How far out do you put the Alabama Rig before adding Planer boards? Is there some kind of formula? Is it like a down line under the board or is it out like a free line?

+Eddie Beebe hey Eddie you can troll really slow like .5-1mph and it would be more like down lines, but most often I troll closer to 2mph. So it takes a little work to get the depths dialed in . I use line through or inline weights when I need more depth. I’m usually anywhere from 60-120 ft behind the boards at those speeds

Awesome stuff, looks like quality time! The Electronic Image Stabilization of the GoPro 9 is AMAZING! Also looks like you're using the Max Lens Mod. Anyway, thanks for the quality video! Keep it up!

Great video, what kind of a-rigs were you using? Braided line? How far back from the planet board were you running your rugs?

Hey Tom, I use Captain Macks Mini Macks. 20lb mono, 60-90 ft behind the boards depending on depth needed. I usually run a 2oz. Trolling weight or inline sinker too. This gets me down to 20-25 ft at 1.5mph

Trolling is really a lazy way to fish in my opinion.

That’s not been my experience Apollo. It’s actually a lot of work. Still have to find the fish and do your homework. And then manage the boat, all the rods, planer boards , rigs etc. When you do it right it can get crazy and so much fun. Thanks for watching
