I swear, your original music really elevates your videos to a level that just make them that much more enjoyable. I’m so glad I discovered your channel.
My husband's Grandmother was born in Natchez Mississippi. Thanks for sharing. He has never been there. The family moved to California in the early 1940's👍
Happy Sunday Robert! I just finished driving the Natchez Trace in the other direction, from Tupelo to Natchez. The Trace has to be one of the most relaxing drives in America. It doesn't knock you out with spectacular views like the scenic drives out west but those two lanes of well-paved road through the countryside without stoplights or strip malls are a joy to drive. They were doing restoration works on the Windsor Ruins when I was there--it was kind of weird to see a guy in a bucket lift in the middle of those columns. Anywho, thanks again for taking us along for the ride. Happy trails!
Favorite part was the old church piano rendition of the theme song played by none other than Traveling Robert himself. Excellent! Does anyone else get that song stuck in their head for days??!
I've lived less than a mile off of the Natchez Trace since 2002. It is my favorite thing about Mississippi. I've driven thousands of miles on The Trace and it never gets old.
Hi Robert, I remember driving so fondly the whole length of the Natchez Trace Parkway from Natchez to Nashville a few years ago. ((Actually, from Natchez to Pasquo, a small community in southwest Nashville.) What an amazing drive! So glad you did this!
Don't comment as much as I used to but every Sunday and Monday it's time for traveling with Robert... Another great video brother! See you on the road!
Robert, I am glad that your parents found their way to America. Themselves & you are perfect examples of how immigrants have made America the wonderful land that it has been. I have enjoyed watching your adventures for years & will continue to do so. All the best to you & Elie. Happy Trails !
Hahah “ when they were not ... ruined”. Windsor must have been beautiful. Absolutely love watching where you go Robert , been here from the beginning , now we have to head over to Natches Trace and explore.
We will follow part of your journey this summer. After traveling from Wyoming across to Tennessee, down through Georgia to camp at Disney Fort Wilderness, we will start back along the gulf coast. We plan to go from the coast through Mobile and up highway 49 into Mississippi, but we are heading to Vicksburg instead of Natchez on our way to Texas and home. Thanks for the insight into part of the path of our trip. Natchez Trace will be a great trip to add to our list.
I havent been the country store in a few years, but when i went it was all you could eat fried chicken, chicken so fresh it even still had some tiny feathers. But the owner of the restraunt (i think), comes out and sings to the crowd. Quite the character last time i met him. If you ever have the oppurtunity to go i recommend it, even if just for the experience.
We loved driving the Trace some years back. We also went from north to south. It felt like we were driving on a golf course.Everything was so green and manicured. We also spent a few days once in Natchez and stayed at the Riverview RV park in Vidalia. It was lovely. We used the shower house which was quite nice as well. I rained hard during our first night there and water pooled in the driveway to our parking space. We were quite surprised when the manager sent some guys with a load of crushed rock which they used to fill in the low spot and get rid of the standing water. It was a very nice place to stay, and Vidalia has a lovely restaurant near the campground where we ate and we did some family history research in the local library, which has a great local history collection. The town was moved after the great flood of 1927 to place it on higher ground and allow fo4 construction of a levee to keep the river under some control. I’d go again in a heartbeat!
Nice piano playing in that little church. The acoustics were great. If you haven't seen Rattlesnake Saloon in Alabama, near the Natchez Trace Pkwy, I highly recommend it. I believe it's in Tuscumbia Alabama.
Robert, thank you for these videos of the Trace. We traveled on this about a month after you in early March on our way home northeast to Pennsylvania after a trip to Texas to visit family. It was a pleasure to drive on the Trace and not have the craziness of the interstates. However, we did not make too many stops along the way except for the information station with bathrooms. So that is where your videos have been so great to watch! The redbud trees and some flowers were just starting to bloom, and I imagine it’s much more beautiful now with the trees leafing out. That lake was quite impressive. We finally had to get off for the detour, but never got back on as we decided to take another NE route. Was looking forward to, but missed out on going over the bridge expanse on the northern end. Thanks again for the commentary and if you are ever near Erie, PA, visit Lake Erie!
I don't recall us stopping at many of these pull-offs, back in the 80s. So thanks for taking us on your journey in the cold weather of Feb--I wonder if that piano ever played, "Free in my RV"?
So enjoyed this and looking forward to the rest of the drive. My Granddaughter and I just drove part of the Natchez Trace in Tennessee and Alabama on our way to Gulf Shores. So beautiful. She is 18 and wants to drive the rest of it. Thank you!
I hate you missed driving the Trace in springtime when there are dogwood, redbud, and wisteria blooms. It is magical. Summer is lush green and a crisp fall day with the sweet smell of leaves crushing underfoot is also a sweet time. The winter dodrums of February though....offer the promise of spring. 🌸🌿🍂🌫️
i have lived all my life just a small walk from the Natchez trace in Maury county Tennessee. I have been from one end to the other many times. 50mph slow long quite ride. good video Robert, i also do a lot of camping in Linden perry county and all along the Tennessee river.
Thank you so much for produceing this wonderful Video again. Sunday 2 pm in Switzerland, is RV-Day on my sofa and I riding with you. Much greetings to you and your family, from Thomas
Beautiful Sunday morning music 🎼 Robert! In the church at rocky hollow. Thank you for sharing your talents. My apologies Rocky Springs @ 30:11-31:00 mins.
I just love your videos Robert, I can't wait for you next video. I live in the UK and hope one day to visit the US, love the scenery, in fact I love everthing about them, I even find it interesting the places you stop to eat, so very differant from England.
Hello Traveling Robert😊😊🎸🎸🎵🎵🍔🍔🍔, I know Mississippi very well as I have family there. I have never been on the Natchez Trace Parkway so I really enjoyed this video. Great video Robert👍👍👍👍.
The dc to dc charger can be installed on your truck. Then connect it to your battery circuit on the trailer for charging. Disconnect when you need to drive just the truck.
Loved watching the scenery along The Trace. It has been a long time since I have been there. I live in downtown Jackson and when you visited the Capital Building you were only three blocks from where I live. I have been waiting for Mississippi adventuring and hope you enjoyed your travels here,
Beautiful as always, even w/o all the foliage. Theres an archaelogical site outside of Manchester TN that's been turned into a state park called Old Stone Fort that's over a mile around built between 100-500 AD that they're still not sure what its purpose was. There's a nearby campground as well.
Mud Island in Memphis, Tennessee has a scale model of the Mississippi but I don't believe it is as big as the one you visited in this video. Happy and safe travels!
Morning! ... great videos. I finally got my RV (first timer). Your videos, I have been watching for a while, and like how you take the time to narrate your travels. Hope to see you on my travels when traveling to Florida.
The actual trail starts very very close to the campsite he stayed in - but the campground end isn't very clearly marked. It's a very nice trail and most of it follows the Old Trace. He did pass by the other end of the trail - which IS clearly marked - on his way to the ghost town. I have always wondered, also, why the trail isn't on AllTrails.
That's some great campgrounds you found. A personal pet peeve of mine is when I see videos of people saying what a great campground there staying at, and it looks more like an RV parking lot that packed so tight you can not even open
Having spent time on the Trace, your video was a good one. Or should I say more relaxed. Not being able to take the time at the capitol is the difference between planned and serendipitous trips. Years ago when my son was in Boy Scouts, we biked from Nashville to Natchez. We broke the trip into three sections, a section done each year in May over a weekend. Wouldn't that adventure be a good one, maybe on your ebike. Illy could drive the Mini behind you filming your trip and providing you a rest stop. Is it possible? Yes, just notify the Park and they will watcn out for you to prevent speeders from creating problems for you.
Taking a look on Google what the Windsor ruins looked like when it wasn't "ruined" and it was magnificent. But it seemed that there are way too many columns there. I guess the builder had a thing for columns. If you were standing on the outside porches, you could hardly see around them. 😁
I parked at the very campground site that you did At Jeff Busby. I was pulling my 2015 Winnebago like the one you use to have. Did you come into the campground though from the wrong direction?
I am curious about the need for a DC to DC converter. I have basically the same trailer (2106DS) and my TV is a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, and my trailer batteries do get charged while driving. Maybe With the trailering package that came on the truck, I get power to the trailer through the 7-pin connector?
Look up Moundville archaeological Park Moundville Alabama one of the largest Indian Mound park there is there is a museum and RV parking with hookups you would really enjoy this there is a lot of history in Hale County Alabama this is just south of Tuscaloosa Alabama
Yes Vidalia Georgia is the home of Delicious Vidalia Onions. My husband and I took trip's like you and wife. Do you have Spring Training sights of Florida we did this tour as well. Love your show
Another fun video. I used to perform in Natchez back in the late 80's. What fun that was and I could tell you lots of stories...lol. On your trailer cam, do you shoot 4k, 2.7 or 1080? Your footage is always very nice and clear.
@@TravelingRobert ok, think that's special in the USA!? So we hope to enjoy this friendly welcome next month on our trip on Route 66. Here in Europe you never get these nice welcome 🤔
You haven't aged. The adventurer in you has kept you young. Never stop adventuring.
I swear, your original music really elevates your videos to a level that just make them that much more enjoyable. I’m so glad I discovered your channel.
Robert, I gotta hand to you, your quite the salesman. You make mounds of dirt, mosquito invested swamps and dry river bends look exciting.
100%. A guy with a positive attitude. Very good Robert.
My husband's Grandmother was born in Natchez Mississippi. Thanks for sharing. He has never been there. The family moved to California in the early 1940's👍

