: I wouldn’t ring out you gloves as you might rip the latex (I just squeeze them)

Jack Briggs very good in my experience! Usually wear 1 pair for 1-2 months, and I use them pretty much everyday

Depends on the glove wash, but there are some good ones which help!

Hello mate, of course I do! There since day 1! It's difficult, but you can mainly fin coaches through searching on google, or maybe facebook/linked in. And then you should be able to find their website and contact details.

How long will it take for the gloves to dry because I’ve got a football trip coming up and I want to wash them every night but will they be dry for the morning
If u soak them through most gloves take 24-48 hours to fully dry

@@wukkapig3031 u could probably speed this up a bit by wrapping them in a towel after washing them and squeezing/standing on the towel to get the excess water out properly and then wrapping them in a dry towel thats what i usually do if i need them to be reasonably dry withing the next 12-24 hours but i usually just leave them to air dry
Its really just the glove body that stays wet and take the longest to dry, the latex is usually dry enough to use withing about 12 hours, it really depends on the gloves

artificial grass but sometimes just grass
I think the friction between the artificial grass and the glove when you dive is causing the wear. I would suggest being careful when you get up after a dive so you don't use your palm or I would advise looking at @1ynxgk on Instagram. I use their gloves and their cheap and top quality

I've never used any abrasive but just my fingers or knuckles right after the game during my shower. It dries within the office from the AC
That's another way of doing it! I just found that the brush helps clean it that bit more!

The problem I have is that, the insides never dry enough before the latex starts to become dry. And if I continue to try to dry the gloves, the latex will become even more dry and lose its grip
That's why I wring them out before hanging them up, so there's no excess water on the inside
@@ConorOKeefe I do wring them out but the insides still don't dry fast enough before the latex on the outside dries up since it is exposed to the air more 🙁

Noo, washing them also helps to make sure that they're not too smelly!
