A night in my Hilleberg Allak 2 in the heart of the Scafell range.
A 12.6 mile (20.3km) walk with 2550ft (780m) of ascent.

When I was 15 I wild camped by the stream to the right of the telephone kiosk. Brought back a lot of happy memories.

That inversion with the drone footage was ace & a broken spectre too of the drone eh 👌
Real remote feel to that valley up there I do love that route up the eskdale valley..cam spout looking excellent & the Scafells..well 👌 superb.. stay safe pal & hopefully see thi soon.

That wine holder looks like a drip bag. Surely you can find a way of securing it to the roof of the tent with a syphon tube and then you can concentrate all of your energy on the sandwich and chocolate bar. Stunning video as always. I generally watch them more than once they are so entertaining.

Having not done an over-nighter more than twenty-five years, three days ago I took my 17 year old son (his first wild camp) up the Esk River and we camped approx, 50m below where you were camped on High Gait Crags. Words cannot describe the beauty of the place. The next morning we climbed the side of Cam Spout to the summit of Scafell Pike, returning via Little Narrowcove. What a great two days out.
Thanks for the inspiration, it was just what the doctor ordered.l

Hi Dave, I can't think of any better words than "absolutely stunning". You are without doubt the 21st century equivalent to Wainwright...only better! This was truly exceptional. Thank you for treating us to this quality footage for everyone who loves the Lakes. Incidentally a few years back my brother and I were crossing Great Moss - when all of a sudden we were spotted by a herd of cattle who stampeded us in a "pincer" movement. We literally had to run for our lives. It was only the farmer some distance off...on his quad bike, who called the herd away and saved the day for us. Truly terrifying!! This area is as you say jaw dropping👍

I know what you mean Val. When I was stood by the river looking up at the Scafells it just so humbling. A wave of emotion came over me but I had to just shake it off and carry on. It’s a special place 🙏🏻. Glad you enjoyed it too 😊

Loved the scenery, we’ve hiked all those you mentioned, filmed most for our channel. There’s no place like it. My wild camping adventures start this spring, now my daughters are teenagers I need some alone time with the fells and mountains. ❤

Hi Dave. Well, you have been and gone and done it haven’t you?? Surpassed yourself. That was an absolute joy to behold and the drama of the drone flight was totally unexpected. It looked like a typical drab day in the hills. To find there was an inversion that was above you was a surprise! I watch your blogs on my big tv, and I felt like I was there with you. Awesome spot. Phew. Need to have a lie down… (it is 1am after all😂)

Upper Eskdale is my favourite place in the Lakes, one for the connoisseur, and far from the madding crowds.
I never cease to be amazed at this huge wilderness at the heart of the Lakes, and this side of the Scafell range is so much more impressive than the Wasdale side, with Esk Buttress, Mickledore, Broad Stand all looking superb.
