Yeah that's so weird half of the people say that it works with the hood open and the other half say that it wouldn't work until the hood was closed... I've never experienced it myself but somebody told me once they couldn't reset a Mercedes until they closed the windows
I had the hood open on this one and it would not reset until I closed it believe me I tried like 6 times until I finally closed the hood, I've had it work on others with the hood open also but this one in particular needed the hood closed that's why I made the video
I just reset the same exact car with the hood open and it worked for me. It went from "Service in 5200 miles" to "Service in 10000 miles".

Yes if you don't have the O-button, this is the wrong year or model for the car you are working on

The check engine light is completely different from the service light and the check engine light definitely came on if you took the cats off the car
