You recommend other alternatives such as the PRO X Superlight (basically the same price as the 903 in Australia) and the G305. Both of these mice are not suitable to left handers, personally I cant use the side buttons with my ring or pinky fingers. I currently use a G300s but I want to upgrade because Logitech does not support this mouse in G-HUB. So if you are a left hander wanting a gaming mouse with programmable buttons what do you recommend?

    • @andriizadorozhnyi4697
      @andriizadorozhnyi4697 2 роки тому

The original G Pro has the option to switch the side buttons to either side so it's perfectly suitable for left handers.

I have been using mine for a little over 3 years now and I have no regrets. Also, I would totally agree that it is a very expensive mouse as well as having so many features in the software, also being adjustable base on applications and game profiles. I did also get the Powerplay Mat and I do like it but certainly not worth the 100+ USD asking price. For the type of tech, it is one of the best wireless chargers for the mouse out there, and as someone that frequently uses it on the go from home to work and back it does come in handy in that, I do not have to think twice about charging it for at least 4 to 5 days.
It is very expensive but if you are picky about a PC mouse down to the aesthetic and functions then you can't go wrong with it. I would be more inclined to recommend the G503 if you find the price too high.

    • @AlexRodzianko

Agree with pretty much all of this! I wouldn’t go for the Powerplay mouse pad personally because I just don’t think it’s worth the price, but yeah, for some people it’s a pretty nice accessory.

My G903 lightspeed has served me well, as has the powerplay mousepad. Though, after only about 1 year or so of use, I had to replace the switches. I've had my G903 for 3 or 4 years now and it still works great.

I think there are still reasons to go for the G903, competitive play or not. Of all the rechargeable gaming mice Logitech has, the G903 Hero (not the previous Lightspeed variant with the PMW3366) has the highest battery life of 180 hours without RGB (assuming you won't go for the Powerplay mat). Which you can stretch further with lower polling rates for say desktop use. The G305 does last longer, but that figure was made with a non-rechargeable AA in mind. Those will always have more capacity than their rechargeable counterparts. The G305 is also smaller and more of a claw or fingertip type of mouse. Whereas the G903 can support palm, claw or fingertip grips. Personally, I don't really trust Razer in terms of reliability and their designs are not something for me. As such, they are a no-go to me. The G903 has also gone down in price elsewhere. It can be had for about €100, down from €150 when it came out. The price on Logitech's site seems to be the MSRP.
Side buttons are actually the most used of the extra buttons on a gaming mouse. They are pretty much always there, even on something like the G Pro X Superlight. You can also find them on mice that are more aimed at productivity, like the M590. Side buttons are handy for assigning often used functions and for going back and forward in say your browser or file explorer. The DPI up and down buttons can be repurposed for volume up or down or for something else of course.
The Logitech M275 I'd classify as more of a laptop mouse. In that use case, a smaller mouse is more portable and space might be more limited. A comparison to other desktop (gaming) mice would have been more sensible.
I personally found the old software they had - Logitech Gaming Software or LGS - to be more intuitive. Like in GHub, you can't directly edit a profile you've saved on the mouse. You have to go back to Profiles and then save that profile to a slot. The profiles section is also detached from the rest of the UI where you can actually change your bindings, DPI etc. Which makes it bit confusing or at the very least finicky.
DPI determines how detailed the map of the mouse will be. It is not the same as sensitivity. That is a separate setting in Windows or whatever game you're playing. Sensitivity essentially goes on top of the DPI.

      @B.D.E. 2 роки тому

No one should buy the g903, it's an awful product with cheap, unreliable switches that die on you in 1/4 of the time that you'd expect a mouse to last.
      It's 99% marketing bullshit, 1% gaming mouse.

    • @Root174
      @Root174 2 роки тому

@@B.D.E. If it was that bad, then the product would not have sold at all and would have been scrapped. Logitech would have been in big trouble as well. People who have problems should absolutely request replacements via the store or through Logitech or ask for a refund. It is however important to remember that people who experience problems have reason to complain. Everyone else is too busy using their products.
I'm not sure if I will pick the G903 Hero as my next mouse. I'm also considering the G502 Lightspeed as that mouse is more ergonomic and has extra buttons that are easier to reach. For now, I will continue to use my G502 Proteus Spectrum. Which I've had for ~5.5 years now.

Had the g900 for roughly 6 years. The longer battery life was the sole reason I upgraded to the g903 lightspeed with the hero sensor.
It was pricey, but imo 100% worth it.
There is basically no discernable difference in the sensor, precision-wise. But the increased battery life is an _immense_ upgrade in comfort.
I went from the more or less regular feeling of "ill soon have to plug it in again" to thinking "i can't even remember when I last charged".
I think charging is also much faster than the g900, but I'm not sure.
I've never had the double click issue like people before me report both with the g900 and g903, but it seems it's just luck of the draw.
I'm too happy with the battery life to not buy this mouse again if something goes wrong with it. I was really surprised that the battery life was actually as good as advertised.
The rest might be marketing nonsense, but as someone who has long been sold on wireless, realising that wireless has also long been completely fine and good for gaming, battery life is sort of the "last frontier" for wireless.
And ofc that's already been solved with the recharging mats (which I haven't got, becuase too expensive and not my preferred type of mat).

    Hi!
Can anyone point out other mice models , more striped out in terms of functions hence cheaper but solid enough for gaming that can simultaneously be wireless (for instance to a TV) while charging wired in a charger near where I sit (away from the TV). I don't want to care about batteries.
I´d just need it to handle clicks without dying, just left and right click buttons are enough, be wireless in connectivity to a smart tv and at the same time be able to be powered via USB.
By the way, if you know of a regular mechanical keyboard that can also be wireless to connect to the tv and at the same time chargeable via USB, please throw some models!
    Thanks !

