    Have only started rowing and erging properly at Uni since the beginning of September and did a 6:40 3 weeks ago, would love to see a 6:30 row along because that's the goal for the next few months!

    Thank You very much. Today I made my 2nd 2k test. Result 6:46.3. PR by 12sec. I'm 49 and started rowing 6 months ago. In a 2 months time i will try to go sub 6:40.
    Thanks again Cam

    Perfect timing…. I’m a LWT 55 category, & doing the BRIC in 2 weeks 😮…. did your 7:00 row along last week…. & now hoping to go mid 6:50’s. Thanks Cam for continuing the great content. I saw your GB trials video last week & was gutted for you…. but if you ever need motivation on what you’ve achieved, think about how small rowing is (in comparison to other sports) in this country….& then look at how many subs you have…. It’s an incredible achievement.

      Thank you! There's an 8, 7 and now this 6:50 minute 2k row along. A couple faster ones in the pipeline and then will eventually do between 7 and 8 minute row alongs. Hopefully you've found the other long lower intensity row alongs too!

    Thanks for another great video, Cam. Great content, as usual! I’m newer to rowing and am pushing for a 7:00 goal over 2K. Have you had any experience rowing at altitude? I live at 1900m and wonder what effects I would see testing at lower elevation.

    I’m impressed you can talk through this (okay, it’s a minute slower than your normal!). Unfortunately even with the advertising chucked in by UA-cam, I’m massively the wrong side of 7 minutes (nearer to 8) - being an auld git doesn’t help! 😆
    After the recent trials are you pushing on with your winter training and head racing?
    Ps: how is Yam?

    is it better have such a high S/M 32-33 ? I have S/M for this time at about only 28 but I did this distance just once this season as normaly I row just 10km and 21km

    • @CameronBuchan
      @CameronBuchan  5 місяців тому +1

      Generally a higher stroke rate can be better but it needs the technique I suit. Around 32-33 for a PB speed is about right for most!

    • @CameronBuchan

      If you feel that works for you that’s great. Eating higher puts a little bit more pressure on you cardio wise so maybe your strong but cardio could do with work? Could also be technique related!

    Hey cam, what is your best advice for a year 9 kid trying to drop their 2k. Current is a 7:18 and trying to drop to 7:00 or below over winter season.

    • @CameronBuchan
      @CameronBuchan  9 місяців тому

      Best thing for year 9 is just to get into training and have a program that has enough variation in it to keep them interested and consistent. I don't know if you'd be interested but I do write training programs. Let me know if you're interested

    • @CameronBuchan

  • @andyhall7032
    @andyhall7032 9 місяців тому +1

    compared to some recent footage of you on the water your back opens up a lot sooner on the machine...is that just due to getting a stronger catch in a boat whereas you're more likely to just rip it a bit more on the erg ?

    • @CameronBuchan
      @CameronBuchan  9 місяців тому

      I don't really see the difference. Could be that or because it's very light pressure

    • @andyhall7032
      @andyhall7032 9 місяців тому +1

      @@CameronBuchanthanks I'm thinking perhaps of the following but in fairness it's clearly just slow warmup stuff but it has that classic "keep the angle of the back at the catch through the leg drive" kind of style which I think is a lot simpler when actually grabbing water as opposed to a c2 handle : ua-cam.com/video/DErCobTM9pQ/v-deo.html
