James thank you and appreciate having Mark back on with you. A year later after my fitting, the G430’s are serving me well. High flight, land soft and zero flyers. A solid choice, when fit, for the mid hdcp. So enjoy the channel.
I tried the G430’s and I went with the new Mizuno JPX HL. They were a little more suited for my game. Go get ‘em Mark. Thanks James for another great video.
just bought the G430, 5 to sand with a 4 hybrid, green dot 1 inch longer, i hit my irons high so the pro got me to get the aggresive heads, think basically a 5 becomes a 4, fingers crossed they work, they did in the studio, im a high handicap and getting older, graphite shafts tells me that
I am a mid handicap golfer I have the G425s and the forgiveness is massive. When you flush it you know you do but how many times in the round do you flush it. Sometimes I hit a shot and think oh no but the end result is good even when you hit 80/90% of a shot so I imagine the 430s must be as good if not better
I love my Ping i25, still looks very good, and are my first clubs..I am not fitted, or making new bag every year so I think g410-430 would be great next irons for me
Ping is doing a fitting tomorrow at a local shop so I am going there. I have never been able to hit one well enough to put it in the bag, but am looking forward to trying these. Doing Callaway the following week.
@@swisstrader It went well. I crushed my first shot with a 7 iron, so there was little adjustment I had to make. I left the fitting thinking I would for sure be getting the G-430s. At the callaway fitting, I almost wasn't even going to hit the Paradym X's. But I gave them a shot and while similar in distance, the X had a more tight dispersion around the center line. The 430's pulled to the left a little more. The same story was found with the drivers so I would go with the Paradym standard there. I ordered the Paradym X's for the irons. They arrived Friday so I took them to the range a couple times this weekend. All the clubs are seemed they dispersed pretty evenly right to left of center. Looking forward to playing a round with them. My only issues is I have to adjust to the distances. I had to eat some humble pie and move from a player distance to a game improvement iron so they're pretty cranked and very hot on the face.
I am a mid handicap 71 years old and I bought these irons last year ,, they are awesome for me.they are 10 to 12 yards longer,,,8 iron is on the spot 160 to165,,,the only thing is you need 5 wedges but once you dial in yardage they are awesome
I’ve got g30 irons still and I’m currently 11.9 I’m toying with getting new irons but not sure I’d notice much difference or a big enough difference for the money, what’s difference did you find ? I was thinking of I series irons next
these were a wild card when i was getting fit for new irons. Was looking at ZX4 and Mizuno Hot Metal. Hot Metal and ZX4 were good, but I couldnt believe how good I hit these. I went back another day just to make sure it wasnt a fluke. Order placed yesterday.
I've come to view this video after our trip to get my buddy fitted for his new clubs! He's 63 years old and it was his first fitting ever and has been playing since he was a teenager! His handicap now is around 13 from the senior tee's! He bought a full set of these Ping G430 Max driver, 5 wood, 4 hybrid, 6 thru gap wedge regular graphite shafts! 🐊🏌🦅🇺🇲👍🏻
I bought the Ping G430 Max driver, I was that happy with it I bought the irons now 77years old, handicap of 32.2 these are forgiving and still give me decent distance
Just got fitted for the G430s and cannot wait for them to arrive in a few weeks. Gained 15-20 yards on my 7-iron with the height and carry that I went looking for. 65 years old and needed something that gave me more carry than my current D7's. The Pings did that and looked and sounded great! I wanted to like the Mizuno's but the Pings defeated them and all comers in the game improvement space for me.
Very well done and a great review. I'm impressed that you can putt so well on a cabbage patch. I'd love to see the stopping power on real greens. Would you recommend them for a mid-handicap senior player? They are on my list to look at as I enter my dotage. Sod this getting old lark - I want my flexibility back.
@@jonathanbarrow1281 Yes they are. I have found them very forgiving and have really helped me get some more distance as well. I’m very happy with them.
These Ping Irons look good and seem to play well, but doubt I would trade what I have for them. Personally, I prefer a forged feel, and I know many of the cast products produced today have a nice feel as well. Great video again.
I will be going to my local golf shop for a fitting soon and will be open to any of the Ping irons. I'm already gaming the G425 5 & 3 woods and the G430 4hybrid and 2021 Anser putter and loved them all.
As there are only a few per cent of golfers who play to your standard James, it's great to see you doing this with one of us "average" golfers! Can we have more of this when you review more new clubs?
I just got the 430's played one round with them. Definitely hit the ball higher, but not sure if it was worth the switch. Us golfer's are always looking for the next best thing. Played R11's before. However, The Ping driver was definitely worth the switch. Can hit it over the trees on the doglegs
Been playing far too long to be able to play these. Started with blades in 1972 and only changed to muscle backs in 1996! No longer the player I was, decided just wanted clubs that suit my eye. Have Titleist TSi woods, TMB long irons, AP2 for rest of set and Vokey SM8 wedges, Scotty Cameron putter. I am no good, but my equipment is top of the shop and I smile every time I look at them………about 10 -15 times too often a round!
😅 love your comment and humor. I myself picked up golf after 30 years due to covid and age now this is the only game I can muster. Been going around collecting beryllium copper ping eye2 and Nike Adams in my bag for nostalgia. Its the process not the result, sometimes.
James…great content here, and yes I would play these as long as they feel good to me. I play P790’s currently and I imagine these are at a minimum at least as forgiving. I want to enjoy golf and I feel why make the game any harder than it already is.
I have toyed with G series over the years (G10 and G30... both landmark sets). I have always reverted to less chunky. However, if/when I finally get custom fit, I think it will be a set of these or their later iterations in retro spec.
I have the G irons from a few years ago when they dropped the numbers. I don’t think I’d change to these. If and when I change I’d be more likely to opt for something better looking but still forgiving like TM P790 (or possibly P770) or Mizuno Pro 225.
Having recently bought these clubs and having had Callaway pro tour and mizuno’s the G430 are amazing. I love them and they are so forgiving. I’ve had them custom fitted with a 3 degree alteration and wow what a club!
Great shot, Mark! You should have been a little more animated at James. Just imagine if he would have made that shot on you? I hit all the new drivers, and the new 430 is definitely one of the best. It's still not as good as my SIM 2, at least for me.
I've been playing pings all my life. I didn't like the early g series. Didn't fit my eye and sole was too big for me. But the 425 and 430 I love the irons and woods. I love the i blades but I stopped playing for several years. Just started back and I've fallen in love with my 425. I recently played a round with the 430s and I was really impressed. They're better than the 425s but not enough for me to replace my 2yr old 425 irons. I did replace my woods both fairway and driver. Also added a hybrid 3 (getting old) but it's a fun club. Flys high, long, and lands soft. The lofts are a little strong for me so I ordered the retro lofts and that was the missing piece.
I had the G's (2016) then went i200 and played them until I got fitted for srixon zx4 MK2. To me it seems like new zx4 fits in the middle of i230 and G430.