Being left-handed I don’t think the price is an issue, but it makes the "Logitech G Pro X" a none-option. I love the option to block off buttons on the unused side - it is a welcomed feature. However, having the button below the scroll wheel not customizable is a deal breaker for FPS gaming. I am glad you mentioned this before I bought this. If anyone is still thinking about getting this mouse i'd say avoid logitech as much as I love them.
The forums are riddled with people who have had issues with this mouse such as one click can sometimes register as 2 or will fail to stay held when dragging or selecting, as a blender user this is a huge issues, not too often but when it does happen it's extremely annoying with no apparent fix, some say it's static and press the buttons while off others say to replace the switches themselves which can be found on youtube.
another issue is it will randomly disconnect/freeze till it's turned off and on.
The last main issue which seems to be the least frequent is the middle mouse button can be really hard to click at times, I dont know of the fix for this one as this is the only one of the three I haven't had issues with while others have sent in their devices upto 4 times and still never receiving a mouse without any of the issues mentioned.
I love logitech since their program is filled with tons of features such as hotkey toggable macros and while the program seems to not only take up 1/10 the resources corsairs Icue does, it's also extremely stable in comparison the problem I have is with the overall quality of logitech hardware, browsing for these answers I found alot of posts not just on the mouse but logitech hardware in general that seems to never actually get fixed after several years.
If you've read all this, please dont say "well I didn't have this problem", not everyone is/will, it's just with how many problems i've seen and read I can't recommend logitechs products specially with how they handle things, the device lines are never fixed they just replace the product and hope it does not exist in that one, then in the forums I can't tell you how many times I saw tech copy and paste the same answer to the point they ignored it being the first comment and would copy pasta it again even after multiple users stated their frustration with the first answer already being a copy pasta answer they've already received.

I’d say it depends on 2 things: 1) which design you prefer, and 2) how heavy you want the mouse to be. Go with the Superlight if you want a lighter mouse (which might be easier for competitive gaming) without too many bells and whistles like extra buttons everywhere etc. The G903 would be better if you like the bulkier design and like the mouse a little heavier. If I had to choose now, I’d probably go for the Superlight, but you might have different preferences. Hope that helps!

Bought this mouse 2 years back, it started double clicking on me after 3 months of use. For whatever reason wd40 fixed it (?) and I have yet to get the issue repeating itself. But .. my confidence with this product is extremely low considering the price that I've paid

    • @coconuts1483

The viper from razer is very similar and they use optical switches which are impossible to double click. Its a premium product tho so it is a hefty price.

I mean it's really easy to get some stuff between the switch and the mouse button because it's just so extruding and whatever I think it's just very possible some dirt or whatever gets between there causing permanent damage or bridging connections.

Little disclaimer for anybody looking to buy this mouse. For some reason that I cannot explain Logitech cheaped out on the mouse switches. A couple of months into usage I had both rmb and lmb start to go bad with clicks not registering or double clicks for no reason. I could not do any actions that required me to hold the mouse button down. I had to purchase switches online(they are stupidly cheap), take my mouse apart, remove the old switches, and solder the new ones on. I love this mouse and it has been great ever since but if you buy this mouse be ready to RMA or whip out your soldering kit.

I've had the same with my RMB, double clicks and really can't rely on the haptic feedback and audible click at all to use it because those are 90% disconnected of actually registering as a button press

@@vinn7944 I still use the mouse and love it, but the switches went bad very quickly for me. I had to solder on new ones. I don't think you can say I am lying when the fix videos for the bad G903 switches have hundreds of thousands of views.

I've had them for like 3 years and it works, but the side button double clicks if pressed in a certain way, noticed playing risk of rain with abilities being used twice, i like the scrollwheel because it allows for some easy bunny hopping or just spam jumping (useful in deep rock galactic to climb a very steep hill without killing your spacebar for an example)
One pretty bad thing is that over time all sorta gunk gets between the crevices all over the mouse and they're super tedious to clean up (especially the cracks between the mouse buttons, because there's one spot that's like a triangle corner making it very narrow.)

  • @j.d.4697

Absolutely love the idea and it the tech worked flawlessly, however...
...too few buttons, super cheap materials that became loose after just 1 or 2 weeks and felt really bad to the touch.
Most of those buttons you are mentioning don't do anything for you in games. The 3 at the top do nothing in a game and are cumbersome to reach anyway, the 2 on each side are just 2 in total, can't be mapped with 4 different functions and who can actually conveniently use the wheel side buttons? Not me, 1 of them if I try.
And by now there are much faster, more responsive designs too.

Well the only thing I disagree with here is the part about it's weight and how it's not fit for competitive gaming. Because it's actually quite the opposite. For FPS games a heavier mouse will allow for more precise aiming, especially in a game like CS:GO where micro-adjustments are key

this mouse is absolute dogshit, do NOT buy it. you get double click problems after 1 - 3 months because of the very low quality switches they use. i've had this problem with multiple newer logitech products as they seem to have shifted away completely from the once quality products they sold.
i broke my mouse on the pavement outside in frustration over yet again a dogshit quality pheripheral and tossed it where it belongs, in the rubbish.
    beware of logitech products.

It's a piece of shit with cheap crappy switches that lets down pretty much everyone who uses it long term. You got lucky, or maybe you just didn't use it enough.
It should be priced at 50 max given the cheap, unreliable switches.

DONT BUY!