Great video Robert! I've always found that your videos are more like mini documentaries, with fun facts and historical perspectives!
You couldn't resist that Church Piano, GREAT ! 🤩
What an interesting ride. Loved the old church and your piano playing. ❤
Favorite part was the old church piano rendition of the theme song played by none other than Traveling Robert himself. Excellent! Does anyone else get that song stuck in their head for days??!
We've twice stayed at the Jeff Busby campground on the Trace. Some of the finest, free camping in the east. I love the highway!
Nice touch playing the piano. 🎹

I have never been to Mississippi and after watching this nice show, I will pass. Thanks Robert.

Great video.
Robert, thank you for taking me to my fathers birthplace in northern ms. My gggrandfather move their in about 1849.
Cool been waiting for this one
I notice that the church on the Nachez Trace has those old light fixtures and my Grandmother has one of those hanging over the dinning table

Aww poor Rusty, well at least he's still the famous meatball dog 😆
Was nice to see you play the piano. Was wondering if you still get to play a lot of music.
Im suprised the church was left open and you were able to play the piano👍
I live about 15-20 minutes away from Rocky Springs. The church has always been open for visitors.
good video
Brought bear spray along and there's no bears around.
Surrounded by squirrels and there's no squirrel spray!?!
Oh, Robert!
just need to protect the Oreo cookies from raccoons. I hear they are more ferocious than bears when it comes to Oreos.
At 21:27, did Robert go #2 in the bushes? Bounty paper towels and bushes :)
The mounds are burial grounds. Check out LA Marzulli and the Mounds of the United States. You will be very surprised to learn what's inside them.
