- Today we went trolling for hybrid striper and spotted bass with crankbaits and bucktails during the Fall Transition out at Moss Lake in Kings Mountain, NC. Fishing for Hybrid Striped Bass was slow, but the Spotted Bass picked up after lunch. Crankbaits in the 10 ft range was the bait of choice .It was a beautiful day on the water!
Fall is just around the corner and the Fishing is gonna be fire!

Thanks for the kind words! I’ve heard good thing about the intruders , I may be inclined to upgrade to a northwest or similar aluminum boat w inclosure one of these days! Would be nice in the winter for sure

What size bucktail jig were you using and what brand are those rod holders?
When pulling single buck tails , i usually go with 1oz or sometimes 2oz if im needing them deep. The tubular rod holders are from cisco fishing systems. Thanks for watching!
I never knew that lake had hybrids
It sure does they been elusive so far this year but they are there. Caught plenty of 21-22” fish there in the past. Usually don’t start getting good until late October or November but it’s still fun trying, especially when the spotted bass are biting too!

And to the author, nice vid! I'm getting into some trolling with a 3 rod setup in a small john boat in some local lakes / ponds. Hope I have some of the same luck as you had here. Have you ever tried spinners or poppers as trolling lures, or is there any reason to avoid those?
This is funny. You can't do anything without having woke ideology pushed on you.
