- In this video, we are taking a look at the 17 year old Celeron 430. How does it fare in the modern world, what games can it play, and how you can still have a lot of fun with this CPU.

I have an old Dell Optiplex 360 that came with a Celeron 440 and 1GB of RAM.
I picked it up for free from my dad's job after it had sat unused for a few years because it had been freezing randomly and they couldn't be bothered to figure out why. Turns out it was something running on the specific user account, as just creating and using a new account fixed the problem. At the time there were identical models still in use there and that was in 2018 or 2019.
I fiddled a bit with it, tried some games, used setFSB to overclock it to over 2.5GHz.
After using it for a video on my second channel I've since put it to use as a server, upgraded with a Pentium E5300 I found in the trash and 4GB of RAM.
Who the HELL throws a cpu in the trash?
At default frequency 1800 mhz the Celeron 430 is as fast as a much older Athlon Xp 3000+ or P4 3000 mhz.
I bought a Celeron 420 as a joke last year, a Raspberry Pi outruns it.
Had a Celeron 420 as a budget solution back in 2008, it was fine back then when overclocked to 3GHz. Though the boost was insane when I upgraded to C2D E4300 @ 3GHz.
Can u please make a benchmarking video about ati radeon 3000 onboard graphics
I had one, and called it "celery"
It's basically a pentium III clocked at 1.8 ghz. It could have been the best CPU of 2002 had intel not shat the bed by making the pentium 4.
Slight mistake in the end, Celerons are not only dual core. The J1900 I am using now, is one example. The J3160 is another example. And J3455 another.
Totally displaced Intel renamed their Atom CPU Celeron and Pentium Silver and than to N series. But in fact there is an 5 core (1P+4E) Celeron out there that goes by the catchy name 7305L for regular LGA 1700. I'm searching for one since they came out late last year but cound't find one yet maybe cause nobody ask for that one...
Must be tested against a dual P iii-S 1.4 ghz. lol , both cpus with win XP-pro. Both system with an ATI x1300 . lol
Huh. A Celeron potentially worse than the Celeron D 320 in my second PC.
Pentium dual core is good, and celeron e3300 is same good amd athlon dual it cant compare with this cpu, e3300 and p43 with ddr3 memory is killer machine
Tbf, the Celerons where cheap low end CPU's designed for word processing and stuff. They _have_ a purpose and reason to exist!
But then you get to stuff like THIS and the POS that where the Celeron D's where Intel just takes the PISS.
The Celeron D 352 I have is not much faster then the Northwood Celeron out of my Dimension 2400.
Just... Leave it to Intel when it comes to taking the piss!
