Was custom fit at PGH for a set of 223's on Saturday. They were a dream to hit and can't wait to get them in the bag for 2022. The TM P790's were a close 2nd but just loved the look and feel of the 223's.
@@Mungo-ul9pv It could compare. I figured T100S since it is a forged head much more compact than the T200. Both the T100S and the 223 also have an elastomer insert to help with sound and feel where as the T200 is a hollow head design similar to the 225.
I just got fit into the 223’s coming from the zx7’s. Performance wise there wasn’t much difference. Mizuno was slightly softer, and a little smaller profile. It was definitely a want over need
Hi..Michael, I hit the 223 seven iron today, I'm a low handicap player and currently play the i210, just found this 223 alittle small in the head, I can manage it but needs attention the whole time..as alys enjoy your vids...Tks..
Great review..also a great looking iron, but some how the 225 irons get my vote for looks, and forgiveness...Will test drive them next year..Happy Holidays Micheal and Thanks...
Look and feel that’s it - just bought set of Mizzy MX23 stiff lite shafts absolutely amazing with new grips £78 - I am a Miura man but these feel great - love playing around - these new Mizzys sound great - gotta pop over to Mizuno and have a look👌
I have a set of these on order and I’m so excited about them. I currently play JPX 921 SEL, the lefty blend of a 4/5 Forged and 6-GW Tour. Love them, but my only complaint is I would like just a touch more forgiveness in the 6 and 7 irons. Here Mizuno is offering a similar shape with exactly that added touch of forgiveness. These are perfect for me, and I can see exactly why you say they will fit such a wide range of golfers.
Man, I hit the 223 so much better than the 921 SEL. I was getting more speed and better strikes on the 223. Was able to move it a little easier both ways and my landing angle was right at the 47-48 degree window.
Good to see consistent gapping between 8 and pw, and 6 and 8 irons. I was a bit worried with the construction change (vs mp 52/3/4 for example where the heads were all 1025).
I'd love to see a compare of an older club and the MP 223. I have Ping S55 and wanting update my bag. I've always loved forged but blades are just too much for me but these newer clubs with forged faces with a cavity inside are cool. I grew up hitting Wilson McGregor blades.
Hit all three today and totally agree. Liked the MP20 blade better than the 221 but the 223 is so much better than the MP18 SC or the MP20MMC....softer feeling , forgiving and more than enough power in the engine 💪🏽 It is that I already decided on the Titleist 620 CB and ordered a set of them but otherwise this one could have been easily in the bag👍🏽😎
I was fit for the Pro 223 this week. Great shape, feel/sound, forgiveness and performance. I’m a 14 hcp and traded up from G400. It’s an excellent option for a wide range of golfers.
Michael, please mention the shaft that you are using when discussing and hitting clubs. The shaft can make all the difference in feel and performance. Other than that, keep it up 👍🏻 🎄
I wanted an iron that felt great and didn't look chunky but gave a little help. My P790s are great performers but didn't give me that happy feeling. I have ordered the 223s and am feeling good!
@@wnfakind9197 the 225 is slightly bigger and more forgiving and also stronger lofted mor comparable to the p790...225 is a hollow head design but is not filled with foam like the p790...it’s a players distance iron
I hit one at the pro shop yesterday. To be honest, it looks like the jpx 921 forged at address. I couldn't tell the difference in size at all. Performance we really close too
Got me a set of the new P790, perfect for me currently. Not massive, not small, not a disturbing amount of offset, just solid 😁. The new mizuno pro line looks sick tho..
I am going to hit the 223 and 225 this weekend. Looks don't matter much but I do like the 225 look more than the 223 but the lofts are too strong on the 225.
You’re showing your youth referring to a 28* 6 iron being “slightly strong. 😉 6-irons used to be 32* before Ping, Callaway & TM started their ‘distance war’ back in 90’s. I’m curious how this feel and how you see these will fit majority of weekend golfers compared to the 225? The latter looked intriguing, especially to someone my age, 62 years old, who’s lost a few mph of club head speed over the years. The loft progression however on 225 seems daffy w/several being 5*. I’m intending to schedule a fit session in Spring and I suppose we can always re-loft as needed to achieve target yardage progression but I too want to maintain the desired soft feel and spin of my blades while attaining some improved forgiveness for those less quality strikes. Thanks for the nicely produced vid.
Mike great review. We’d like you to mention the “shaft” your using ?! That goes for all your videos. Mention the shaft bro. Just at least mention it lol
Beautiful clubs....wasn't huge fan of MP20s....currently gaming MP69s..... I will be looking at these, another thing to mention is black paint on numbers in the sole.....white is horrible on sole of a club that hits dirt every shot..... These look pretty sweet Own like 5 sets from Epon to PXG, but always come back to mizuno
Mizuno looks to be copying Ping with these (apart from casting bs forged of course). I guess Ping made the right choice to be bringing out a replacement to the 210’s this year.
I think you may have exceeded even James Knobinson when it comes to clickbait titles. Your channel used to be so much better before you succumbed to this desperate approach to attract viewers.

