@@jackpfefferkorn3734Yeah, but honestly the moment that most sends tingles in the spine is that when the Emperor was asked by the custodian Damocles on what to do next and he said, "I dont know."
I smiled so widely when I read that. Being a primarch must be such a singular kind of existence even at the best of times but the Lion felt so alone and adrift in this new world. But he is not as alone as he feared.
Imagine on the other hand Dorns sadness. Watching his brothers succumb to chaos, the Emperor fall, and then his loyal brothers one by one dissappear or die. Only to be the last, alone, for centuries.
The best part about this conversation was how the lion went in hostile because dante was wearing sangunius' mask. The lion was hyping himself up for a verbal smackdown with possible violence. Then they started talking, and the lion looked like he needed to sit down for a while to process. Truely dante is the most powerful character to do that to a primarch.
This meeting was quite an emotional roller coaster. If I recall correctly, Dante met the Lion while wearing his Sanguinus Death mask, to which the Lion - quite calmly - asked "YOU FUCKING DARE!?"
It's funny when Guillman was stranded in Ultramar during Horus Heresy, it was the Lion who first found him. Now, when Guilliman is feeling alone in the 40k, the Lion is the first loyal Primarch to come back. Such a big brother move for the Lion.
They will, the question is who initiates it? In Unremembered Empire it was the Lion, but this time I'm betting GMan, Emperor knows our boy could use a hug
I love it because spends the book getting pissed when he remembers stuff Guilliman did but the moment we realizes that Guilliman is alive he has hope because he has a brother still alive
Characters in 40k that rage against the endless night are my personal heros and role models. Gives me the hype to fight against the nihilism of our modern age. A space marine's greatest strength is their will. And that is open to us all.
I love Dante so much he's depressed and doesn't want to keep living. But refuses to stop until something actually manages to kill him. Because the Imperium needs him. He hates it, he's tired, he wants to lay down and stop existing finally. 1000 years of constant war. He's tired But he NEEDS to keep fighting
It would be great if as the loyal primarchs returned they learned to love/appreciate one another as a family. Like learning the you don't know what you have it till it's gone lesson.

