I had a real soft spot for Richelieu and Jean Bart when I was playing the game. Setting aside the history, I love that combination of speed and an all-forward gun layout. It's so darn satisfying to push a flank, or do a drive-by. These ships are best used aggressively, so the gameplay is rarely boring, and everyone (understandably) doesn't register these ships as a primary threat.
I got Richelieu from some crates 2018 (along T7,6,5) when I started to play game , scammed WG RNG decided I need one , so one of my first few battles I won solo warrior , I did not know what that is then , now after 6 year playing game & over 50k battles in game in all mods , that was my only solo warrior , so Richelieu have port slot in my heart for sure :)
That reverse score on replays has been a thing for a couple of weeks. Though I have seen some where it was fixed. So Richelieu gave us dull round point dinner knives. I think it was one of the Russian Tsars that had all the extra buttons on suit and military uniform sleeves. He ordered the buttons on the jackets to stop the men from wiping their mouths and noses with their sleeves at dinner.
5:53 when the green team got a cap but the points were added to the red teams ticker. This bug has been going on at least 2 weeks now. 2nd bug in game: torp tubes that refuse to fire. Mostly third and fourth launcher (Minotaur, Jager, Shimakaze, Benham, Okhotnik, etc... ) That has been happening since december
Another plus for the Richelieu, the firing angles for the forward turrets are surprisingly forgiving, allowing you to kite much more effectively than you'd expect from a battleship with this configuration.
Helps for delaying action when you are on the weaker front of your team and need to run away. In that case, running away is a good tactic, your speed is an advantage, DDs take a long time to catch up to you and usually divert to the center caps or become trapped between you and the map boarder so they are detected and eliminated. Once a good part of the danger is dealt with I just make a U turn and counter attack (usually I reach the other side of the map when it happens). If the enemy goes to assist the center of map, they can show their broadside, thinking I'm just running away and not a threat to them... and BANG.
I didn't notice that the points were backwards but at 5:40 I realised that the rudder shift indicator only responds to Q and E, and doesn't reset if A or D was pressed
When they were first introduced, I found Richelieu, and Jean Bart to be very good bow-tankers, and I loved using them in delaying actions. Pull up to the point, engage, all back full with boost, and draw the enemy into my team. To me these two were like Claymore mines. I even got Happa to laugh on stream by saying the JB needed a solid olive green skin with a plaque on the superstructure saying "Front Toward Enemy". Course now HE spam, and "improved" AP ricochet characteristics, and so many ships being able to pen 32mm plating has largely ruined that.
Richelieu is my most played ship. In a 2-man division it can do some real damage. You can snipe if you want, but you can also be hyper-aggressive due to the very strong forward firepower. I like to speed-boost into smoke screens and slap the destroyer inside with 8 HE shells from point blank. Incredibly, this can consistently work. I love this ship.
I didnt really like Richie, since I had JB for a while and it felt like very much a downgrade. But was just grinding through tree on it and it was fine. But then it turns out that my damage record is now done it somehow. Only 263k but still.
@@Elvroom I'd say it is. The Bretagne is dogshit, but Normandie is amazing. Lyon is ridiculous, Richelieu is good, Alsace is good and Republique is quite a departure from other battleships, but immensely powerful in the right hands.
@@macgruber6739 I always FXP to t5 or try to have enough to the t6. I think that the t5 will not be a problem. 3 battles with good boosters and hope for no uptier. Easy match at t5.

I like to think I am a well educated man, but I always seem to learn something random about history from your videos, like the table knife.. who know... Keep fighting the good fight Shipmate...
I read or heard somewhere (it may have been Drachinifel's review) that, because the main guns were packed so closely together, the pressure wave from the muzzle blast from one main gun would detrimentally affect the trajectory of projectiles synchronously fired from neighboring guns in the same turret.
I was in the kitchen making dinner and knew what the bug was as soon as you mentioned it because I'd seen it on another video :-)! Sorry that he didn't get to sink the carrier!
Iirc the last replay (non GoT) had the same bug, someone pointed it out in the comments too. Or maybe that was the one before, but it's already happened.
Slow reload on Richelieu is kinda Historically accurate (the base loading time was supposed to be 30s but it was going up to 45s IRL because the loading system was awfully complex). It was designed to be, in theory, capable to load the guns while they were still elevated to save time but it never worked properly... Yes Richelieu has an unreliable dispersion as it had IRL because those quad turrets are mounted in double dual turrets making the outer gun shells be disturbed by the inner gun shell's wake, and vice & versa. Later Jean Bart incorporated a 60 milisecond delaying system to avoid inner and outer guns firing exactly at the same time for the wake to be less disturbing, that improved accuracy quite a lot. Once I had a very good dispersion on an ennemy Des Moines that I deleted in one salvo, all shells arriving in the same post code. On the other hand, that ship seems to have the uncanny ability to hit things at extreme ranges (it has a very good range for a T8 BB, almost as much as a Yamato ! ). Once on that very same map, I was arriving on B from the West (from A) and I was trouble by an ennemy Atlanta hiding behind the islands near D5. Half of my team was going North to go hunt the CV that appeared at the extreme range of my guns (25 km). That moment I said, "all right guys, party is over, I need your help in the center". I fired on the CV and sunk him as a mean to signal my team that is was high time they helped me against the Atlanta... 13:40 Ironically, had the CV been further away, Richelieu might have deleted it...
I've recorded a couple of videos where I made the same mistake. This time I was pretty sure before you mentioned anything. It wasn't really obvious at first when the scores were close, but you can see which team has two cap circles by watching how often the little "+3"s appear next to the team scores.
I noticed it at the end with "Victory", but also because I noticed right before the DD kill at A that the steering indicator was also wonky. (It indicated max right whilst turning left, going straight, later on indicating max left whilst turning right etc)
Realized the bug the moment you pointed it out, because it was in the last video - the points counter's team colors are backwards. Strangely, it's actually the meters themselves which have been swapped as well - the colors still match, but the ship counter above them is accurate to the correct teams, even if the point counters are not.
There's also another bug in this replay, that has also been in almost every replay I've seen. The "Max E" bug, as I always called it, is when the player uses the Q/E rudder controls for turning but taps A/D to straighten out. In the game, that HUD element properly disappears as it should, but in replays it does not.
I realized the bug at 5:10 when you first mentioned it. I watch a lot of wows replays and in recent updates updates there has been a bug with points being swapped. So when the DDs died I knew immediately what you were talking about.
As soon as you mentioned there was a bug I knew what you were referring to. I have an advantage as Sea Lord Mountbatten (American UA-camr) had already picked this up a week ago.

Noticed it instantly. Sent in a solid Replay for Game of Throws recently and while watching it again noticed that the score was buggy and it didn't even look like a throw due to the score bug changing it all up.
The score bug came in with the last update, I think. I noticed it right away a week or two ago, because I did the same thing you did, wondering how the red team is still accumulating points when they didn't have a cap. But, it was great fun listening to you have a panic attack there at the end.
Coming back after a while, I haven't watched any of the older WoWS videos in a while. But I noticed the bug at around 8:30 or so, when I watched the enemy ticket counter going up... even when the middle cap - the one that had their color - was being contested.
I saw that in a previous replay and I didn't realize what had happened. This time I noticed it when the star of the show got his double-strike and all those points went the other way.. heh.