Great fitting and lesson last week from Michael I will be back for some iron advice the drivers working a treat 👍
can we get a 223, ZX7, and T100S comparison in the future? I love my ZX7's and would love to see how they compare .
Would the T200 not be the comparison?

This is sooooo accurate
I think you’re right Mike. Of the 3 new Mizuno releases this is the iron that grabs my attention

Just picked up a set of MP 223's.... was playing JPX 921 Forged. Played MP 69's before those.
Aerotech steelfiber i95 stiff.
Looks great behind the ball, I think this is so important with any club, especially irons.
Good to see consistent gapping between 8 and pw, and 6 and 8 irons. I was a bit worried with the construction change (vs mp 52/3/4 for example where the heads were all 1025).
I was lucky enough to try these ten minutes after they hit the local shop. Ordered them an hour later.

I play a blended set of Srixon 765/565 very similar to what Mizuno is doing. Thes are very interesting to me.

We’re they just as easy to hit as the g400?

Nice choice, you'll enjoy them 👍
Do you know the big differences between the 223 & 225 ? Are the 223 more forgiving , bit bigger of a head ?

went with a blended set of ZX7/5 bc the V sole is great for my steep swing. i love mizuno irons but they do dig a little too much for me
I play zx7’s for the same reason but the sole on these is actually great I ordered them instantly.
@@justinmorales8369 can’t go wrong with mizuno irons.

Subscribed because your distances are identical to mine so easier to relate.
Michael, thanks for the detailed review. Maybe I missed it but are you testing these with the Modus 115? If so, what are your thoughts?
Yes! Lefty's Thanks Mike
Michael, great content! Excited to try these. What shafts were you hitting with these?
Mizuno 223 would be my pick of the 3 new sets 4 thru wedge. The optional A-wedge is a good offering from Mizuno. I like a matching approach wedge.
I’m interested in the Mizuno 225. I like the hollow body and larger head.
Oh that's lovely. . . :)
I am going to hit the 223 and 225 this weekend. Looks don't matter much but I do like the 225 look more than the 223 but the lofts are too strong on the 225.
I'm an mp20 MMC player and for me they are aesthetically more pleasing on the eye than the 223
I love mine with the steelfiber i95 stiff shafts in them. 7 iron carries 180 stock swing.
I'm really not very good but I find it easier to focus on hitting the sweet spot with smaller clubheads.

What is so different than the 921 forged?
Looks like what a forged ping i210 should be…
On my shopping list along with Titleist T100S it’ll be close I think!
What did you end up getting?
Hi
What s the ideal combo set ? 223 & 225
Gaping ?
Rgds
yes
Hi !
Gap between P and 8 is 35 yards !!
Very similar to the Taylormade P750.
So the 225 is more forgiving than the 223 ? thx cheers
Watch TXG review of the 225 , they make it sound like the 225 is just the best all around club for a variety of golfers
Wont be tempted love my PXG irons
I'm happy with my ZX7's for half the cost. I don't care how good those are. That much money for a set of irons is ridiculous.
Wouldn’t the 225 be more suited for the majority of players over the 223?
I like the looks of the 221 & 225 better but the 223 are the most simular to my New Level 902s and the ones I would buy, unless they have boron.
He says the 223 are more so for the majority of golfers but wouldn’t the 225 be more suited to the majority of averageish golfers ?
Looks like Ping i210
👍👍👍
Looks like a Ping 210
Is it worth a combo of these 4-6 then the 221's 7-pw or just hang onto my mp5's and ignore the marketing! Aaarrgghhh🤦♂️😂

Yeaaa, I hit 225 like
Makes a lovely subdued sound.
Little too chunky and can’t get on with the shaping of the p wedge. 2021 t100 blows these out of the water mate!