If the stoic Lion El’Johnson can’t hope but feel relieved when knowing that another of his brother alive to take off some burden. Can’t think how freaking desperate Roboute must have felt being the only Loyalist Primarch awaken
I'm really loving the storyline of grief, loss, and loneliness in the new, primarch focused novels. It greatly humanises them. Especially Guilliman, contemplating what his brothers would have said or done in a certain situation, and that included the traitor primarchs. Even Lorgar and Peturabo. Clearly stating how much he missed them.
This was so heartening to read because in the Gathering Storm, when guilliman learned that he was the only one back, he _desperatley_ wanted one of his brothers, ANY of them, to be back with him because only they would understand. And Lion El Johnson felt the same way :') I cannot wait for these two to reunite, you know its gonna be a teary reunion. I know I'll certainly be crying.
Keep in mind this is right after El'Jonson was about tear Dante apart after seeing the Space Marine's helm since it was modeled after after the death mask of Sanginius!!! Fortunately, Dante removed his helm before addressing the Primarch. The outburst also helped convince Dante of El'Jonson's identity, as only another Primarch would have had such an intense reaction to the helm!!!
CHILLS. It's striking that we consider the Imperium to be this whole thing when in reality it is a broken remnant, the last bastion and refuge for the survivors of the apocalypse, nothing in comparison to what the Emperor had set out to create.
"Dante, I have but one request, if it troubles you not. The tension between Roboute and I may lead to conflict should we meet. Yet should you find yourself in his presence, relay to him that his brother is gladdened by his presence."
"Inquisitor lord? Mm. The only worth this profane worship has is beneath the boot of my heel." "Such wonders. Such marvels of engineering.. And they hide between trinkets and witchcraft, fearing what it could do if they but learned it." "If you are unwilling, or incapable, then I will forge the new gellar fields myself, fabricate the hulls with my own sweat and blood. And when I am through slaughtering the heretics who besmirch our father's name, I will lead your armies on the crusade that will usher in humanity's golden age once more. With, or without your petty inquisition standing by my side." "Ignorance is not strength. It is apathy. You drive the lowest of your hive systems to embrace the enemy with open arms, for what do they have to lose by trading one hell for another? You are human. They are human. Are you not one beneath your so-called "God"? Then how is it that some are more deserving of his grace and the blessings of this Imperium than others? I will set you upon equal footing. You will be no greater than the lowest wretch, and the wretch shall live a life better than the one you claim now. And you will march hand in hand, or wither and decay as they rise to the dawn of our shared tomorrow."
I reimagined it like a family that got separated during a war and the Lion finally heard that at least 1 of his little brother made it out of the country
this hits harder with the context of the Lion talking about him really needing and wanting one of his brothers. And when the other person says "eve russ?" lion says "even russ"
I can only imagine how they both feel. They both thought themselves the soul survivor of their brothers only to find out that thankfully they are not alone and there is still hope. It is nice to see some bright spots in the darkness of 40k
@@mrmofo36 leave it to the Master Magpies to find him. They've supposedly got several Salamander relics secured that would herald the return of Vulcan and numerous other pieces of "Lost" Chapter Relics. I'd not be surprised if they've already got him in their Vaults.
It's crazy when the Lion first meets Dante, he was wearing his usual mask and it pissed off the guy so much looking at the face of the Angel. Believe it went something like "Who are you? WHO ARE YOU!? WHO ARE YOU TO BE WEARING THE FACE OF MY BROTHER?!" or something, man was indeed pissed
It's nice that even though they threw hands at the end of the Horusy Lion El Johnson still remembered Roboute in reverence saying that he was not alone. Because even though he was obviously in stasis for all that time he must have realized that he couldn't do it alone and he would need every one of his brothers even Guillman to beat back the darkness and save humanity. Who would have thought that such a simple statement of "I am not alone" could hold so much weight for the future of humanity. That's why I love Warhammer 40k lore.
One thing I love about Guilliman and the Lion coming back is that they weren't even always on good terms with one another during the Heresy, but right now they're all they've got.
For a hot minute we were REALLY worried The Lion would not be all too happy with Guilliman but then we got this and breathed a collective sigh of relief.
I really hope leman shows up at somepoint. With isha in tow cause that would just be a neat addition and leman was attempting to find the tree of life to revive the Emperor. And since isha last i knew is trapped in nurgles garden i can see the tree being there. He frees isha somehow and she purifies the tree somehow on the way out. Or the whole tree of life thing was metaphor for what isha represents as the eldar goddess of life and what not.
I saw a meme about this. It continues on with: "Or maybe the Lion could rescue her, circling back around to fulfilling his vibe as an Arthurian knight of old!" "But how will this affect the Eldar plotline?" "...Eldar plotline?"
Fun fact : When the lion see Dante with the mask of Sanguinus, he take that lile disrespect and was already making plans to kill all the blood angels presents in the scene. They were like 60. And after Dante kneeled he was more compilant to let them live
Lion: "I am not alone!" Guilliman: "I feel something... kinship... A brother has returned." Yvraine: "Are you sure that's not you getting used to our 'diplomacy'?"
The fact the Lion put all his pride, a major Dark Angels trait, aside to accept that he was better off NOT being the only Primarch and had the humility to be more or less RELIEVED to hear one of his brothers was still alive is very un-Lion and as a Dark Angels fan I love it.

Guilliman: *Ultra Depression* Oh Throne! How an I supposed to do this alone?! Lion, kicking in the door: BROTHER! I BROUGHT THE BREWSKIS! THANK FATHER I’M NOT ALONE IN THIS GALAXY!
Hope enhances grimdark. If you don't have at least a little bit of levity to contrast the darkness, it all becomes samey and boring. Your setting isn't under threat or anything, it's just changing like it's done for the last 40 years.
@@viperblitz11 there is a big difference between expanding and change. also we already had hope or peak of power for all races but i mainly refer to one part: the great crusade. good luck to GW making another great crusade and "insert primarch name" heresy that will not make other races lame or shit

The Eldar and Tau are scraping the bottom of the barrel, the Votann have *nothing in the barrel* and the Necrons and Nids are kept only as relevant as they need to be to sell more space marines. But that's besides the point. The addition of more hope is (in my own opinion) only a good thing for the setting. As I personally find endless, no-reprieve misery circlejerks to be boring and samey. It's not that older 40k had no reprieve, it's that the reprieve was camp and cheese that you could laugh at from the outside. Since it's taking itself seriously now, some actual narrative hope is necessary in order to stop it from becoming tired and depressing all the time.

It has to be something iconic that helps them make major strides. The Lion's shadow walking is not only iconic for a feline hunter, but it helped him dominate Angron by using defines and guile to overcome his brute force.
@@jackpfefferkorn3734Yeah, but honestly the moment that most sends tingles in the spine is that when the Emperor was asked by the custodian Damocles on what to do next and he said, "I dont know."
Is the khan still alive yet lost somewhere?
Knowing how he felt in Decent of Angels n after the herasy, makes that “I am not alone” hit different…

After learning the state of the Imperium:
"Nevermind, Guilliman is the best choice of being revived"
This meeting was quite an emotional roller coaster. If I recall correctly, Dante met the Lion while wearing his Sanguinus Death mask, to which the Lion - quite calmly - asked "YOU FUCKING DARE!?"
"HEY, we are ALL super gay for sanguinius here Sir."
People always like ‘Oh Lions gonna kick GMan’s ass for primaris’ yadda yadda. No these two boys are gonna hug and fuckin cry

Dante and Vergil are the two lost Primarchs. Can confirm
It's funny when Guillman was stranded in Ultramar during Horus Heresy, it was the Lion who first found him. Now, when Guilliman is feeling alone in the 40k, the Lion is the first loyal Primarch to come back. Such a big brother move for the Lion.
"I am not alone” is the best feeling when you realize people can share your pain

I love Dante so much
he's depressed and doesn't want to keep living. But refuses to stop until something actually manages to kill him. Because the Imperium needs him.
He hates it, he's tired, he wants to lay down and stop existing finally. 1000 years of constant war. He's tired
But he NEEDS to keep fighting
It would be great if as the loyal primarchs returned they learned to love/appreciate one another as a family. Like learning the you don't know what you have it till it's gone lesson.
This would be Dorn's thing the most. He WATCHED his siblings disappear one by one. I feel he would be the most appreciative of everyone.

I'd have thought it be:
'ah which one?'
'Guliman my lord'

Russ: *running with Isha from the Nurgle's gardens* not for long, you grumpy a-hole

-The Lion (probably)

With, or without your petty inquisition standing by my side."
"Ignorance is not strength.
Honestly i doubt it. I think if any other Primarch returns they'll have the exact same objective "I MUST REUNITE WITH MY BROTHERS"

Lion:"what happened"
Dante:"guilliman locked the fuck in"
Dante: “Also my lord I have to inform you that your brother has an Eldar girlfriend.”
Lion: “YES DOING WHAT? WITH A WHAT!?”
And cue the hugging/beatings between these two brothers, as they realize they need each other. Can't wait
Can she live in the material world?
I saw a meme about this. It continues on with:
"Or maybe the Lion could rescue her, circling back around to fulfilling his vibe as an Arthurian knight of old!"
"But how will this affect the Eldar plotline?"
"...Eldar plotline?"
Fun fact :
When the lion see Dante with the mask of Sanguinus, he take that lile disrespect and was already making plans to kill all the blood angels presents in the scene. They were like 60.
And after Dante kneeled he was more compilant to let them live
He knew they were loyalists, right?

The fact the Lion put all his pride, a major Dark Angels trait, aside to accept that he was better off NOT being the only Primarch and had the humility to be more or less RELIEVED to hear one of his brothers was still alive is very un-Lion and as a Dark Angels fan I love it.

Well... the grim darkness has started to break. Behold!! Another loyalist primarch is on the scene!!
While the grim darkness is starting to be less dark, its still very much grim, even with two primarchs the Imperium is still fucked
@@warhounds I'm not terribly convinced that GW cares how lame or shit any non-human, non-chaos faction ends up being.
Why is all art of Dante depicting him with White hair when he has shoulder-length black hair mixed with a few gray hairs and blue eyes?
Because plenty of people do not read books, and he is described as the oldest living space marine. Many people get their lore and descriptions of characters from snippets, videos, social media, and wiki pages. Much as I liked TTS, there is a lot of creative liberty with it and old lore in it.
TTS was far from perfect, but we're all going to be pining for old lore at this rate, @@Doku71. 😅

Ferrus- Dead
Sanguinus- Dead
Dorn- Almost certainly dead, definitely at least missing a hand
Khan- Disappeared fighting Drukhari, likely held prisoner by them
Corax- Spawn camping Lorgar for ten thousand years. Honestly, justifiable, I’ll accept that.
Russ and Vulcan- *Somwhere.* Like, at least Russ *could* be theoretically dead or crippled or something, but Vulcan? He’s literally immortal, and could build a warp ship from scratch solo, like a crazy Ark character, he better be fighting the largest necron tomb world in the galaxy barehanded or some shit like that to justify the Imperium’s best boy just dipping for several millennia
Russ and Khan will return
I mean Russ probably stuck in Warp fighting endless waves of demons sent by Khorne who literally do not care as long as blood spill
And Khan? I think he’s on Traffic Jam😂😂😂😂😂😂
